Sorry if I'm spamming a lot of Poison stories lately everyone. Quite a few people had doubts about yesterday's story being a true hint about Poison being in the game, and I figured this might shed a bit more light on the issue.

Why do people think Hugo will be in SSF IV. The fact that he is in the background on one of the stages pretty much confirms he won't be.
Capcom would either have to remove him from the Skyscraper stage or else players would be using Hugo while Hugo was in the background cheering for himself. Makes no sense.

If Poison isn't in the game, then she'll be in a Background, and if that's the case, the Grappler roster will be even more stacked with the healthy 8' foot monster that is Hugo!!!

It is very possible for Hugo to be in the game. Though this is not street fighter related, on Tekken 5, on the poolside stage, Lee is seen in the background in his chair with women watching you fight but if you pick him, he will no longer be there. I am sure if capcom decides to add him, along with the patch they could easily make it to where Hugo will not be seen in the background if he is selected.

From what ive read, andore from ff is hugo from sf, hugo's real name is Hugo Andore, plus, where is yellow jumpsuit for fei? In an UDON comic i read, they made a refrence to the jumpsuit in fei's wadrobe. It was like the jumpsuit, cept it was a 2-piece sweater and sweatpants and he had some killer shades on, wish i had a picture <(-_-)>

With the speed they're turning these characters around, I doubt it'll be a character like Poison, who's never been in a fighter before. It's quicker to bring in characters with established movesets, surely?
( @28 I'd love to have Eagle too, but I doubt that's happening; he'd be a more credible option than Poison though...)

Not to put down anyone wanting Poison in, but people tweet @Yoshi_OnoChin with their requests and he usually responds to ones that are appearing a lot. NASH_FOR_SSF4 and POISON_FOR_SSF4 have both been flooding him with their requests and trying to get others to do the same, they're manipulating Twitter in attempt to stuff the ballot but it's probably not going to work.
It's about time Fei Long got an alternate costume I liked. I would've preferred the iconic Game of Death jumpsuit, but this one's still good.

Nobody knows. Quite a while ago, Capcom mentioned that any Super Street Fighter IV content that changes the core gameplay (like championship mode in IV, and tournament mode in Super IV) wouldn't cost anything while unnecessary ones like costumes would. Then they gave a conflicting answer later on when someone asked about new special moves being added, saying we might have to pay. Then not too long again, I think it was Seth Killian that said costume sales help put out free content. If the trend continues where costumes sell well and Capcom puts out free content like championship and tournament, we might be getting the characters for free. The new packs of costumes start coming out in autumn, before the characters ever would (Super Street Fighter IV Arcade is being released in December), so Capcom might be seeing how the new costumes sell before making a decision.

Poison still isn't confirmed...not that I think he/she would be a bad character. Capcom are innovative and very creative, they'll make it fun for us no matter what. ;)
Still, Poison is not established like other fights. I'm sure Capcom wants to port fighters, since it's quicker and cheaper, therefore Alex, Rolento, Karin, R. Mika are more feasible.

Poison has never been a fighter is very lawl worthy. reminds me of arguments against Ridley and Olimar for brawl.
She started off with just as many moves as Hugo, and look at the big boy now.
Personally i'd rather see a character who already exist being further explored [not that way] than a new character created, loosely based on some small element of a previously made character who already works.
and i'm almost positive SOMEONE here has worked out the Hugo Loophole. Just like all enemies in 2D beat-em ups' a simple palette swap will make a brand new character

and when it comes down to it, do you want corporate telling the gamemakers what to put in a new entry in a classic series, or the gamers? alot of people were really pushing for Ridley, sure myself included, and it seemed silly to have such unbalanced representation for some of the franchises. Metroid with just Samus, but Earthbound CONTINUES to only release in Japan and Fire Emblem gets *surprise* two blue haired swordsmen, and i don't think anyone needs to mention the whole Kirby Thing.
but off topic, Loophole is a satisfying option for the fans and the developers IMO.
Developers can make an old character brand new by changing or adding moves or taking away some which would not worked out so well in the transition [a million Makoto fans still shed a tear now and then]
Gamers get to play a brand new character made of an old character.

Correct me if I'm wrong, when Final Fight came out in Japan, Poison was in the game as a female character. But when the game hits America, they changed her gender to become a male character because they didn't like the idea of hitting women. Make her 100% female in ssf4 is she's in the game.

@MALDA: Hugo and Andore (Japanese and phonetic method of spelling/saying "Andre") are the same person.
@samadriel: Poison WAS in a fighting game before. She was in the Final Fight fighting game on the Sega Saturn.
These are just MY opinions, but I don't care much for Yun and Yang at all and Ingrid feels like one of those KOF characters that just doesn't feel like she fits in with the rest of any roster in ANY game she's been in. She has such a Sailor Moon thing going with all of the silly sparkle effects from her moves. She came from a crappy fighting game (CFJ) and shouldve never tainted SFZ3's roster with her ill-written presence.
Eagle has just as much chance of getting into SSF4 as Poison, to be fair. Poison is just more popular. I prefer Maki from FF2 than I do her handheld SFZ3 self.
I would put THE crappiest character of any other franchise's game into SSF4 before I'd put another silly little girl with supposed godlike powers.
I would like to Finally play someone like Karin's butler or onep of Cammy's black ops teammates.
Goutetsu could be written back to life like how Gouken was. Tom from Alex's backstory would be interesting with the cane, putting it into the pre-SF3 timeline. How about Guy's master, Zeku? I wouldn't mind playing Gen's SFZ self for an alt costume. It looks like We'll get Chun Li's Zero/Alpha outfit. I want Cammy's too.
Vega/Bison WITH his cape AND with his SFZ series moveset. Nash/Charlie and/or Remy... One flash kicker is FUNNER than just one.

I for one do not think Charlie should be added to SSF4. Not because of any similarities to Guile or because of any kind of popularity contest, but I think his legacy as a supposedly dead fighter is far too important to abondon just yet. Over all Charlie has been one of the more interesting chacacters in the story because of his "sacrifice" and if he is to return it should be built up alot more that just a DLC announcment would bo for him. I bet that sounds fairly stupid to most people though.

I just hear whining about to put even more characters into SFIV. In the end 90% of you all will take Ryu anyway, because of reasons like "oh, has always been my main" and shhit like that. 35+ characters in the roster and everyones main is ryu. I'm lovin Fei's new alt,goes perfectly with the movie-star status.
The Yelow tracksuit is nice but it's been done to(game of) death,so I'm glad Capcom is taking a different approach.
And I think that Hugo is gonna be in the game and Poison will make a quick appearance at the start of the fight (and she'll be in the background of the Metro City stage if Hugo is fighting).
Tho Poison would be interesting to see as a fighter.
Charlie could also be added..because Ono confirmed that he isn't dead but his whereabouts are unknown..

The Zero/Alpha series just SHOWED us many possible ways that he died, but his body was never found in any of them AND he was never confirmed as actually being dead - the same way with how Gouken was believed to be dead, for so many years. In the canon Street Fighter lore, Gouken was only said to have been "defeated" by Gouki/Akuma, but it was never said that he was actually killed. -And I AM speaking of literary material from official sources from the past.
Guile's personal quest to find out what REALLY happened to Nash/Charlie has been an ongoing thing since the RELEASE of the very first version of Street Fighter 2 and in the canon story, since DURING the Zero/Alpha series.
Keep in mind that SF4 and SSF4 is the story of what happens BETWEEN SF2 and SF3. Neither Guile NOR Nash are in SF3, and for SOME SF characters, SF4 is their LAST chance to appear in ANY SF game before they are "no shows" in the SF3 series, UNTIL some of them MIGHT get written into the story of a Street Fighter FIVE.
No, I think Nash's mystery has seen waaaaaaay too much cockteasing, so far, and for too many years now.
By the way, in the cutscene where Abel witnesses Guile performing that "familiar move" (Sonic Boom), they never made it clear, whether or not he saw Nash do it at all, and was most likely referring to seeing Seth do it, after Seth assimilated the move, or from "remembering" the move through that very same memory in his OWN head, given the fact that Abel is "one of" those Seth clones/copies.
Also, however, we never got ANY confirmation on whether or not Seth assimilated Nash's sonic boom, or Guile's.
You see, if Capcom wanted to, and if they haven't done it already, they could always just say that Seth got the sonic boom from Nash, instead of Guile. -Or they could confirm Nash's death, give us some freaking closure already, and just say that he watched one of Guile's fights and adapted it from observation, rather than ever meeting with Guile, in person.
I mean, when you play Guile and reach Seth in SF4, that IS the first time they meet in the story, to actually fight.
If you watched the animated film that came with the collector's edition of vanilla SF4, Guile DOES meet Seth before he does in the game's story. -Just not to fight.

pls no poison, there are much more characters with more demand. Like the obvious ones (elena, Q, Karin, R.Mika, somehow Hugo) but also the not so popular but wanted cast like Birdie or Eagle. if they really want to add poison, leave her as a story element and no playable character >.<

Now I know he can't be talking bout seth with that statement because he wants to take down s.i.n along with chunl li. In if you read the book bu udon they did a story where charlie saved abel from a burning building in took him to a group of mercenarys where they trained him.

i main el fuerte and fei with 14 different secondaries i like variety and will definitely use these characters if they come out as d.l.c. not all of us use ryu and his cronies they are boring to play as and watch and just don't appeal to me. never really played sf3 so would like to have a team consisting of dud, ibuki, yang and yun. hopefully they can add new trials as dlc for these characters because if they are just for online play i will be disappointed.

Yeah but it isn't about the people who main Ryu/Ken and all the other shoto-clones.
It's about having the option to choose the different characters if you want to.

You can't design and release a character thats completely female then just say hey thats a tranny, after some crying in the 90's. A tranny guy doesn't look like that. I know alot of you kids have never seen a woman outside of chun li and are all completely gay but seriously. Plus im sick of ff characters doubling as sf characters too to be honest though, lets see some more new characters not reruns of past ones. Make a 6th or 7th shoto crap character and make sure hes just as garbage newb friendly, so we can see more then 5 in a row online........laugh.

FYI: Poison is considered in japanese a "futanari" (girl with a penis) and in usa a post-operatd tranny, so now as "real" as a man can be close to a girl.
also ono stated in an interview back in 2008 that Poison wont be added to street fighter 4 at all. tho it's outdated this can still taken serious. I'd also roll with the opinion that hugo will be playable with poison beeing in his intro + metro city stage when he's on.

Obituaries aka dumbass: First of all, this is a game - so they can make a transexual guy look any way they want. Second, have you ever seen a transexual male? Obviously not.
Just quit these phobic attitudes and stop denying the facts. In early development, Poison was female but have been officially stated and confirmed as a transexual male a number of times(post-op in US). You don't call characters like Sniper Wolf(Metal Gear), Samus Aran(Metroid) or Fang(Final Fantasy XIII) male do you? Because initially they were.
Btw, using a sexuality in a negative term shows how completely stupid you are. As far as I know, only kids do that.

I find it kind of funny how alot of people are mad about characters who haven't been actually confirmed yet. Here's the thing capcom when these new characters as DLC we will have to pay for them. Capcom will have something for everyone. Rumors say 6 characters but we should all know by now when capcom says 6 they really mean 10 or more. The whole point this country isn't the only one with blogs and capcom has more than just America to think about. The japaneese really love yun and yang and will beast with them. I can't comment on poison but if she is a charge character I'll give her a chance. From the rumblings I've been hearing capcom has really big plans for this game but no one can pinpoint what that is. But I have a feeling that the true old school fans will be happy. As far as the new characters here is what I'm predicting from what I'm hearing from different sources. Yun, Yang, Hugo, Alex, Oro, Urien, Charlie, Rolento, Karin, R. Mika and Poison. Remember this is my speculation but one of my sources has been dead on so far with the MvC3 roster so far so i'm listining. But I guess we won't really know until capcom says something.

Street fighter and Street Fighter 89 was meant to be merged together It started with the Alpha/Zero Series. Poison would not be a bad addition to the game seeing how her and cody would be the only actual 'Street Fighters' in the game. But like someone said in one of these post even if they are added people are just gonna play who they usually play anyway.
I think the whole alpha cast should be added along with the Street Fighter 3 cast except gill urien.

I don't feel like any of what Ono's saying is hinting towards Poison being a playable character. I have no concern or desire to have Poison be a playable character. She hasn't been up to this point except for in one game, which I believe was a 3D fighter. They'd have to create a total and complete new moveset for her/him(whatever) and I doubt they plan on doing that. So boo to Poison, not interested.

i said it's merely a possibility. Hugo himself is in some ways a rip off of the Andore characters, as Capcom has not officially stated a link between the characters.
the reason i even mentioned the possibility is because of Makoto's turnout in SFIV; she lost what made her a favorite in the transition. i mean take for example Urien. If he were in the game, how do you think Urien mains would feel? His Moves would be switched around just like Ibuki's were. If there were no longer the ability to use Aegis Reflector in insane combos, some players would be upset. and theres always a chance they'd take it upon themselves to give him a brand new super.

Poison is SAD. Sexy Ass Dude. Seriously though. I just want to play the game with new characters. Whoever they add I will use until I'm satisfied. I didn't want a single 3rd strike character, but once SSF4 dropped I played them and enjoyed all 3 in a different way. I still rock my original mains, but not all of us play SSF4 at tournament level. I love having a 6 player random endless battle. It makes for some very fun nights.
People should stop arguing with each other, and just relax. It's just a game!

So quick question Cornward. along with your insults, i'm sure there's some aspect of your life you aren't happy about but we're not here to discuss that.
What are your opinions on some of the other characters? Do you generally welcome all newcomers? Or are their characters that you wish to see implemented. The ONLY reason i say re-introduce Hugo as Andore is because the dev teams clearly enjoy want to make some new characters. It satisfies bringing back a classic and adding something new at the same time. There's nothing wrong with clone characters when they're different. And seeing Hugo in the background and playing as him is just plain odd. That's like a playing Shadaloo stage with Cammy while she's in a tube in the background.
but you've officially made up your mind regarding the matter, on which characters are included, despite the fact that i don't see your name in the SSFIV credit roll, and on my intelligence. If Poison was supposed to be born with a male body and a female brain.. and then changed her body to female.. she is a girl. Yes she's a transsexual girl, but she's still a girl. She's not a 'dude' or a 'transsexual male' ..I personally find the word 'tranny' to be pretty crappy too.
Another thing.. You may think that a girl who is transsexual can't be 'pretty' ..or that they must look and sound like a man in drag. But I guarantee that there are many trans women out there that you'd find attractive and you wouldn't know they were trans unless they told you. Not that a person's appearance should determine whether or not you respect who they are.

what's the deal with Capcom making Poison transsexual in North America? ..so they wouldn't get in trouble because hitting a woman would be bad here? but hitting a transsexual woman is just fine??? ....if this is the case, that's just wrong.

As an aside, this crap is a major part of why I have mixed feelings about Poison. You just *know* her very presence in the game would bring out vast, as yet barely tapped reserves of boorishness in the community as a whole, and having to see crap like that when I'm just looking for mindless entertainment does not appeal.
