Definitely wasn't Skisonic. It's unbelievable how ignorant people can be. First, there is an extremely loud voice singing then you hear Skisonic who was quieter and had a much raspier voice from commentating. The change is abrupt and couldn't be Ski.

Wow, that first match was exciting! I love to watch a good Bison at work, even though it's always the same it always gets my blood pumping. And the way TwistedJago uses teleport to get out of potential throw situations is godlike, I'll have to add that to my game. I gotta say though, it bugs me that the Psycho Crusher > EX Psycho Crusher was hailed as "clutch" because it worked, when if it hadn't they would have rightly said it was a dumb risk.
Second match, Marn seems to have improved a lot from his Rufus days. He kinda sucked back then, but now he really has a handle on things. I notice in this match he's doing less of the combo video stuff and sticking more to the basics. Also, epic seizure at 8:35 haha. Dudley is reminding me of Cammy now, he can play with the big boys, but look at how hard you have to work for it. Which I guess means Marn is even better than he looks.
I'd like to play Daigo simply for his lack of trash talking. I'm sure off the record he has some choice things to say, but for the most part it seems like he stays extremely respectful during all his matches.
He's not my favorite SF player out there but much respect for his demeanor and "let's play" attitude.
American players need to get over themselves.

I think Chris Hu is my favorite commentator. His accent is part of what makes him f-ucking hilarious, and I can honestly understand him fine, but sometime he makes no sense lol. But he knows alot about the game and I think he's a good commentator.

I'm honestly appalled at how people reacted to this. I mean mad props to winning against the best player in the world, but the least he deserves is respect for giving us good matches.
Although to me it seems Daigo in the first match was nervous around the psycho crushers, and sometimes I felt he relied a little too much on his fireball game when just approaching Bison isn't particularly hard.
I always root for underdogs and I hate Ryu, but damn... the crowd was so annoying that I have to root for Daigo. That guy puts up with a lot of crap, even though he always acts polite. Gotta respect him for that.
Daigo does get special treatment. Of all videos of top players at the event they post daigos. Since daigo is well daigo he gets all his videos posted. Why not momochi, gamerbee, arturo,sanford, jwong, Etc. Every DAIGO replay found on the internet from xbl is posted on eventhubs. If you guys want too post vids of daigo fine, but post more of the community be more diverse with it.
That Daigo Vs. Dre video was awesome. No wonder it was placed first. Ah, Dre's Dictator was fun to watch.
Guys, Daigo is not the same anymore and neither is JWong. Nor is anyone else. This is a new game with a large cast of characters where anyone can come up with a surprise win. The only reason Daigo and Jwong have their matches posted up with crazy hype in them is because of their past results. You could say they are inspirations for everyone who plays SF, and you know what? Some people have been so inspired to be the best, that they've finally caught up to that level.
That's what training does, and once you're on top it's harder to get significant progress because no one is there to teach you and the lesser players are only getting better.
there is nothing wrong with Daigo losing to a Bison and a Dudley. And nothing wrong with JWong losing to a Zangief and an Adon at EVO. Think about it, the less people play low/mid-tier characters, the less we know about their tricks. For all we know, Daigo might've only trained with a few Dudleys, and they all might've used Ultra 2 instead of Marn's sneaky Ultra 1.
People like Ricky Ortiz, Mike Ross, JWong, Vangief, F Champ and Valle are among the highest in America, but with no clear-cut winner anymore. Momochi, Daigo, Mago, Iyo, etc. are not in any particular order either in Japan. Stop making excuses for your "favorite" and just expect the unexpected. That way you won't be disappointed. Peace.
Why is everyone so shocked every time they see Daigo lose. SF isn't a game where the better guy wins 99% of the time. It's more like baseball is where the best teams hover around 60% win% and a 6-4 pace separates the best teams from the worst teams which sit around 4-6.
Watch any of the all-Japanese tournaments and Daigo routinely loses. It's not really a big deal.

It was definately NOT Marn, Chen or Ski. Marn was on screen when the A-Hole Voice Started and it doesnt match clearly to Ski's unique voice or Chen's. Nor was it Keits or Valle or Ross or Gootecks. Their voices are very distinct.

Daigo is still the best i know it, you know it, we all know this, no matter how you slice it. I feel as though daigo is bored with ssf4, is all. What do you expect hes won more tourneys than any1. Besides Ryu is known inside out by pro players, there aren't any new Ryu tricks. Espeacilally Daigo's Ryu, for Daigo to win being at a clear disadvantage, hed have to almost immerse himself within this game. The disadvantage being every1, and there mother has, is, and continuing to study him. Yes, he lost duh, but no one, and i mean no one, can name a SF players that Daigo can't beat period. It's only pride, envy, n hate that keep the Ryu haters from admitting that Daigo is the "BEST". Really, they're Daigo's biggest, and most loyal fans, they hate him sooo much they adulate him. They know, when a fight is over, win, or lose, they hug the stuffed Daigo toy, and message him. Daigo is STREETFIGHTER period.

Firstly i don't get whats everyone beef with the crowd chatting USA. It's the theme of the tournament USA against the world? Why not chant for your side? Do you get pissed when someone chants for there team to win? Come on some of you guys need to quit nick picking and find out( for your self) the real reason your pissed off. And about taunting. Why do you care? Its in the game why not use it, it can be practical in certain situations. I for one use it when i dizzy someones with makoto before i used the ultra. When i don't use it sometimes i miss fire and do the ultra early, the taunt helps me time it perfectly.
And for people wondering why people want Daigo to lose. Why not? Why can't you support one side? Do you just have to spectate and not be interested in who wins? It's just a personal choice no need to hate.
And @ the guy whose talking as if Marn didn't deserve the win because of random ultras. Hey he through it out Daigo didn't have to do what he did. That's how Marn plays, he has a risky style. Daigo is getting sloppy. He should of realized this and played more conservative.

@82: Daigo played sloppy on and off, but when he ate those ultras, he was as consistent as he could be, to the point where he was predictable. He was playing so consistent that Marn could read him like a book. Marn knew when he could throw out those Ultras. Daigo throwing out that fireball on wakeup at such close range, though...yeah, that was hella sloppy, especially because I'm willing to bet that Marn was buffering that wakeup Ultra in case the fireball came out. When Marn saw that fireball come out, 3K to clinch the win.
Also, taunts are aces. People who say they won't use a move in a character's repertoire because it's "wrong," or "cheap," or "disrespectful", SCRUBS. Man up.
Not long ago, I said this place had cleaned up its act. Turns out, it was only because the post I commented that in didn't have "Daigo" in the title. That resulted in no Daigo fanboy putting up the bat signal--yet, here, well. Speaks for itself. Lesson learned.

its not so much that we want to see daigo lose (not those of us with any common sense anyway), but that beating daigo is a big deal. there are always names you hear about with everything, daigo is a big name of street fighter. we arent necessarily pleased that he lost, but more happy for those who beat him. its an accomplishment, and those of us watching can appreciate that accomplishment. at least that is how i see it. i never want someone to lose, but beating daigo, justin, etc is a big deal thats why people go nuts when it happens, especially this early in a tourney.
Marn had Daigo read? You're joking right? The only good 2 reads I saw was the ultra to punish Daigo's backdash on wakeup and the EX uppercut to beat Daigo's shoryuken. Marn won only because Daigo messed up with the hadouken at the end.

I have to be honest and say that the USA chant thing has got to stop. I am an American but the showing off thing is very rude especially to foreign players. Nothing wrong screaming for your peeps at all but the chant is kinda going to far. It makes us seem like egotistical bastards that think we are all that which a good portion of us isn't.
With that said, it is good to see Andre win against Daigo finally. He had close calls with Daigo in the past but in the end Andre would make mistakes that ultimately cost him the match. Round two was an example of the mistakes he used to make. Kudos for him pulling himself together and pulling out the win. Kudos to Daigo for catching the mistakes Andre made and coming out with a down but not out victory. The whole match was very intense!!!! That is what I like to see!!

In case people are wondering why Daigo did the fireball and not the Ultra for the final match was timing.
If Ryu did his Ultra animation for the guaranteed chip kill, that would give Marn a MUCH larger window to react. However it was bad for Daigo to throw the fireball at that range with Dudley's Ultra.
The best thing for Daigo to have done was nothing and wait for Marn to come to him and shake a shoryuken out.

When Kuroda beat Justin he didn't shake his hand he threw his hands in the air and walked off besides doing other things before and during the match to make fun of Justin.

Also, taunts in 3S actually improve the character's attributes. For Q (who Kuroda used), taunting increases his defense. I'm pretty sure he was taunting most of the time to taunt though. Kuroda is also pretty salty when it comes to SF. Watch this year's SBO when he got eliminated in SFIV... that face was the definition of salty. He looked like he was about to put his foot through the machine.
This match just proves that people need to start using other characters besides the highly popular ones(ryu, ken, guile...) I mean, come on! Everybody in high level comp. probably know what to expect from Daigo's ryu and how to counter him. Using other characters can keep things interesting, instead of being like the match between daigo and twistedjago- a spamfest of scissor kicks(a noob's fav) fireballs and dps. If daigo hopes to remain competitive( he will anyway) he needs to change up who he uses.
On another note, bison definetly needs some nerfs. Way to many of his moves are safe on block, which seem to give him to much of an advantage sometimes. Capcom should at least make it where you cant spam scissor kicks without any worries of being punished. And I wont even mention the issues of mashing dp with shotos. What happened to using skill to win?
