Awesome...
This is like the highest leveled league in SF.
Great to see Nemo in there. Too bad there's not any of the top Boxer players included, namely Maeda Taison or Pamyuu.
"This event will also be streamed, and there's almost 700,000 yen in total prize money on the line, which comes out to about $8,000 USD, split unevenly between the first and fourth place finishers."
You might want to rephrase this...it makes it sound like the second and third placers get nothing! :3
Syntactically Yours,
Rose
Uryo has only been playing Sakura on XBL since release afaik.
really excited for this.
Just gonna call it now... Sako for the win.
p.s. Shiro?? :(
@ #17 Here's Tonpi in action:

I'm glad to see a nice variety of characters being used... It would be even better if there were no repeats!
If they keep going with GodsGardens they should make a rule that if you win, you CAN'T use the same character anymore...
...of course, I don't see it happening, but it would be interesting to see if the past winners can be successful with other characters.
Where's GamerBee? He not good enough or are these just some of the names ( top players listed only) that will be participating? I want to see his Adon in this.
Otherwise I wish they did this in the states more often.
even if the tournament is only for the japanese, it should be allowed to the japanese public to enter
12 players is a very small/restrict number for a tournament!
this tourny looks like a barbecue tourny to me, get your 12 best friends and make it....BORING!

the Japanese Public can enter, that's why Acqua, Tonpy, and Arai are there. the Top 4 godsgarden 2.5 qualify. and you have to qualify for 2.5, 16 people main event.
Godsgraden is always an top lvl invitational tournament. newbies and scrub are not allow.
need more makoto vega!
need more wildcat hakan
need more hiropon seth
because Nemo won godsgraden 2.5. Nuki doesn't play much SSF4.
why are you guys act like you are running the tournament?
@TAJK
Nemo won GodsGarden 2.5 using Chun-Li. http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2010/au...
Also, the top four GG 2.5 finishers are playing in this tournament.
Would be going for Uryo but he's not using Sakura. So if Tonpy uses Sak at least once then he'll be the guy I root for.
@TAJK: Nemo has always been the better chun-li player in SF4. 2nd place is a toss-up between Nuki and Haneyama.
i prefer makotos claw but its whatever. also gamerbee is from taiwan and this is a japanese tourny. it would be sweet though, i love his adon links.
I really want to see some new Momochi/Akuma action
Nice 1 more godsgarden..bt Where is makoto(claw) gone..n also where is alex valle, not heard him in tournaments for long time..!
"Strange, Daigo is the only Ryu player in the tourney. Imagine if the tourney was in North America..."
If this tourney was in North America there wouldn't be any Ryu's at all considering the only top players in the US that use Ryu are Chris Hu and Valle and they always lose. Ryu just isn't strong enough in this game sadly.
I want a yhc mochi vs daigo rematch, hopefully daigo learns from his mistakes and pulls of the win this time, yhc mochi good, but daigo is the best, and even the best players make mistakes, daigo is human after all you daigo haters i dont see u daigo haters winning tournaments, and b4 u pull the lame "ryu is scrub character" what characters do u use, i use Guy and i can still take out ryus/kens/akumas/sagats, its not about the character, its how u use them, oh yea dont use "dp spam" or fireball spam either, i bet u guys do tht as well
No Zagitan wow no grappler representation whatsoever that sucks.
Oi!, got my copy of the game 3 months ago, had a first to five versus Uryo, got beaten down to the ground and fast, but got myself a couple of rounds and a nice message note, ~ classy fellow, will follow his videos through the tourney.
Daigo can not win against Dhalsim with Ryu. Thats why he picked up Cammy.
ROFL , people that think jwong or sabin or whatever can even compete with these players are dreaming .....
cmon face the fact . the gap between the americans and japanese is way too far .
^Not really. Tokido is one of the best in Japan and he couldn't even get top 8 at EVO.
You guys do realize that these 12 Japs can easily destroy any tourney they entire in any part of the globe?
P.S.
Keep in mind half of this roster will be at Season's beatings too... Highly doubting a fellow US player will take it this time around either.
Only Daigo, Momochi and his girl are coming to Season's Beatings. Where are you getting half the roster?
@58 I second that.If the USA showed ANYTHING at evo,it's that we can compete with Japan's top players.Daigo came to evo and didn't get sent to losers true, but Sabin pretty much beat him @ the salty suite,'cept he sorta choked at the end.My point is,if Jwong,Sanford, and Sabin were to enter this they wouldn't just get bodied like everybody would assume they would, wish people would stop with that stupid ass line of thinking.
@teflonbtm: You can't "pretty much beat" someone. You either beat them or you don't. Sabin came close to beating Daigo, but you're completely ignoring the fact that Daigo beat a countless amount of people before and after that match.
@bananainsaneface So what if Tokido or Eita didn't come in top 8 at Evo? You can't judge the whole talent of Japan based on how two players performed at Evo. The fact of the matter is that Japan is on a much higher level than the US. I'm not saying the US would do terribly in this tournament, but I don't think that they would be able to win very many matches.
First.
Who won the last Gods Garden tourney?
