A few more items of interest came up on the Capcom-Unity PAX West stream this afternoon concerning Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Here's a bulleted recap.
• A strong implication was given that there will be a Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Fight Club in Chicago some time this month.
• Seth Killian said that the next cinematic for the game, titled Episode 2, features some amazing stuff, including new characters and will also have the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier from the Marvel Universe.
• In the current build, the X-Factor system offers a 40% damage bonus.
• Killian mentioned again that X-Men fans should be happy with Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Later on, and possibly unrelated, he added that there will be more females added to the Marvel side.
• Dante has around 40 special moves at the moment. The various button strengths make his attacks do different things, instead of slightly changing the properties, as is typical in Capcom fighters.
• There are configurable control schemes in MvC3. You can make the layout like it was in Marvel vs. Capcom 2, but it doesn't change the three attack buttons + launcher/exchange button, plus two assists format.
• Ruby Heart, of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 fame, was apparently a rejected Darkstalkers design.

Man Dante is beefed up, well not fully Happy with Cyclops gone, but well see if I'll be completely happy with X-men.. Just my favorites for X-men I would hope to see, Storm, Jean Grey, G, Apocalambitypse,Bishop, and Magneto!!! Then I would be happy if those X-men characters were in or maybe I'm asking too much lol..
It all makes sense now that Ruby Heart were meant to be part of Darkstalkers she would be a cool character if they made a new darkstalkers-she should be added on for that game.

i think elektra and psylock is in the game along with rogue but no storm and phoenix. storm is basically a thor and phoenix(jean gray) was deconfirmed.

Also bring back the complete change super for Ryu that was in MVC3 i want to play as ken, akuma and ryu... at the same time!!

Sounds like most scrubs are going to get destroyed while trying to figure out Dante (including me, because I'm horrible at marvel), but nonetheless, that sounds pretty damn awesome!
I can only hope that both Strider and Final Fight characters make an appearance in the game.

Take this with several large grains of salt:
Seth did a bit of a Sengoku Basara MvC3 tease for TGS, second time it was mentioned alongside Monster Hunter.
I'm assuming if we have a Basara character, it's Date, he was planned for TvC.
I'll be amazed if Sengoku Basara got into a crossover game before Monster Hunter did.

40 Special moves eh, better hope they've revamped the crap out of Spider-Man then.
Really, with what Spidey had to work with before, and if they're really trying to make everyone play uniquely, Spider-Sting, Web-Ball, Web-Throw and Web-Swing just won't cut it.
It thought it'd be nice is Spidey could web the sides of the screen with his Web-Ball, so that if the other character jumped into it they would be stuck. It'd at least make the move more useful.

About 40 moves? Doesn't sound scrubby at all. I'm just hoping for Spidey, Magneto, Psylocke, and Storm. For capcom, I want Nathan Spencer, Haggar(in place of Gief) and some other characters but I don't even know anymore...I just hope there's lots of characters and they are all varied like they are so far.

Please no Elektra...but a creative Monster Hunter character would be pretty awesome and random, I just hope good, different SF characters get in like Viper...no one like Ken, Akuma, Guile or Dhalsim.

Monster Hunter has some interesting characters to pick from:
Yian Kut-Ku or Rathalos:A Flying Hauzer, but with better fire attacks
Felyne Comrade: Switch between the Hammer and Pick, place bombs and traps, Flute healing Assist?
Hunter: Massive list of weapons to choose from (Melee-focused Volnutt?), Bombs and Traps, Better have a BBQ as his/her Win Animation.
I really want to see a Monster Hunter Stage, Marvel's Savage Land being overrun by Deviljho? Scary.

Mind pointing out where you found a decomfirmation of Jean Grey? I don't recall seeing anyhere anything about Jean, and the only Phoenix that was decomfirmed so far was Phoenix Wright from Ace Attorney.

Plus, she's been "dead" since 2005, makes more sense to use

Number of attacks doesn't matter that much, what matters is the priority of the attacks, for example, Captain Commando has six moves, but he relies only on one. On the other hand, Hayato has a variety of moves, and he is not precisely top tier in MVC2.
