Update: Yun and Yang all but confirmed for Super Street Fighter 4

meh, I don't mind yun and yang but are they really worth using up two slots?....

hmmm as a disappointed Gen player i would love to give these guys a try.

With all of these dropped hints, I'd be surprised if they didn't add Yun and Yang.

Personally, I don't mind their addition, as long as Elena/Alex make the cut as well. Besides, they're not that bad. Don't see why there's such a fuss over their inclusion.

Why is Capcom building up so much suspense for these characters?

As long as it's the Third Strike versions and not New Generation's. They were exactly the same.

It's obvious Capcom is going to add them to save money (since they're supposedly similar), but they better kick ass. Honestly, I don't mind. Because R. Mika looks horrible and I doubt she'll get played at all, I'd rather these guys take her over. However, I'm really, REALLY hoping Alex/Elena/Rolento make it into this game. Elena should be a given, given the fact that we have an African stage and she barely missed the cut in a certain character poll, same goes for Rolento with his Metro City stage. Someone even mentioned they saw a construction who looked like Rolento on that stage.

And honestly I have to think, if they're gonna add Yun/Yang, there's no way they wouldn't think Alex won't be a beast in this game. I might seriously main him if he gets in.

well i for one will play the new characters but the fact is they can add all the characters they want but still 90% of online battles will still be with ryu.

Yang is a really awesome and totally underrated character in 3s. Some of the best matches I EVER saw were of KO's Yang. If you are worried about how good Yang will fit into this, he's one of the most exciting and fun characters to watch and he should transfer over well to SF4.

His command dash and slashes, plus his in your face game are just wicked. This guy is gonna beast in SSF4! And be fun to watch!!

yun and yang are perfect simply because you know they're rivals and they're easy to be placed in the story line. Yun would be my second for sure. He was a beast in 3rd strike. I agree heavily that Elena is a must just because her fighting style is so different from the rest. I dought they will have more then one (if even that much) new characters; So lets see Rolento and Rise Charlie back from the dead. charlie will be different from guile like ken is to ryu (faster, weaker, more combos and style, less priority).

So yun, yang, rolento, elena, charlie and a new person is my wish list.

yeah I allways use to win more with charlie most would say him in guile are exacly the sam but they ain I can't remember what alpha game it was but charlie was the only character with a dash in he did things so much cooler in rolento omg he would shut alot of things down foreal

i hate yun and yang...but its never bad trying out someone new so ill see how this "DLC" turns out...but i really want karin and mika if capcom confirms those 2 theirs no point in me waiting for the other characters to be announce because thats all i want...so im still waiting for now..

Seriously? These two? I mean I thought they were okay in 3S, but there's waaaay more characters I would have wanted in over the two of them. Where's Elena? Where's Rolento? Where's Alex or R. Mika?

B. We got Ryu, Ken, and Akuma who basically have the exact same move-sets and you're complaining about having two characters that are totally different?!
C. You've obviously never played 3rd Strike, then.
D. They're not like Rufus at all. Sure, they may share some similarities, but the differences far outweigh the similarities. If you keep saying this, it's really obvious that you've never played 3rd Strike.

It's to blurry I can't see it. ALthough I really like Yang so I look forward to playing him but no matter who is added I just hope they are competative and fun to play.

Ok. Let me break down the photos.

On the character select screen, the character that is highlighted is yang. Its his back with the usual red top (his face is just blurred out). You can also see the light blue Player1 highlight around the icon on the far right (on the right of Hakan).

On the screen with cammy, it is Yun laying down for a tuant i suppose. You can make out the grey pants and the white top just barely.

The photo with blanka wearing Q's hat... He's in 4sho. I dont know why though.

If these 3 characters are really what they picked, i shall 4ever feel skeptical of capcom claiming they take an honost look at the community boards.

The Cammy pic makes it easier to confirm plus I wish I had Onos job to just dick around with people all day.

hopefully they can remove ryu and people will pick other characters lol i wonder what kind of bs will the trials have in store especially the dreaded "balance changes" I mean just ask Gen about those.

It's stupid to complain about boring characters when we got other cast whom you say are boring, as well. Rufus is really not like Yun and Yang. Again, if you've played 3rd Strike. You should know this, but it's obvious you haven't. All they have similar are the dive kicks and Yun's bend palm, but that's nothing compared to Ryu, Ken, and Akuma who all have Tatsumakis, Shoryukens, and Hadokens. Even then, Rufus' dive kick and Yun and Yang's are different. Yun and Yang's go in different angles leaving your opponent guessing whereas Rufus' just goes in one direction. Does Rufus have Mantis Slashes? No. Does he have a Shaolin Palm? No. Does he have a rolling kick? No. Does he have a launching punch? No. Does he have a shoulder tackle? No. Does he have a jumping kick? No. Does he have a command grab? No.

I can see where you're getting at. However, Gen's kick isn't like Yang's, either. Yang's roll and you can't keep kicking afterwards unlike Gen's.
If they were compared to anyone, it would be Fei Long solely because of the Rekkas and slashes like you said, but that's only one similar move compared to Ryu, Ken, and Akuma who have 3.

I'm pretty sure the player 1 is selecting Yang in the screenshot. I can see the red suit and the hair

I'm OK with these guys really. I hope Karin and Elena are in. Rolento looks like a sure bet but who knows?

If the rumors are true that there will be at least 6 then I would assume Yun, Yang, Elena or alex from 3rd strike. and Rolento Karin and mika from alpha. Who knows?

With the additional characters and possible balance tweaks/buffs I'm looking forward to this update. Go Capcom.

Oh yes, you already know R. Mika is in the game, with Ono's unhealthy obsession with her and all...

They real question is if this comes to console how much will it be. I can tell u right now theres really nobody that they can add that i would pay for, but spilting the community(im struggling to get green bar games in the northeast now) will be a bad thing. Force everyone to update to play online, and charge to use the new characters. Problem solved.

I wonder why people think they are a waste just because Rufus is in the game.. To me unless I am missing somthing, that is the only thing similar that he has. Everything else is all Rufus. And Gen has a dive kick... Its a little different but its a dive kick, would that mean Rufus should never have been made?

As for all the "its a waste of two slots" comments... Try as you might, they did not vanish... the slots are taken by these two and I am pretty sure it will be explained in time why they made it. The weird thing is in most cases... it seems the more you want someone in this game, they become worse than you thought.. many thought be Makoto was easily one of the top in SFIII, she would do the same here and yet you all got her... now you label her as "sucky"... People thought Dudley would be the new Sagat.... Seems here is nowhere near that, I even think that in the current list.. Though Sagat is lower, he is still above Dudley.. I am wrong about that then I take it back.. Those are a couple of examples...

All I am saying is, quit being so greedy... do not get bummed when you do not get your character, quit thinking every character they add that you personally do not like is a waste of a slot... Regardless how weak a character appears to be... if they had no virtual chance of winning, I am sure they would have never been added.

But meh... I am sure the arguments will continue so please... continue.

I don't mind Yun and Yang, as long as not another alien characters or some crappy new characters.

Damn, I guess they are in. I personally don't like the twins but meh, it doesn't bother me. I wish Hugo was in, he is my main in 3rd strike. I certainly do hope Karin and/or R.Mika gets added to this game.

What I really to know are what kind of changes will be made to them (if any). The system in SSF4 doesn't let you build super meter as much in 3S, so there probably won't be as many uses of Genei-Jin (if that even makes the cut as one of Yun's supers/ultras).

I hate these two with a passion. However, four more characters to come (allegedly), bound to be a new character to distract me from these two.

I never played any of the SF games between 2 Turbo (not ST, 2 turbo) and 4, but my immediate impression is that these two are scheiße (thanks eventhubs censorship), just going by how they look. And just going by how they look I want Karin and Rolento in.

No one can argue with your opinion it's up to you who you like or not, but it's not the best judge of any character to go solely off thier appearance. At the very least you should check out videos of thier fighting styles in action, or if you can try them out yourself. If you still don't like either of them after playing them thats your decision but at least give um a chance first.

Yes! This is awesome, only nitpick I have is that hopefully there character models are balanced with the other fighters (They were damn puny in 3rd strike.) :D
