Just for your information, the original 126-hit video is not even approaching Chun-Li's maximum combo. Even disregarding infinites, she could go much, much higher. I encourage any ambitious Chun players to give it a go... because you really let yourself down by not taking my $50 :)
the point of the second video was simply that the usual "haters" talked like the combo wasn't impressive, people sent in attempts, but no one pulled it off. so it was a it was a sit down and stfu vid, basically.
$1000? get real. Who would give someone that much for doing a combo on street fighter. Tbh it's annoying how no one can actually give Desk credit where it is due. Of course its not a real combo thats somewhat flashy, usable and has a variety of moves in. However, that wasn't the point. The only point to the combo was that Desk wanted to see who can actually pull it off. The fact he gets so many haters stating its not worth $50 are just terribly annoying. Face it, you can't do it. I bet you tried to see and failed miserably and gave up. Just give the guy props when needed. Its not like Desk has actually gained anything out of the publicity.

While I would agree with you that no one cared, it's apparent your simply jealous after your comment on him doing this for publicity. There are a bunch of people that can do this but did not submit because a) They did not have the equipment/time b) Felt dispite knowing the combo was not worth the 50 bucks. c)The improvment time and window to have a chance was too small + a and b.
He did'nt do this for publicity he's beend doing videos for a long time and is already well known. But I would agree that the 50 dollars just wasnt tempting enough.
I heard 1000 bucks, lol, yeah right, I bet he would get a million people but no one is gonna give 1000 dollars for 1 combo, ain't happening. I think 100 dollars would have been enough with a runner up at 50. I think thats fair.
Point is it just wasnt worth it, at the time thsi video came out I was looking for vids to practice just linking the combo a few times and use this just to complete the first gap but im still having trouble. I admit im not good at this and want to get better but 50 dollars is not a good enough motivator to stop studying for college for a week and take days off of work to perfect my craft. Just sayin.

And for all of you saying you don't care, being able to surpass desk in something after seeing a few of his combo videos and getting paid 50 bucks for what 25 minutes of your time? 5 booting up the game and setting up the recording,30 seconds of warm up 1 minute and 30 seconds for the recording itself,5 for putting the picture and picture, 5 waiting for it to finish combinding and 8 waiting for Youtube to load it up,hopefully with no problems. You get 50 bucks for showing you have the execution and endurance to do a 126 or more hit combo with chun li......seriously if I knew I had the execution and the stick to do it on I'd do it in a heart beat

1,000 dollars is completely unrealistic for something like this. It's not like he was backed by some company, he put up his own money (or so it seemed) and had nothing to gain from it himself. He only had everything to lose since there was no bet involved.
Putting up 1,000 of my own money for anything is out of the question unless you just have it to piss away.

if you watched the video one guy just had his web cam in a area where you can see his hands and he TV. no editing needed there. people need to get there green eyed monsters casted out.
Desk does combo videos all the time, so publicity wasn't the goal here. and if it was it was for his band not himself. it was 50 bucks to the first person who submitted the full combo. if you were any good or cared enough, you basically could have gotten a free 50 dollars.

1000 is unrealstic in the fact that how much money do you think Desk actually has to throw around a month? probably no more then 500, so while 50 is low it could be nothing and again only 25 minutes you can get 50 bucks, instead of Desk who does it for free (unless under special agreements,like working for a major gaming outlet, you are not allowed to make money of gaming footage on youtube through partnership means. Desk isn't a special agreement).

That should have been enough. Those in the community who are truly talented enough to do this would attempt it to test their own skill -- not to win $50. It's those UNtalented ones who come on here and complain about the money.
This is great, I remember reading the intial article and seeing a lot of arrogant commenters claiming it was an easy combo, and they were going to throw together a video once they had an hour to spare; acting like they were SSF4 combo kings.
Low and behold, no winner, but a bunch of bitter commenters posting along the lines of "This was lame" "Nobody cared, so they did not try" "$50 is not enough incentive"
I am guessing at least a few of the people making those comments got close to replicating the combo, but quit in frustration.
