Capcom employees Christian Svensson, Yoshinori Ono and Seth Killian handled a number of fan questions recently, covering a handful of their fighting games from Street Fighter 3 Third Strike Online Edition to Marvel vs. Capcom 3.Capcom, can we please have a port of Street Fighter 3 Third Strike Online Edition for the PlayStation Portable?
Svensson: I appreciate the call for more support... but for now, it's just for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
And sorry to tease but I was looking at the new build today with the producer... damn, it's gonna be cool.
But we're not going to be spilling the beans on details for a bit longer yet. Sorry to keep ya'll in suspense. I didn't want to announce it so far out, but now unfortunately, everyone has to wait until it's ready.
I heard a rumor that the characters in Super Street Fighter 4 are getting new moves, but I didn't see any in the patch notes the other day, what gives?
If the news doesn't come from Capcom, swallow it with a grain of salt. — Mr.H
Svensson: This. I could have sworn Arcade Edition was out on test in Japan in past months, no? So... based upon those location tests, have you seen new moves?
Beyond that, there's nothing more I can say right now.
Any luck with changing the release dates for SSF4's new alternative costumes? They're being released too far a part.
Yoshinori Ono: [We're talking] about the schedule for the costumes. Please wait [for] news. ;)
If Marvel is so keen on preserving their character's likenesses in MvC3, why do they shout the names of the attacks they perform?
Seth Killian: I'd chalk it up to simple Capcom fighter tradition. You do a special, you say the special :) Maybe it sounds a bit unusual at times, or leans more towards the kung-fu movie roots of Street Fighter, but there's a long history of exactly this.
For what it's worth, the Marvel characters in particular do shout out a bunch of things that are not just special move names (like when Hulk tags in Iron Man, he calls for "Metal Man!" or when Deadpool tags out, he says "time for a pee break" and the like). Their winning phrases (spoken, not just written) are also pretty great, but I'll let the game itself prove that to you...
I read there will be DLC characters for Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Could you set the record straight, is this true or not?
Seth Killian: The only thing that has been confirmed is that MVC3 is capable of being updated via DLC if we decide to go in that direction.
Can you add the parry system in Street Fighter X Tekken?
Yoshinori Ono: [It's not in the] plan.
When will there be more news about Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition?
Yoshinori Ono: [The release is] mid-December for [the] Arcade version in Japan. For consoles is ... Please wait more. ;P
Xbox Live is expanding to Chile, and I want to know if the region search for SSFIV will support my country.
Seth Killian: We are considering adding more region support for some countries to Super SFIV, although the list hasn't been finalized yet, so we don't know yet whether Chile specifically will be included. I'll update the blog when I have final information.
(@ #1, they said there won't be any clones, so there can only be one Metal Man....UNLESS!)
Hulk says to Wolverine, "Puny Man"
Other suggestions for Hulk
to DeadPool, Talking Man
to Ryu, Karate Man
to Morrigan, Sexy Girl
to Felica, Kitty (Can't say P***y I bet)
to Dante, Old Man (Because of his white hair)
to Ammy, Doggy
to Arthur, Puny Metal Man
to Joe, Movie Man
to MODOK, Big Head
to Spencer, Stretchy man
to Trish, Witch Lady
Wolverine being called Puny Man wouldn't be right, he and Hulk have way too much history for such a vague calling.
Wolverine might want to call Hulk in as Banner, just to piss him off. A pissed off Hulk is who you want on your team.
Do like Doggy, Puny Metal Man and Witch Lady though.
Soooo... no PC release of 3rd Strike Online Edition? I know we have GGPO for the original, but I'd definitely love something official. :3
I really don't feel like making a twitter account but would someone be kind enough to ask if they plan on fixing the damn mic problem on SSF4 (PSN)?
@#12:
I guess you didn't ever hear him say "Bushin Senpukyaku!", "Bushin Hasoken!", "Hozanto!", "Bushin Izuna Monsho!" and so on? -_-
honestly, i don't even care anymore. capcom has become like an annoying schoolgirl recently. stop acting like you guys don't know what's going on anymore, either let the people know, or don't let anyone know anything. capcom is literally just frolicking around holding onto these details as if we're not getting the games in a few months anyway. capcom claims to 'hear' what the fans say, yet..they really don't show it by how they appreciate 'their fans.' i've honestly gotten fed up with capcoms tactics recently, it's a bit boring already. cut the act fellas, capcom japan and usa need to show they really appreciate their fans, esp the hardcore ones..from whom without, you guys would not be in the position you are today.
(@raymizzle "Objection!....tldr. :P)
This all sounds pretty good, hope things turn out awesome and good.
I hate it when people ask Ono stupid questions. He takes the time to answer as much as he can (which is rare for a man of his position) and people still seem to ask such ridiculousness of him, haha.
What if they took Akuma and made him completely new but he's still bad ass?
Like all of his moves dont look a thing like Ryu's.
He launches people with his axe kick, his fireball is close range/hidden but it bounces people off the wall for combos.
His hidden super form SF3 3S returns with him splitting the earth. He has an all new look. Same color hair but new design.
Im just saying it would be awesome if they bring in an old fave and give them a complete makeover for MvC3.
since they didnt say anything about sean and sakura in the shotokan club, put them in MvC3.
the one i need samanosuke in onimusha 3 style and kenji from red earth.
What i want to know is CVS3/SVC chaos2 gonna happen
and can we get CVS2 on Playstation Network and XBLA ?
Metalman confirmed as the Megaman char for MvC3!
