I get where Ono is coming from.
The after hit KO thing is not something where you can just say, "well dont lose!" and you wont get hit. Anybody can get lucky and beat you.
If maybe they can implement a system where the loser can counter or dodge the last hit, it could be fun. I guess instead of thinking or adding more content they just took it out.
Personally if you want do an after hit KO now, you have to use skill to do it. No cheap stuff anymore. Especially when most of the cast can get Cheap, Mash-out victories it's kinda pathetic they get to Disrespect you after.
I'd like the option to hit after KO. I guess maybe because I'm a 3rd strike player and always liked to do some sort of action before I end. Personally, I don't often hit the person unless there's some cool dramatic effect, but I have little signature movements I like to throw in. In any case, I find it less frustrating than getting those crazy fatalities like in Mortal Kombat.

i bet some characters that might be in sfxt for example elena,hugo,rolento,alex,karin the fighters we want capcom will put them in that game just to make us buy the stupid game and later crossover to SF4,if they work good enough or demand.
Why complain about post-hit KOs? Like J posted; they are just FUN. When you win a match, YOU will probably be wanting to do some hit afterwards, which is just logical because... really, why not? So... I think you should just expect people that win over you do the same. It's no big deal whatsoever, the complains are senseless.
Lets get some blood back into the Street Fighter series.

People are really so serious they call post KO hits disrespectful? Dang I better stop playing games for fun and start working on a worldwide agreement to turn taunts off before a match starts. Seriously I go to some tournaments and have played some of the great players, and I don't get destroyed (I certainly haven't made any name for myself). Still with all of that exposure to different players who take the game seriously they have never once talked about respect in the game out side of interesting playstyles. Also almost none of them turn off taunts and back in Vanilla we would use the extra hitting time to do normally impossible combos that looked goofy. It was a slightly entertaining feature that normal people (who did well in tournaments and played games because they enjoyed them) in the community liked that was removed because it offended bi-polar people (who rarely got anywhere in tournaments and played games so seriously they treated as a source of 2nd income where every loss was like getting fired. Btw that must have really sucked because those guys never ended up winning). Small fun thing lost removed due to the loud minority I should be used to this.

i have a feelin it will be a new disk anyway. Its probably easier that way. He is just prob saying this so Capcom appears to its fans they they "tried" to do it but then found out it was technically easier to sell a new disk

On a very serious note.....All this speculation has already gotten very old (for me). Just come right on out and say whether or not it will be dlc (which, I am sure it will be). But, to keep this dragging on and on is just getting incredibly boring. I mean, come on... there was supposed to be a BIG announcement concerning characters at TGS. Where were they? I only recall hearing about the inclusion of Yun and Yang, which we had already figured out. Maybe I am just ranting, but does anyone else feel this way ?
oh yea, and btw, I call that if the new characters are going to be DLC, I am gonna give a release date of sometime in Feb- April of 2011. God knows Capcom likes to keep us waiting and waiting and waiting.

Make all of the stages interactive in someway. Where it affects the gameplay a bit. Like on the volcano stage random balls of fire hail on the stage for slight damage.
Return of unique character intros before the match no longer than 2 seconds.
Akuma Ryu and Gouki would have different themes not just all shared.
1st DLC costumes would be free on the disc, new ones paid for.
KO slow mo is faster.
KO win pose much faster no longer than 1 sec.
All taunts are no longer than 3 sec.
No more than 3 diff. taunts per character. (3 good ones) no need to waste time and money on a novelty feature.
10 colors per char. Color picked is displayed in-game like in SF3.
You are able to see the character avatar to get a good look at the color/costume b4 going into battle. (KOF13)
Counter Ultras changed to be secret b4 activation.
Akuma's ultra 2 changed to something COOL!
I'm in agreement with anyone who would like post-kO hits to return, they were just for fun, and not meant as disrespect atleast on my end anyway. I was actually surprised when I first saw that comment and Ono's response on twitter. Ono made it seem as tho many fans missed such feature. A possible return?

Remember this is a SF2 upgrade, there was no POST-KO hits then.
SF3 had it. If it didnt I wouldnt have missed it.
There should be a special situation you have to end the match with to allow for a post-KO hits. Like a light attack (it will favor mashing and characters who cant mash like ELF or Hakan would be much harder)
I say finish with a super combo then you can get that sweet extra hit!

Because you already have won the round by the way everyone's attitude about the post-KO hit you should be able to Teabag them or launch them into space after every round.
You already get a win pose for a flaunt.
It means nothing to the actual match (If you or the opp get meter for it,fine)
It makes the next round come quicker.
Overall it's not needed like those long cinema intros.
Stick to why we bought this, the fighting.
You win, next round, fight.
Bring back the Dead Body Hits!!
People need to be reminded that they took it to the face, with a disrespecting thug slap from Gief, or a Sexy FADC Flash Kick from Guile that doesn't make him continue his animation while keeping Meter!!

I apologize, but taunts had to have been made to be somewhat disrespectful. It is a competitive game. Not a scocial networking site. Disrespecting your opponents alittle, keeps the their passion for beating the crap out of you alive. It helps build rivalries, which in turn keep over all game play high. From a sales point on capcoms helps boost sales for further fighting games with the growth of the competitive scene and the internet with online play capability.

If you can smackdown on the body while the next stage is loading that's just good fun. But a little love tap after someone mashed out a victory from obvious sheer luck...NOT COOL!

Also, this conversation about getting the new characters on console is a ridiculous conversation. It defies logic. Capcom by its own admission doesn't make much money from the arcades anymore. The worst thing about the ultras besides the length of some of them (Abel's)
is that they have complex commands (Guile U1)
and they require you to hit 3 buttons at once.
In SF3 all of the advertised supers were QC or 720 motions and you press ONE button.
Very easy for anyone who wanted to ease into another character.

Who says that Guile's Ultra 1, Vega's Ultra 1, Dee Jay's Ultra 2, and Blanka's Ultra 2 were too complex? There's a serious shortcut to performing those commands which makes it seriously easy.

Poison originally appears in Final Fight as one of the Mad Gear members who you have to fight constantly throughout the whole game. So no duh she can fight, she's had a fighting style since her debut. She's the definition of a street fighter, to such a literal point she's overqualified to be playable in any fighting game.
She's even been playable in Final Fight Revenge, and was playable in Capcom Fighting All-Stars as well. Meaning she's not just Hugo's manager, that was just a part of her later development and she;s definitely not just some background character. As you can see from Street Fighter IV, Hugo's currently taking up that role.

The shortcut command has been known for quite some time; even before Street Fighter IV.

yes, shortcuts have been in the game for years but input leniency have been increased over the time to make the game more "friendly" but I think they exceeded in SFIV...double tapping the diagonals is a shroyuken in SFII BUT you need to tap HARD while in SFIV you just need to press the diagonals. (free shoryuken :/)

I agree with that ultra comment. I freakin hate them too, it slows down the gameplay.
WE NEED GUARD METER
1) Post KO hits were fine (at least for the winner ;-) i don't really care, it was fun sometimes)
2) Ultras are an essential FUN and tactical part of SF4, else many comebacks wouldn't be possible.
3) shortcuts are annoying
4) auto-move-direction correct should be removed, it only makes easier to spam shoryuken in the right direction, instead of helping charge characters to keep a counter charge.
5) option select was the most stupid thing to implement, because it takes out many surprising counter move situations. People with option select are now always safe, even if they input their complete move sequence on block.
Absolutely no fun / boring to play such matches.
I don't need to know the release date, I would rather wait until the game is finished
- More time on fixing bug, glitches & other characters
- More time for writing stories (Prologue/Endings)
Alright, I know nobody will read this and I know I've said this in other forums, but...
The updates keep you interested because the release date for this stuff isn't April. It's going to be around October of next year. Arcades have to make their money, $5000+ a kit, and profit to make the venture worth it. I bet some of the six characters aren't even finished yet. That's why costumes are being stretched out till March, they got to use little carrots to keep us talking about the game. Then you got EVO, more twitter news and leaks and then, before you know it, it's Nov. and we got a new game. Everyone wins.
Wash, rinse, repeat. This time 2012 we'll start gettin characters like Alex and Mika and some crazy ones like Skullomania plus a new one or two.
