One of my favorite Eagle's special move is where he can Counter-Attack while blocking at the same time, the input is(Manchester Block)QCF + Punch, blocking only works when you hold the punch button
For example, Ryu does his (HK)Hurricane Kick, & Eagle does
(MP) Manchester Block & holds MP longer, waiting for the Hurricane Kick to end, so that he can counter hit
An Opponent doing an Crouching HK Sweep, Eagle does (HP)
Manchester Block, this time you don't have to hold that long, because the attack is short & it only blocks low, but it doesn't block high.

I think it's fair to expect two more alpha characters and two new/forgotten/b-list characters. After all, they gotta save some 3s characters for 3shdremix. Don't like it? Shouldn't have begged for it and just been happy with good old free GGPO.
Also, I believe Eagle has a better chance than rolento or, rol will have Eagle's costume as an alternate, this is because of the gentlemen match up between him and dudly AND the weapons match up between a stick fighter and Vega.
I want this game NOW!!! I hope both of them turn out good in this game and they hopefully not suck.

Someone mentioned earlier that Yang being able to combo from his super directly into his ultra would make him high tier... Have any of you seen Makoto lately?
Wow, that trailer was good. Yang's Ultra was pretty bad-ass. One thing I noticed is that when he used Seien Enbu, he was able to recover fast enough after one mantis slash to connect the ultra. In that case, couldn't you just do an infinite (for as long as the Super lasts) with mantis slashes?

both these actually look pretty good. I am looking forward to this. And Yes even though this trailer was a bit flashy, It is up to the player to see if they are for them. At first I thought Ibuki would the one I wanted to main but instead it is still Gen with Makoto and Guy on the side. Love their styles. I just have to try them myself.

I can hear it all now: All the Yun fans are going to complain that he doesn't play as well as his 3S counter-part.
And yeah, while Yun does juggle, Yang's cross-ups should be more deadlier, given that he might be able to do it without the help of his Seien Enbu.
And on the question of the price: I think it should be free. This isn't a optional update; it's a mandatory update. Besides, I'm sure the new costume packs are going to help Capcom make more revenue to push farther into what they can do with SSFIV via DLC.

I think it's a great idea not to include all 3rd Strike Characters for SFIV, because SF Alpha 3/SSFIV has the entire cast of SF2/SSF2 characters. Dudley vs Eagle would make an interesting rival :D

Geki & Vega are both nothing alike, except the claw part, The only part he need is normal attacks, high jump ability, wall jump & ability to turn invincible.
Yang's intro looks awesome, so was his ultra and Juri's projectile launcher could linked into a low projectile, sweet.
I'm curious to know if the voice actors for these 2 are the same ones from 3rd Strike. Judging from their fight intros, I think it's possible, which would be awesome if true. I wish they could've Dudley's old VA

Does anyone remember when they said that it was a struggle to create a proper after image for Ibuki's command dash because there would be too many things on the screen and it would begin to strain the system?

Ok that's 2 new characters now reveal to use the other 4. I think Haggar should be in because his, in I think cody's intro or Guy's not sure? But if they put Rolento and Alex I will be contented and would not care who else they add.

Ugh judging from that match vid, Yun does appear to be very sluggish movement wise compared to Yang. Hopefully the devs take notes and speed him up a bit before the final release, or else he'll turn into another disappointment like Makoto.

His Palm thrust meter build stops fireballs and builds meter AND if its EX-proj. he has time to block it. I bet the hit box is huge. hitting above him too.
His super works better than Yang's because of buffering. (Yang hits more times=less damage)

Yang doesn't rely on his Super like Yun. It's ALL about EX Slashes, and if Yun's palm deflects fireballs, so does Yangs (well that's how it should be).
I'm liking how a well timed shoulder goes through fireballs. Nice touch, I don't know if that worked in 3S because I just parried fireballs back then
that Palm move beating Flashkick was kind of scary.. i seriously dont want Yun to be TOO good.. >.< also that Palm move (again.. ) beating an EX Sonic Boom with kill and block.. wtf.. doesnt that mean palm can beat every projectile? (boom is the fastest (?) and cant hit him..)

Palms cancelling fireballs is a godsend for these two (Yang palm likely works the exact same as Yun). Being able to build meter w/o fireballs touching them is going to be super valuable, and it doesn't hurt that palm's hitbox is so good. These two will likely be the best Super meter builders in the game.
Yun is looking fantastic. Palm for meter + GJ = Yun has some of his 3S essence still. And having shoulder go through fireballs is going to be super valuable in this game. His Ultra 1 looks like a very solid choice also. The only thing I can see ruining Yun, though, is if EX meter is required to reversal.
Yang...not much has been seen...but very good to know he can hitconfirm to slashes. I can see Yang being better or at least close behind Yun simply because he isn't hurt by not having Super available to him often.
Where are Mr. Yun and Mr. Yang's protective gear!?!?!, Safety first! They're going at crazy speeds without headgear??? Well, I guess Mr. Yun does have a hat. But I will have to teach them put safety first!

I think Geki has a great chance. SF doesn't have a straight ninja character like Tekken and VF. Ibuki is a close one, but still is a girl teenager character.
Geki and Poison would be great new characters, however Karin is very unlikely. She rushes down like Fei, Makoto, dudley and now, Yun and Yang. I know she has her own style, but add her and there will be more dash characters then shoto's.
And people complain about too many grapplers. Get over it.
I had my first proper play with 3S yesterday! I bought Street Fighter Anniversary Edition from ebay and played it on my 360 - worked fine and i loved 3S. When i tried to play SSF II Turbo on that same disc it felt ancient and dull compared to 3S, no kidding.
I don't hate 3rd Strike, but I don't want the game to have full the 3rd Strike roster.
If I had to pick one, it will be Alex :)

I always felt Adon needed a move to dissolve fireballs. If not a fireball of his own.
He trained under Sagat for crying out loud, you'd think the first thing on his to-do list:

1: Find a way to deal with those F#*%ING TIGER SHOTS!
2: Keep an eye on this uppercut he's working on, make sure I don't develop a move that with either showing my back to him, or flying at him at great speed. Both of those options are only going to get me a fist on the chin.
3: Fireball, upppercut, knee... must be in the air at all times.
God not this.... people determining how good/weak Yun and Yang are with about 20 minutes of footage. I love most arguments too. People say Yang is going to be really good due to his Ultra looking cool or being able to combo super into ultra (yea because Gen is so awesome because of this).
Yang fits better into the SSF4 engine? That makes total sense too...
Yun will be top tier because he was in 3s? Dudley, Makoto, and Ibuki would like to have a word with that.
Just be patient people. Its cool to get hyped over them but hold the whole tier/balancing/broken/OP/Ass talk until we actually know more about their matchups.
I remember Dudley was "broken" before Super came out. Sagat was still broken too. Guile didnt get any help. And Cammy was hopeless...

this is why i love the damage scaling in SSF4 (as of now). Personally, I'm not fond of the damage scaling/stun dynamics in SSF4, they are not rewarding enough. But this is not 3S sadly, and it seems like for developers some room for comeback must always be left - thus the scaling, and stun not resetting it.
We still have to see whether or not Yun will deal stun during Genei-Jin (which he didn't in 3S, but hopefully he will here).

I'm not sure what you Sagat comments meant. I made a joke list that Adon seems to employed badly in order to reach his only ever goal, to beat Sagat.
My point was that considering Adon trained under Sagat, knew everything about his techniques, he still decided upon a set of moves that put really aren't very well designed to deal with Sagat's moves. Logically, if you're trying to take down a guy who like throwing out ridiculous uppercuts, it's not a very clever thing to rely a Jaguar Kick.
I main Adon, I think he's great, I just don't think his move set reflects the characters base desire.
Lastly, Jagaur Tooth is anything but free. It's so risky and low priority it's not even funny.
I hope the other changes aren't permanent except for Hakan, Guy and Makoto also if they are all permanent change Chun u2 to a charge motion.
Yeah I am guessing Rolento and Alex is gonna be one of those 6 new characters. I also would like to see Charlie/Nash but the last time I saw him, was in Guile's intro and he was a tombstone XD

i Agree. the way super looks now it needs to be balanced up instead of nerfing. And then when u look at the changes barely any of them make sense. I mean nerf cammy cs but its out for yun,yang and rufus to spam dive kicks? Seriously now.
After watch the vid i think yun and yang might have trouble,you would think they have 3 frame c short and jab but i think there 4 frames not sure,as a guy player it spells fail cause they don't have a fast start up move,so i have a feeling thier going to be throwing more just to stay in side.I like them though,and only time can tell hell i might be wrong.

Yun and Yang both look good. I never really got a chance to play yun in 3s. I would like to play him in SSF4 now. Since he reminds me of Duo Maxwell from the Gundam Wing series my favorite character who pilots the Death Scythe Gundam.

And geez, they just came out and people are already pulling off Genei Jin combos like it's nothing. It's too bad SSFIV's damage scaling will ultimately make those combos somewhat useless.
Also, Yun's theme music was pretty good, but it would be nice if they could give us the themes used in all the trailers for this game.
Yang does look fun to play, his both Ultra looked awesome & I liked everything about it, especially Yun's Ultra :D

Gen's new Crane Ultra should be based on Gekiro,
He launches an air kick sends opponent into the air, does 8 hit kicking their face. After the final Gekiro hit, he does another kick (jumping Crane LK), which kicks the opponent into the ceiling causing them to bounce off, then he flips & grabs them with his feet sending the opponent into the ground, the Ultra ends where Gen does a jumping stomp like 3 times, just like one of Gen's Lvl 3 Crane Super in SFAlpha 3 at the end.
Fei Long should have a new Ultra where he uses his Nunchaku

Yes, I do know that. I like the faster paced versions that they use in the trailers. They sound more like fighting game music.
This is awesome and I agree with [poster #221] hopefully they do add new stages. Some that come to my mind are:
- Wrestling Ring (Saturday Night Slam Masters anyone?)
- Vega's steel cage (Its a steel cage.)
- Kens Stage (It has a Boat!)
- Yun & Yang's stage (well there here aren't they.)
Of course this would be a great side addition. These would have to come out with some costumes or something, but then again that just me.

Turtling is a fair and ABSOLUTELY beatable strategy.
I'm kinda late to the party, so don't mind me if I seem redundant. I really like that vid of Yun vs Guile. I was worried that he wouldn't be able to handle fireball characters, but after seeing his push move and shoulder check can do, plus his super looks really good, he might be one of the better characters when the arcade version comes out.
As a side note, if I was Capcom, I wouldn't release the AV until 3rd quarter of next (maybe). No point in having one if you're going to give people Yun and Yang as DLC like a month after the AV is out. Wait until then so it can make some money.

The colorful designs of Yun and Yang fit into the SF4 atmosphere a lot more than the visually colorless characters like Ibuki and Makoto. Then again, Ibuki was a good choice since the original SF4 roster didn't really have a lot of characters who were on the scene.

Capcom should definitely reintroduce Retsu, Geki, Lee & Joe from SF1 just like what Alpha did for Adon, Birdie & Gen, but for SSFIV Arcade Edition I want Retsu, Eagle & maybe Geki to make it into the roster.
If Capcom can't come up with a new special move for SF1 characters, then you Capcom can read these people's ideas
I'm guessing it'll be Hugo and R.Mika will be the next pair of fighters to join SSF4.. but honestly the whole R.Mika thing seems like it only has a 10% chance of coming possible.. Hugo definitely seems possible... I mean, they've already designed this model; or a model that's similar to it in the construction stage..

And yes, I agree, Yang's Ultra 1 looks frickin' AMAZING. Add that with his Seiei Enbu teleport + mantis slash crossups (like in the trailer if the player knows how do to it well), Yang's gonna be GODLY in the right hands.

Yeah, Yun and Yang's Shaolin Palms have always been able to cancel fireballs. Someone correct me if I'm wrong in this, but in 3rd Strike, when they palm the EX version, they didn't have enough time to block or parry the extra hits, right?

Oh yes, forgot to mention that that Yun player who was pulling off all those combos with him clearly is a 3rd Strike player and has been using him in 3rd Strike, hence why he was able to pull off those bread and butter combos so easily like that.

I disagree. Lee & Retsu didn't came back for SF3, they instead made new characters based on these characters for a brand new roster. They even made a new character based on Guile, but they are not the same, Retsu uses Shorinji Kempo.
Just because Yun/Yang appear in SSFIV doesn't mean Lee was already in, these two character is one of Lee's brother. It's like saying Juni/Juli is already in as Cammy
Geki & Vega are not the same characters, because one of his special move is different from Vega, I don't remember seeing Vega throwing Shruriken & having ability to teleport. The only part I remember is that he use Ninjustu & he fights dirty just like Balrog as a dirty boxer, plus Geki is from Japan, but Vega is from Spain. they are both are nothing alike except for the claw.

Mike is basically Boxer.
Lee is basically Yun. However, with a few tweaks, he can be a little different (a la Gen's and Yang's Mantis styles: Gen uses pokes, Yang uses slashes)
Geki and Vega are completely different. As said, the only thing similar are the claws.
Makoto and Retsu uses two different styles of karate.
What's the difference between Yun and Yang's SAIII's in SF3? I thought they were both custom combos so why was Yun's better? Was it because Yun's allowed him to negate recovery on every normal and that all Yang's did was make 2 afterimages that copied his last attacks?

In SF3 Yun's Geni-jin reduces the drastically reduces the recovery time on all of his attacks. Yang's Seiei-Enbu makes a shadow follow Yang and copy his attacks putting your opponent in longer hit stun.
It wasn't the Super that made Yun better than Yang it was thier general move set. Seiei-Enbu gave Yang a good damaging Combo finished with mantis slashes for a knockdown and that's pretty good. Yun had a better set of tools to allow his Geni-jin to do insane corner juggles where all you could do was throw your hands up and yell EY untill he was done juggling you.
I don't think so, as for ninjas they are not the same characters. Ibuki & Geki uses different types of throwing weapon. For a brand new roster for SFIII, Ibuki was made to replace Geki that why the title is called "New Generations". if it has any old characters, then SFIII wouldn't have that title.

Ummm, no. Almost everyone who played 3s knows that without Genei Jin, Yun would be pretty mediocre.
His other 2 supers were pretty bad and his ex moves weren't all that good either.
Yang has the better EX moves as well as a better move set. His supers were pretty bad though. Yang just does more damage and more stun with his EX and regular moves.
Watch current 3s videos man. Yun will try and build meter and poke safely, while Yang will play aggressively. Without super, Yun is pretty weak.

it's not about the tiers i guess.. but if there weren't something genereally known, those people couldnt cry about the game. Actually its better that way.. otherwise the hate would fix on a single character and there would be complains like: "Why bother adding Yun and Yang? Character xyz will bash them anyway!" instead of "Why bother Yun and Yang? They will be low tier anyway!"

I meant that Yun's moveset is what made Geni-jin a better custom combo than Yang's. Yang is a better character based on general abilities but his custom combos are lacking while using Seiei-Enbu compared to Yun's. So everyone just uses Yang's SA2 so they get 2 bars of meter to burn.

Its so ridiculous to see all the support for Yang now. Half the people supporting him now couldn't give a damn about him before. Quite funny in a 'not so funny' way. Glad i've always been a fan. Kind of wish he was still overshadowed by Yun; felt good backing an underrated character.
Raishin Mahhaken is looking like teh sex right about now. I want to see a clearer version of the aerial attack he does in the middle of it though, looks sick.
I love the twins, but I was hoping they wouldn't have their skateboard and rollerblades with them this time around. It really dates the characters as creations of the 90s, and seems a little cheesy, making these kids so unbelievably RAD to the MAX!
Still, those videos look dope. Hope the new DLC is sooner rather than later
