With all of these dropped hints, I'd be surprised if they didn't add Yun and Yang.
Personally, I don't mind their addition, as long as Elena/Alex make the cut as well. Besides, they're not that bad. Don't see why there's such a fuss over their inclusion.

It's obvious Capcom is going to add them to save money (since they're supposedly similar), but they better kick ass. Honestly, I don't mind. Because R. Mika looks horrible and I doubt she'll get played at all, I'd rather these guys take her over. However, I'm really, REALLY hoping Alex/Elena/Rolento make it into this game. Elena should be a given, given the fact that we have an African stage and she barely missed the cut in a certain character poll, same goes for Rolento with his Metro City stage. Someone even mentioned they saw a construction who looked like Rolento on that stage.
And honestly I have to think, if they're gonna add Yun/Yang, there's no way they wouldn't think Alex won't be a beast in this game. I might seriously main him if he gets in.

Yang is a really awesome and totally underrated character in 3s. Some of the best matches I EVER saw were of KO's Yang. If you are worried about how good Yang will fit into this, he's one of the most exciting and fun characters to watch and he should transfer over well to SF4.
His command dash and slashes, plus his in your face game are just wicked. This guy is gonna beast in SSF4! And be fun to watch!!

yun and yang are perfect simply because you know they're rivals and they're easy to be placed in the story line. Yun would be my second for sure. He was a beast in 3rd strike. I agree heavily that Elena is a must just because her fighting style is so different from the rest. I dought they will have more then one (if even that much) new characters; So lets see Rolento and Rise Charlie back from the dead. charlie will be different from guile like ken is to ryu (faster, weaker, more combos and style, less priority).
So yun, yang, rolento, elena, charlie and a new person is my wish list.

yeah I allways use to win more with charlie most would say him in guile are exacly the sam but they ain I can't remember what alpha game it was but charlie was the only character with a dash in he did things so much cooler in rolento omg he would shut alot of things down foreal

Cornwad, why are you such a hater of these two? They were both great in 3rd Strike, and there is certainly a lot of demand for them. I will repeat what I said not too long ago. I am going to guess that you either:

C. You've obviously never played 3rd Strike, then.
D. They're not like Rufus at all. Sure, they may share some similarities, but the differences far outweigh the similarities. If you keep saying this, it's really obvious that you've never played 3rd Strike.
Like, just 3 out of 4 of the things you just listed are pointing out that you've obviously never played 3rd Strike.

Ok. Let me break down the photos.
On the character select screen, the character that is highlighted is yang. Its his back with the usual red top (his face is just blurred out). You can also see the light blue Player1 highlight around the icon on the far right (on the right of Hakan).
On the screen with cammy, it is Yun laying down for a tuant i suppose. You can make out the grey pants and the white top just barely.
The photo with blanka wearing Q's hat... He's in 4sho. I dont know why though.
If these 3 characters are really what they picked, i shall 4ever feel skeptical of capcom claiming they take an honost look at the community boards.

It's stupid to complain about boring characters when we got other cast whom you say are boring, as well. Rufus is really not like Yun and Yang. Again, if you've played 3rd Strike. You should know this, but it's obvious you haven't. All they have similar are the dive kicks and Yun's bend palm, but that's nothing compared to Ryu, Ken, and Akuma who all have Tatsumakis, Shoryukens, and Hadokens. Even then, Rufus' dive kick and Yun and Yang's are different. Yun and Yang's go in different angles leaving your opponent guessing whereas Rufus' just goes in one direction. Does Rufus have Mantis Slashes? No. Does he have a Shaolin Palm? No. Does he have a rolling kick? No. Does he have a launching punch? No. Does he have a shoulder tackle? No. Does he have a jumping kick? No. Does he have a command grab? No.

I can see where you're getting at. However, Gen's kick isn't like Yang's, either. Yang's roll and you can't keep kicking afterwards unlike Gen's.
If they were compared to anyone, it would be Fei Long solely because of the Rekkas and slashes like you said, but that's only one similar move compared to Ryu, Ken, and Akuma who have 3.

Ok Yun and yang is in especially that right cabinet character select screen. It shows the scrawny looking Yun or Yang.
I'm OK with these guys really. I hope Karin and Elena are in. Rolento looks like a sure bet but who knows?
If the rumors are true that there will be at least 6 then I would assume Yun, Yang, Elena or alex from 3rd strike. and Rolento Karin and mika from alpha. Who knows?
With the additional characters and possible balance tweaks/buffs I'm looking forward to this update. Go Capcom.

They real question is if this comes to console how much will it be. I can tell u right now theres really nobody that they can add that i would pay for, but spilting the community(im struggling to get green bar games in the northeast now) will be a bad thing. Force everyone to update to play online, and charge to use the new characters. Problem solved.

Not too exciting, Yun, and Yang aren't really "crowd pleasers" i'd like to see Evil Ryu, Remy, Charlie, Elena, Q, Oro, and Karin, Juni or Rainbow. Don't misunderstand, Yun, and Yang are probably equal to Oro, or Q getting put in, but not quite as intriguing. Yun, and Yang are not anything (i feel) to get excited of, tbh i'd rather have Alex then them. At that, Alex is a character that im very apathetic toward seeing put it. If i had it my way, which i apparently wont lol, i'd have just have Evil Ryu, Charlie, and Elena put in, and deliberately make Evil Ryu, OP. lol Don't judge me, im only human :( (Or am i?) who knows? lol. I wonder why people think they are a waste just because Rufus is in the game.. To me unless I am missing somthing, that is the only thing similar that he has. Everything else is all Rufus. And Gen has a dive kick... Its a little different but its a dive kick, would that mean Rufus should never have been made?
As for all the "its a waste of two slots" comments... Try as you might, they did not vanish... the slots are taken by these two and I am pretty sure it will be explained in time why they made it. The weird thing is in most cases... it seems the more you want someone in this game, they become worse than you thought.. many thought be Makoto was easily one of the top in SFIII, she would do the same here and yet you all got her... now you label her as "sucky"... People thought Dudley would be the new Sagat.... Seems here is nowhere near that, I even think that in the current list.. Though Sagat is lower, he is still above Dudley.. I am wrong about that then I take it back.. Those are a couple of examples...
All I am saying is, quit being so greedy... do not get bummed when you do not get your character, quit thinking every character they add that you personally do not like is a waste of a slot... Regardless how weak a character appears to be... if they had no virtual chance of winning, I am sure they would have never been added.
But meh... I am sure the arguments will continue so please... continue.

What I really to know are what kind of changes will be made to them (if any). The system in SSF4 doesn't let you build super meter as much in 3S, so there probably won't be as many uses of Genei-Jin (if that even makes the cut as one of Yun's supers/ultras).

I never played any of the SF games between 2 Turbo (not ST, 2 turbo) and 4, but my immediate impression is that these two are scheiße (thanks eventhubs censorship), just going by how they look. And just going by how they look I want Karin and Rolento in.

No one can argue with your opinion it's up to you who you like or not, but it's not the best judge of any character to go solely off thier appearance. At the very least you should check out videos of thier fighting styles in action, or if you can try them out yourself. If you still don't like either of them after playing them thats your decision but at least give um a chance first.

I don't know why Capcom (namely Ono) do this stupid crap, why not just reveal everything when planned instead of giving these stupid unclear images that still display the obvious? They always do it and it really is getting lame now, well whatever.
Really they better not screw them both over, Genei-Jin better be good, it better be an Ultra and complete with lp shoulder and f.HP corner juggling, can't forget f.MK for corner carrying when you land a juggle

Do you have a source on how often people do or do not choose these characters in their respective games? Or are you just making stuff up? Just curious, because I myself would pick three of those people pretty often if they were available.
I would expect any character that is added will be chosen frequently for a brief while. But I also do not fully understand the idea that a character should have to be frequently chosen in the past to be added now. If the most famous characters are already included, why not add characters who may have an appeal for a different crowd? Isn't this the very purpose of adding more characters? If they wanted all the characters to be played heavily and equally, you'd probably end up 35+ shotos, but this certainly would not make a better game.

At least in Yuns case he was one of the most common characters chosen, partly due to him being very high in 3S tier lists. Yang was chosen about 1 /30th of the fights I've seen and in 3S thats pretty high considering the amount of Kens & Chuns. I guess all im getting at is very often supposed tier rankings determine how often a character is chosen so even the most obscure character in one game could be the next vanille Sagat. So deciding if a chacter should be added based on past popularity / use has little effect on how they often the will be used in SSF4.
Unless it's Ryu.

See, this is exactly what I hate about TWIN characters. You can't have one without the other. I wouldn't care so much if vanilla had SF3 characters to begin with and they'd already been in the roster, but the timing here is just fing ludicrous. Only six characters are rumored at most, and TWO of them go to THESE GUYS!?
If they're gonna do an even split between SF3 and Alpha again, that means there's only room left for Elena, and Alex ain't getting in no matter how vocal we are about him. WTF man!?!??

All you people complaining right now need to relax. I'm quite sure when Capcom released SSF4, in their mind, they were already set and ready to introduce Yun and Yang as the next two characters for DLC. Before any kinda character demand started. Now it makes sense that after seeing what or who people wanted in the game that Capcom pushed the date back to add in those characters that people want, i.e Alex, Rolento, Karin, or whoever else. Before anyone continues to complain about Yun and Yang being the two characters of Capcom's current choice, just sit and wait to see what else might be in store.

I liked Guile in Vanilla. I used to play him a lot in old school Super Turbo, and his iteration in IV wasn't as bad as most peopled assumed. Now he's stacked with just a few minor upgrades and he's good for people who like charge characters and can also put a lot of pressure.
I had mained Ryu in IV, but mine wasn't up to par as others were, so I bummed around and landed on Sakura. She still sucks in my opinion, but I have better outings with her.
I need someone new to get me interested; and seeing as I've never played Yun or Yang in 3, I might as well try them.

after all is said and done and this ( hopefully ) new wave of characters even beyond yun and yang is over, i would like someone to pose the question to the development team of how far along were these characters befor ssf4 was released? not to say they could have been on disc. what i mean is were there early 3d models made or something like that. because when you hear ono or someone say 'oh yeah this character just missed being in the game', it makes me want to know do you mean just selecting them or were they just not finished or what.

Funny thing is that NO CHARACTER IS AS GOOD OR AS BAD AS THEY WERE IN PREVIOUS GAMES. Don't get excited for a character you are going to complain was too nerfed or the playstyle is completely different. People pouting how adding this character and that character would be pointless, add Dudley/Makoto instead. I saw a LOT more people demanding those characters be in than I see people playing them. I'm actually excited to see these 2 in, it'll add more of a variety and please the fans, I'm all for it.
For those who want Alex...Sorry, but it seems like a stretch.
There is nothing wrong with Alex as a character, it's something that was included in the mechanics of the SF3 series, the "Turned-Around-Stun" state that happens after a Flash Chop. It would be easy to just tweak the Arcade game so that feature is included, because they CANNOT have Alex without it, it's literally stapled to Alex as a character.
Here's the main problem; If they are planning on having the new fighters for SSF4 Arcade being added to console versions via DLC/Update, I don't think they can make every single existing character in SSF4 be able to have that animation through said DLC/Update. If anyone has ever heard of a game adding an entirely new animation/mechanic to a game via DLC/Update, please tell me now, if not, I highly doubt we will see Alex in console version unless they don't release the Arcade features as DLC/Update and just have the new characters exclusively to the Arcade system.

You can tell the person on the left side of the character select screen is Yun from his distinct blue and yellow hat. And the character on the right side of the screen is Yang most likely because of his red sleeveless shirt.

It's called building hype for a product, Capcom wants people arguing about it because it builds suspense. People have the right to hate on or like a character for whatever reason they choose, just leave if you disdain the arguing because it's not going to stop. lol
Still, with such limited slots, I THINK it would've been better to have one of the twins playable with the other in the background.
Other demanding characters = Alex/Elena/Rolento/R. Mika? (she looks horrible to me)/Charlie (not really someone I'd want in, but I notice he gets some demand)
I wouldn't really care...if they put Alex/Rolento into the game. I'm still sensing Elena is gonna be put in, but I highly doubt I'd ever play her. I like grapplers, so I'd want to play with Alex. Rolento just looks....sick. xD

Honestly, it's not just the fact that the twins are being added. It's the fact that they're being added with the LAST chance of anymore characters being included for now, and the less spaces there are, the more people would complain/jump for joy based on who gets in.
No would would care if were getting.....say, 8 characters.
Still, it's nice to see Capcom putting in the hard work for us. When they finish, remember to say thank you.

If they can add Yun/Yang/Adon they can add Charlie since the former showed up in cutscenes, the only that hasn't is Charlie. Also Yun and Yang are about as similar as Charlie and Guile are, so I don't see why not.

Just because we got 2 more dive kick users doesn't mean anything. We got Ryu, Ken, and Akuma who got 3 of the exact same moves, and a bunch of people who can shoot projectiles. Rufus, Yun, and Yang overall have entirely different moves.

Well from what I remember... I do not think they ever found charlie's body.. I thought they put him down as dead in the storyline but since they could not recover the body, Guile still holds hope or something to that extent.

lol, if you're you're a Gen user and are looking forward to playing Yun or Yang you're going to be very disappointed. That's like saying I love Sagat so Adon is going to be great right? No, in reality not much alike alike. The closest there is is Fei and Yang. But Yang doesnt have a DP or a chicken wing. Don't get me started on Yun and Rufus comparisons. That just gets stupid.

However, I think its funny how so many people be demanding these characters, yet when they come out, people complain about how he/she dont play like they are used to so they complain about that. I actually happy when Ibuki was announced and i still play with her till this day. Either you stay faithful to the character you want or don't ask for them at all.
Oh well I cant wait till Ono makes a Street Fighter Anthology where they take every single character (including The Original Street Fighter and hopefully include Final Fight Chars*coughhaggar&poison*) and put them in a game together with a selection to play with them the way they were intendend to; rather it be from Isms, Ultras, Super Art Selction, and ect. I feel thats the only way everyone would be pleased. If not, theirs always M.U.G.E.N. (Inb4 I get flamed for this.)
PS, If Rufus is the same as Yun And Yang all because of that stupid dive kick, You can say Rufus, Cammy, and Gouken is a copy of Gouki/Akuma.

Player two looks kinda like they chose Urien. Also....that is not Qs hat...that's a cowboy hat. Q wears a fedora which doesn't have the indention at the top where you would grab it, and Qs hat is brown with a red stripe. Where that cowboy hat is black, much like Kens cowboy hat.

You want to know what else is funny. People want Alex and Rolento but haven't gave a reason for why they want them (other then Rolento's stage being in the game, same with Elena.) I'll I can say is I can't wait for Alex and Rolento to be announced. Not to play as them, but to actually see how many people are going to pick them online.
P.S I think I'm the only person who would play as R.mika and Karin if they got added. :(

It's either Alex or elena now that yun and yang have been nearly confirmed. now for the other 3? I really really really really really really really really really really hope Karin is in as well as rolento. The final one is a plus.

It might not be hard, but through an update? That kind of thing is normally programmed through the game initially, not from an update. With every character being forced to have this animation, who knows if character-specific hitbox glitches or anything else unforeseen might happen due to it? I really don't know, if they were to do it, they would have to really surprise me.

@Chun-Li- I don't buy it. Stun/Falling animations are programmed into the attacks, not the system. Yun and Yang are getting ultras that will force characters into the same positions like everyone else. A simple turn-around from Alex's flash chop is no different, and should take little to no effort to get 3D models to comply as opposed to animating individual sprites.

It's almost certainly yang on the select screen. If you look closely by the shoulder you could see what looks like the beginning of a "Y" in the area where the character's name usually is. And I'm pretty sure the white that people think is Urien's hair is just the top of South America but the picture gives it a white-ish glow.

not really to thrilled about this news, as i was never really a big yun/yang player in the sf3 series. however, although in the beginning of sf4's creation, i hated the direction capcom went in as far as the graphics and what not, but the game's design has grown on me rapidly.
i can't front, it's a beautiful game, and honestly, i'd like to see all of sf's characters (except EX) modeled in sf4 format lol. back to being realistic - i don't care who else they add in, as long as chuck nash is among the additions. since the original alpha, he's been my favorite character.
and enough with the "pick guile in his alt, and you have charlie!" i can't stress enough how f&*^#@g stupid that is. if you pick guile in his alt, you have guile in a charlie costume - THAT'S IT!
like i've said in other posts hating on chuck, yeah him and guile share the same special move set, but people seem to forget about normal attacks (which play a major role), the priority of attacks as opposed to others, etc...things like this that make the characters different in alot of ways. hell they could even give charlie his air-flash kick from the vs. series. be imaginitive.

I honestly believe that Rolento and Alex deserve to be in before anyone else.
Because they are honestly on everyones list more than any other character. I don't even like Elena, but she is probably 3rd, right next to Karin.
I believe all 4 of these characters deserve to get in way before anyone else, because that's just being fair. They are rated as the most wanted in on most forums so it's not just random.
I honestly believe Charlie should be in too. I feel as though there are so many plots in many characters stories that fit in with him being the missing piece.
I'd understand if he wasn't in. I know most people think he's just another clone, but he's honestly not. I think storyline wise is more important than a little disagreement like that.
I would be very upset if Poison makes the cut. Same with R. Mika. People like her, but not as much as most of the characters I mentioned above. I thought Capcom listened to their fans.

I don't mind that much that Yang is in (even though he has a few of his moves spread out among Rufus, Guy, Juri, etc.), i do recognize that he will be getting a lot of 3S love and the top players will want to get dibs on him, for sure.
Yang, on the other hand, imho, doesn't bring much/enough to the table. I wish his slot was given to Alex/Rolento/Elena/R. Mika. Why? Because those are the 4 most sought after characters (with Karin almost making the cut) that are colorful (im not making a racist comment, just pointing out their personalities and fighting style) and have a unique fighting style (except maybe for R. Mika who is "El Gief"). BUT, if there are indeed, 6 characters, then add my list and yun/yang, and i will be so happeh! I don't like Karin or Ingrid. :3

Overall (in general), i still think we don't need any new characters AT ALL. Period. 10 new stages would be more welcome by me then 6 new characters that will be thrown down the tier list and never get played (exceptions being rolento and yun)

Yang has plenty to bring to the table, and will translate far better than Yun actually. Yang wasn't super reliant on juggles like Yun, so that won't effect him much.
Along with having the command throw that switches places (and lets him recover first and combo from it) and having the triple slashes (which are nice for pressure), his rolling kick and double palm not only represents mindgame opportunities (using a light version of rolling kick is pretty much instant kick, while you could delay it with the other 2 versions to trick the opponent into letting their guard down, and you can cancel double palm), the rolling kick went under fireballs (which could be useful to punish random fireballs by doing HK roll into that rising kick super).
In addition, he had the dive kick, which allows much pressure and mindgames since he has 3 different versions of the dive kick as well, along with his nice normals, making him a really good pressure character. And he has that teleporting command dash, useful for closing the distance and messing your opponent up at the same time.
They really need to fix the pushback on his lk mk hk Target though, it's worthless if they don't fix it.

I think both Bros will be a good addition to the game. As a Yun/Yang player, I now have a real reason to play the game. I think because of the way the game is, Yang may be a little better, however I have to say that if they do give Yun Genei Jin, I think they should leave it the same. The reason: damage scaling. The damage scaling alone could balanced Genei JIn in a big way.
•100% damage for first and second hits of a combo.
•80% damage for third hit.
•70% damage for fourth hit.
•60% damage for fifth hit.
•50% damage for sixth hit.
•40% damage for seventh hit.
•30% damage for eighth hit.
•20% damage for ninth hit.
This is basically how it works in the game. While I think the first couple of hits should do good damage, I dont think it will do nearly the amount of damage it would in 3S. Plus it it is an ultra, I say it should work like this. If you have half an ultra bar, then it have half the time a full ultra would. A full one doing more damage. I really excited that Yun and Yang are in the game and will be skilled fighters.
