Yoshinori Ono had a few interesting updates on his Twitter account recently. He talks about the status of pitching the new Arcade Edition content for Super Street Fighter 4 as DLC, what version they're basing SF3 Online Edition off of, how difficult Makoto was to balance in SSF4 and a few other things.
How long until we'll know Capcom's answer about doing DLC for SSF4 with the Arcade Edition content?
Ono: Sorry, I don't know. Tonight, I'll [have] dinner with [upper level staff and] I'll talk about it.
If you guys add in stuff for Third Strike Online Edition, please have an option to play the original. — ShaftyCakes
Ono: [We're developing] on version 990512 [as a] base. Please wait for news.
[Editor's note: 990512 refers to the most popular version of Third Strike that was released in the arcades. Another version was released later down the road, 990608, but the team isn't building SF3 3s Online Edition off of this one.]
Are there any plans to buff Makoto in the Arcade Edition of SSF4? She needs some help. ;(
Ono: Umm, her battle tuning has very difficult...
How many signatures would it take to get a Darkstalkers 4 made?
Ono: It's difficult subject. [Upper level staff said I "needed a million".] I think at least several ten thousands.
(Someone posting under the name Poison wrote): Please make me look sexy in the game!
Ono: Street Fighter X Tekken's director has become interested in you!! ;D
Funny that Ono said Makoto was difficult to balance. No one used her at first because they thought she sucked and now a few people are starting to use her.
I bet she got the nerf bat right before the game shipped and ended up too weak. They're already going to do buffs to Makoto, she's got like the most according to this http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2010/se...
If they do too much though she'll be too good. Her rushdown is so good in the right hands, they just gotta figure out how to balance the rest of her. Not make her too strong in other areas.
They can't make her rushdown any better or she'd be unbeatable once she got in, you have to get lucky to get out.
what was the difference between the two third strike versions? i remmeber uriens unblockables were fixed in the release capcom made after the first one but i cant remember anything else. anyone else know?
Things sound promising, Plus I never did see "Poison" fight myself. Wasn't she paired up with Hugo most of the time?
Well anyway i'm sure things will turn out good in time. With Ono on the case i'm sure all will remain awesome, plus they got us the kick-ass fans to back them up. :D
@omegax9000
Sign for Darkstalkers on Capcom-Unity. That's the site Ono always tells people to go, don't go else where cause they don't read those other places. http://www.capcom-unity.com/ask_capco...
@8 ya its arcade perfect. capcom removed some unblockables for urien and oro and that was it. the version they use as the base is the one that is used in all of the big tournaments and stuff so thats a good thing.
@Moyin
Graphic filters are guaranteed at this point and so is GGPO for net play. Capcom said as much here http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2010/ju... and here http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2010/ju...
Not confirmed yet but if you look at how their other games were done that were redone you can bet on it.
To play Poison I have buy SF X Tekken, bah.
@19
I don't think she was ever playable but it would be nice if she could fly around doing head/knee presses.
I think that there's a 80% chance of seeing those DLC characters for SSF. It would be a bad idea for capcom not to release it. All the changes they made cost time,money & resources. So it would be logical for them to send the DLC characters to consoles (at a price of course) I would buy'em. Though I wonder...what if my friend don't have the DLC while I do, then try & play endless? Would it allow those who don't have the DLC characters with those who do? I'm just curious.
Poison as a game character revolved around pulling out guns and stuff haha. Just look it up.
But as far as makoto's axe kick being more like 3rd strike, I wonder if they're gonna change that little upward movement before she axes. I'm sure it has its uses now, but thats one of the differences I noticed with her right off the bat, because I'd end up doing the axe too early because im used to 3rd strike timing haha

Final Fight Revenge - Sega Saturn

It needs to stay arcade exclusive for awhile atleast. The console got 2 upgrades over regular 4 already so it would be bad business for capcom to screw the arcade operaters over again by releaseing the console stuff to early. Those machines arent cheap. What i think they should do is release the arcade in dec and then in about the following summer/fall bring it to console with balance patch along with the new characters
Here is a video of a bad fighting game Final fight Revenge, where poison was playable showing some basic moves her super.

@#13
don't you mean too much s*** flies in SFIV? The game has a reversal window designed for people who are marginally retarded. I'll take unblockables over scrub tactics anyday and SFIV LOVES scrubs.
Alright, my question about Makoto got mentioned in an EH article. :D
@2
Thanks for that link. I wasn't aware of the tweaks they had already made to her before I tweeted that question to Ono.
Balancing Makoto is hard = We'll make her more bad instead of taking a chance and letting her be a solid character. :/
Her dashes have too much freakin' recovery, EX Hayate doesn't have super armor (which I think would be nice against zoners because then you can't throw a fireball), I don't think armor break is more useful than Super armor. I don't understand how the developers don't know that the people who give Makoto the hardest time are the ones with fireballs...
Her Karakusa can also be jabbed out of, that grab should be able to tech throws, but you should not be able to tech it. Karakusa needs more range and priority. Things central to her game getting buffed would make her better, but nah, Capcom can't have that.
While Ryu and Ken can spam one move and destroy opponents, lol.
Yes! I can't wait for Poison. And yes she has been playable, she has been playable in two games, one was canceled before it's final release though, but the point is she can fight, I mean, her first appearance is as one of the members of Mad Gear in Final Fight you have to battle throughout the whole game, so her creation is base don her fighting skills DUH.
If Poison is Gonna Be In SFxT then why call it SFxT i mean should have to be in a SF game first i mean really...do the interview mention poison in every interview?
HAs Poison EVER been playable in a fighting game?! How would she even fight?!
