Seasons Beatings Redemption results, logs & notes

Posted by Jonathan 'Catalyst' Grey • October 18, 2010 at 2:12 a.m. PDT
Seasons Beatings Redemption results, logs & notes Seasons Beatings Redemption in Columbus, Ohio has finished up. This was one of the biggest fighting game tournaments of 2010.

The live stream was hosted by Sp00ky at Team Sp00ky, who nearly put on a one-man show, foregoing sleep and working his butt off to provide a live look at the action for the community. Also, JChensor, Skisonic and others did a great job on the mics, commentating matches for fans at home.

The tournament itself was fantastic, with a lot of up and down matches, hype, drama and basically everything you could ask for as a fighting game fan.

To see how it shook out, hit the link below.

For the editor-man here (I think Catalyst), the Ryu and Chun that beat GamerBee's team were Eric Hai and Chi-Rithy respectively. It's also Team STC,not SDC, the stream just had it wrong.

@spotlesseden: It doesn't matter if Marn was a perfect gentleman 'round here, he's always the object of quite a bit of animosity. Dieminion and Marn have a bit of a feud going on, so Dieminion only made it worse on himself by taunting before and during the match. The two rose taunts by Marn in those final two rounds were pretty hilarious as a result.

Wanted to chip in that like #61 and #57, on my end of the USTREAM chat isn't showing up but the stream is fine... anyone have a fix for this, specifically Mac?

amazing stream nonetheless, just need type in the hype-chat!

Marn has his ups and downs with Dudley, but when he's on it's like watching a combo video. Dude was sick in that match.

Also, rose > shades.

It's such a shame we may never see this level of hype with MvC3. This game is a gem and it will be a shame to see it go.

"This competition had lots of drama and emotion. Neo and Justin Wong had some smack talking going back and forth, there was a replay situation where Yipes and Chris Schmidt ended up doing a do-over because of controller problems.

The crowd was hype throughout everything and this was a VERY back and forth match. This is something people are going to be talking about for awhile."

@NoizyChild: Yeah, "ignorance +1" for sure, considering you obviously didn't even understand what I said. Back to practice mode for you too, champ.

#88
prof21 said on October 16, 2010 at 2:19 a.m.

@dicktator

He was getting blown up by Chris Schmidt, like 1/8th life left, he paused the game and said his stick wasn't working and he had no control of his character at all. Everyone was confused and fail for awhile then they somehow agreed to start the game over and tried to replicate the match to where they left off w regards to life and meter and time. Then they were just like "GO!" and Yipes ended up winning.

It was really stupid.

I have a question guys..

Mr. Chen mentioned something while he was commentating with Dieminion about Floe, he wished to him "to stay strong". I'm actually browsing the SRK forums to check what's up and nothing.

So if anyone has some info about this guy who is one of our fattest and beloved community members would be appreciated.

team sdc blowing up team gamerbee fanclub was surprising but i was much more suprised at the fact on how solid team sdc really was. that rog player was REALLY good.

#93
Mourne said on October 16, 2010 at 7:31 a.m.

@94: It was pure madness. Only in Marvel.

While it was a big mistake on Schmidt's part to not just stop it cold, we did get some great follow-up matches out of it and they still won. All in all, was a great night for MvC2.
