A big thanks goes out again to KevinT747 who sent in this tip.
So far Nice stuff. Can't wait till Comic Con NY!!!
ohh yeah X23 lvl 3... Fuuuuuck yeah!! Nice! different!
I hope theres a "true hero like mode" were there is no same hero on each teams. Example Spiderman/X-23/Ryu vs Spiderman/Chun-li/Wesker. There should only be one Spiderman in a match. Much like the comics there is only one hero. /sigh wishful thinking is all.
So, first everyone was complaining about X-23, and now everyone likes her? Mood swing, much?
@redfactor
It's annoying seeing everyone complain about the roster not being as big as MvC2.
What's not annoying is knowing that this game's roster will be better than MvC2 & not have 40+ wasted throwaway characters that cannot be used competitively.
& lol @ the people guessing top tourney teams before they so much as even see the final game & the rest of the unannounced characters.
@#9 + #10
Wait until it comes out. Online variety will be so slim. Seeing as there's 6 different characters each game, I tiny roster will be horrible. No variety, Then once everyone finds the " top tourney teams " out then it'll just become the same old little thing and the game would then feel small.
@redfactor
SSFIV has 35 characters. How many of them do you see online on a frequent basis? 5 or 6?
Continuum Shift has a much smaller roster than either SSFIV or MvC2 and I still see a greater variety of the cast being used.
Yes but both them only have 2 characters in each match.
MvC3 will obviously have 3 times more than that.
so If they only have what 16 characters, then it'll just become so bleugh..
You got to remember that there's more to it than the competitive side. By that I mean say you have a group of friends around and your just messing around it'll just become boring quick whereas MvC2 didn't get boring with its roster unless you just jump online into ranked match's.
Anyhow lets stop ruining this thread and wait to see how it is when it comes out :)
@redfactor
16 characters? What the heck are you talking about? They said "over 30." Rumor has it that they're approaching 40.
I'd rather have a smaller amount of characters done very well (BBCS and MvC3) than a larger amount of characters who are mediocre (SSFIV and MvC2).
@redfactor
Yeah. You can even see that there's 22, which is greater than your estimate, in this demo. And they said that there will be even more characters announced in a couple of days.
So no. 16-20 is dead wrong.
I invite you to come to Capcom-Unity and vote for your favourite characters:
http://www.capcom-unity.com/marvelvsc...
We'll have the polls results by tomorrow morning (Pacific Time) just in time for New York Comic-Con.
Thanks for your participation and time! Best of luck to your characters!
I though X-23 was just a clone *Me being a cheeky bastard over everyone at first bashing X-23 now loving her*
Anyway let it be known I've been calling X-23 as part of my team since she was first revealed along side wesker, nice to see ya'll hoping on my bandwagon
hopping* blah
anyway it's weird to see Parker without a level 3
@Arrancar
Wishful thinking that will never happen because it would be unfair if you had to peopple known for their spiderman who use them differently(such as one's very web ball and webzip, the his 8-way air dash focused and the other is into the strikes and web swing). like the other day I faced a Rising Jaugar adon who picked ultra 1 and I'm a Jaguar kick adon who likes ultra 2
@Froggyman you're arugement's kinda shallow with the whole 5 to 6 characters when you consider there's so many different characters to pick that the focus would be more infrequent
@Ex_Ein
Oh. You again.
Exactly what "argument" am I trying to make? I'm just saying that more characters ≠ more variety online.
hopefully they get it right with the balanceing. So far every character looks like they got something that makes them unique/dangerous and worth picking.
(Leaked Tier list of MVC3:
Hakan
Dan
Phoenix Wright
Frank West
Bad Art Megaman
I couldn't get the rest, they were on to me so I had to vamoose!)
Vote up Hatboy suggestion at Capcom unity his suggestion has been in the top three for over a month kudos.
X-23 seems like an interesting character to play. Definitely no Wolverine clone.
Like Spiderman's new options of web swing.
@26
that isnt true. We have 35 in ssf4 and we only see what? 10 of them on average if ur luck? More GOOD characters gives u more variety. Look at mvc2, 90% of them arent used but then look at hdr and in that game you WILL see every single character selected(even the bottom of the barrel gief and t hawk).
(To all the people judging characters SERIOUSLY from a character demo.../headdesk
They didn't even use X-factor in half the matches - that should tell you something!)
Froggy that's the point their's proof that all 35 characters get used online in SSF4( http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2010/se... ) however since there are 5 to 6 characters that over 50% use it makes it seem like those 5 to 6 characters are the only characters online when you take a game like Blazblue that only has about 16 characters of course you're going to seem ore then 5 to 6 of that character used because there's less to select from so you don't see the amount of infrequency
It's like If I gave you 32 different objects some that are close to being the same however one the other might push you toward or away from it
now imagine if I took away the ones who were close to others? you've basically be forced to go with the one there still
"That's why J.J. pays me the big bucks!"
Love his victory animation.
Honest to goodness, Cornwad
There has to be a CHRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSSSS in there somewhere!
Hopefully I'll be a little more awesome than I was at MvC2 (I had good head-to-head but I completely forget to use assist in many matches and when I do I don't use them very well) my team was Ken/Hulk/Cyke, my only good assist setup is Ken expansion HK into Gamma Wave or Mega OB
Where's Goku so I can Instant Transmission with Wesker lol.
@#58
Yes, he still has his webthrow...it was in his debut trailer.
@Ex Ein
"however since there are 5 to 6 characters that over 50% use it makes it seem like those 5 to 6 characters are the only characters online when you take a game like Blazblue that only has about 16 characters of course you're going to seem ore then 5 to 6 of that character used because there's less to select from so you don't see the amount of infrequency"
I don't think a pie chart is too hard to read. It takes a minimum of 9 characters to compose the 50% in your example, not 5 to 6. Exaggeration is not a good way to debate or present yourself as an intelligent person. Rambling, not using punctuation doesn't help matters, either.
About Blazblue: Online doesn't see more variety simply because there's less to choose from. I don't know how you convinced yourself and others to believe something so myopic.
It's mainly because most each character is greatly distinct from the next (mostly due to the "Drive" commands), so each have their own set of tricks to help win matches.
Also because BB is a button-mashing-friendly game; I can choose anyone aside from robot girls, mash out some basic combos, and hope to win.
Street Fighter is a bit too technical and slower-paced for that, I've found. If SSF4 was 1.5x-2x the speed, allowed easy spamming and dropped difficult link timings, I'm sure the game would be "accessible" enough that anyone can choose a character they like and scrub their way to victory.
@kilvoctu
You're not getting what EX_Ein is saying and it's such a simple concept to wrap your head around.
BB has a diverse online because BB has far less characters and most of them are scrub friendly. If you took the last 16 characters in SSFIV's pie chart, everyone would be used equally. You have to be living under damn rock not to know that almost every scrub on the planet is gonna choose Ryu or Ken.
Kilvoctu
I was going off the example that Froggy gave(he said 5 to 6), also you misuse a lot of English yourself there buddy.
About blazblue:
Let me give you an example of what I'm talking about(since you missed hte point). If there was another character with a moveset 85% similar to Ragna's, who was a bit stronger, in hits, but weaker, on taking damage, and had a similar drive as well as a few other quirks to him, people might select him over Ragna. That's what Akuma and Saukra to Ryu and taking away that option leads people to select the only option available unless they feel like learning another move set.
Now spreading thtat to all 35 characters of street fighter 4, you can see the move overlap and similarities between characters, not just the shotos, making it more a matter of preference over what's there. Blazblue, since you don't have that much option of 35 characters with similar moves/drives and all 16 characters(I'm including helsing and trinity) are very different even when a few have some similar moves you're going to see less infrequency. I play 4(Gen, Abel, Adon,Cody) different characters, maybe 5(Gouki) in SSF4. but in BlazBlu it's Arakune maybe Hazma no one else, I don't think of playing anyone else.
I'm not even going to your last statement about BB being button-mash friendly compared to SF, beside these few words, /facepalm
x-23 is a rushdown version of Wolverine, great at combos.
GOOD STUFF! MvC3 is the Sh1t
