You can find more fights from top Japanese SSF4 players on 0ShinAkuma0's YouTube channel.
Really interesting match, I wasn't expecting Hakan to comeback after that beatdown. Fun to watch!
that loss must've shakan daigo's ego
its a slippery slope to victory after all
some slick playing by the hakan player though
oils well that ends well i guess
You can also find good ranked matches on bendermac's channel which has hundreds of ranked Japanese matches including more of Wildcat, tokido, Uryo, gamerbee, gameinn, Kiryu etc.
I think his channel deserves as much spotlight as 0ShinAkuma0 when it comes to showing off many good matches.
@Kondee
Word, Bendermac's channel is also good. Here's a link to it for those interested. http://www.youtube.com/user/bendermac
Why did Diago run at the end?
That elbow into Ultra by Hakan was nice
Nice comeback. I bet Daigo thought he had the match sown up at the end when he tried to run.
A few things I really liked at the end of this match, 1, the F+MP buffer into 720. I thought that was really cool. 2, WC got Daigo to respect the EX slide, again cool. and 3, Daigo proving that even pros mash (although in his defensive, Hakan had next to no health, so even if he didn't hit him with EXDP, he probably thought he'd get him with chip. Just a thought.)
Haha, Mr. Ryu is always a tough match. Shoryuken is almost better than oil, but Turkey's finest can't be deterred! But I will admit, I know know why Mr. Zangief hates fireballs so much - I've had my fair share of losses to Mr. Ryu.
But enough blathering,
I hope Mr. Ryu makes good on his promise for a rematch - maybe he'll take up my advice to make a new move called 'Slick Shoryuken!'.
(Yeah, you're right, Hakan didn't NEED buffs. But I'm not going to tell Capcom WTF DON'T BUFF HAKAN! I bet most Hakan players agree he's fine now - at least on our level. If you're not a Hakan player, just let me tell you stacking oil + OPTIONS after slide/oil up + being able to cancel Oil Dive is pretty much heaven. Not overpowered, but gives Hakan alot more OPTIONS.
@#13: Actually, there are some good hakan players offline, but there's rarely any footage of Hakan in the first place. He's very weak in a lot areas when unoiled, but otherwise he's an ok character when he's oiled. The buffs coming are better to aid him in what he's suppose to be. A Zangief with better pokes and grab range.
Dedication can only take someone so far before it just becomes a battle against a character that has better tools than him. And there's a lot of characters who have better tools than him.
Not to be a hater, because I do respect Wildcat's ability, but this video is not that interesting to a Hakan player. There's no new setups and, because it's really sloppy, no good option demonstrations. So for all non-Hakan players, don't judge here, there's so much more Hakan can do.
And yes, I understand Wildcat can't do everything in one match, but the point is this is a sloppy match I don't think either one would be proud to rewatch this match.
No offense to Eventhubs for posting either, it is news after all.
XBOX: mrdrofficr (Hakan player) and Honda, Ibuki, Rose.
@22
Hakan's poke's and grabs are worse than Zangief, so I think, from a design point, he has the pacing and zoning of Q but with an emphasis grabs, wich he has more of than any character in the history of SF with seven grabs.
that mash at the end was fantastic, i thought only scrubs did that lol.
The fact that Capcom gave Hakan a ton of buffs in the arcade version scares me.
Hakan barely used any throws except an ultra, that must be what Iv'e been doing wrong all this time. I just assumed he was a throw based character.
That's probably one of the tightest Hakans I've seen. Those set-ups he had were just downright dirty.
Nice HAKAN........very sloppy match......dont think that was daigo.....my opinion
i lkie Hakan....i just hate his fighting style---iL stick with my el fuerte 4 now & keep training with Hakan
Daigo did what Daigo does best, make matches interesting. I genuinely think that if there's not much on the line he really doesn't care about anything else. Win or lose he wants to put out close matches and challenge what we expect to see.
@akumamishima
daigo made it interesting? He did the text book crap. The only thing that made it interesting was hakan.
idk why daigo had to show off on those combos!?! im like he can do better than that and went for the damage dealing combos instead of those! i guess thats what u get for underestimating hakan!
dont get me wrong! i luv hakan! he's the first one i try to train when ssf4 came out! and i have to wait for a couple few weeks till' a good strategy faqs about hakan to come out cuz i was having a hard time playing him! if i play him ryt now is mostly pokes, mind read, and prediction! i guess a C+ rank (2500+ BP) for him is already a good achievement!
so they better have that AE updates as a DLC cuz i want those buffs and options for hakan!
that ultra put daigo on notice. i guess that why they are there lol getting caught one time can even the playing field real quick like. daigo should have just went for the kill, and like the guy someone on here said, daigo probably thought the EXDP would chip him out so he did something unsafe and paid for it. great match though til daigo did the chicken run and killed my buzz
I noticed @ 1:10
Hakan tried using the same forward-medium punch set up.
It wiffed however :p
@ChickenWings
My point is that we expected him to flat out decimate a widely regarded low tier character and instead he made the game more or less even.
He's mentioned a few times that he's grown as a professional player and he understands that it involves more than just playing to win. He's had a history of making matches like this if they're essentially exhibition or casual matches.
The Hakan player wasn't particularly tricky nor did Daigo punish every mistake he could have aggressively. If he wanted a steamroll, its very likely he could have done it.
@ 56
Hakan has some nice tools but he needs more in order to compete big time.
Maybe if leave some oil on the ground to make his foes trip?
Daigo and Wildcat both made mistakes but I think we all got the feeling that Hakan is not be messed with!
lol@ J wong saying Adon is ass
lol@ Daigo and friends saying Hakan is ass
Underestimate @ ur own risk!
@22
I'm sure some balance to Hakan will happen. I don't think he needs much though. I have played some great Hakan players that knew what they were doing. People tend to be too quick to cry about new characters when they don't spend enough time with them or they just want buffs to make up for holes in their game.
@58 Couldn't agree with you more. Everyone complained about how the oiling takes too long to good and it kills the point of having the oiled up properties to begin with. I think this vid goes to show that you can manage just fine without them. That and people need to stop being whiny bitches about this game :P
Speaking of Low Tier...watch the 2nd round of this vid to see what ELF can REALLY do!
Hakan is hilarious but Ryu is just so boring, no matter who is playing Mr. Bland.
@57
The problem is there such a big gap between oiled hakan and regular hakan. Giving him a few frames here and there on his normals wont hurt but oiling up is the problem, u can lock hakan down so easily and never give him the chance to do it. There supposed to make it stake in the arcade verison but i think he needs alittle more, like giveing him some oil everytime he uses ex moves and most of all giving his none oil slams alittle boost(this also gives him another chance at more oil), its silly to be point blank in someones face and whif a slam.
Agreed. Hakan's tools are far and few in between depending on his stances (this being Oil/UnOil). The point of the updates is to give him some reliability with and without oil up. The fact that st. short into slide without oil is still in the current AE builds is a step in the right direction. In additional, that oil now stacks right now, makes it even scarier. Because in theory, he can be oiled the whole round.
Once again, dedication can only take Hakan so far right now and should the AE changes make it to console, it'll practically be like learning a new character.
has anyone else noticed how on PSN Gurukommander and Ken-Atlas have almost 30 000PP!!!!!!. are those guys hackers or something cuz i see one of the best players on SSF4 with only 6700PP lol
@72
I seems Daigo is not really a pro.
He cant handle any other characters except Ryu really well in tourneys
He mashes like a 5 year old
He only gets better by constant practice. (Not really a secret)
He loses to new characters unless he fights them over and over. Instead of adjusting quickly and preparing for all situations.
He makes bad assumptions about characters saying that they are weak before they are fully tested.
And he wins by using the most balanced character in the game with all of the tools/setups in the world.
Did you know Hakan can cancel into his super...his GRAB super, why is that even an ability???
Geez...Daigo lost 1 match...so what...doesn't mean Hakan doesn't need some buffs...Hakan is still an awful character imo...that match was full of gimmicks... Daigo just doesn't know the match-up too well.. he just needs to use more basic skills against Hakan...hold DB a lot in this match and you shut down his grab+k, super and oil dive options.
@ 77
That simple strategy that was known since day has been his great weakness.
If you just do that then Hakan will oil-up or he can keep building meter from far.
He can then do some tricks to get in with FADC.
Now that you mention it...holding DB isnt the best strategy in the world.
@74 From what I've heard they are big time point fishers really it would make sense since no one has really seen youtube vids of these guys
Honestly?!? Who cares! If anything should be realized from this video, is that all characters have the same chance to compete if you're willing to put in some time into the character. Gamerbee jacked up the whole bull$hit rumour that Adon was garbage, now Wildcat defeats Daigo's Ryu with a character that most considers a waste of time all together!
I mostly use "low tier" characters myself, mostly to prove to the majority that tier lists mean nothing if you do your homework. My main is Dan, but I picked up Adon the minute there was this whole hype about Justin Wong losing to Adon. No, Wong lost to Gamerbee..because I'm sure Justin never saw such gameplay before or met others that refused to suck the tier list dick that most like to pay homage to. Now everybody wants to jump on wildcats jockstraps and oil up?! Newsflash! Daigo's lost to a Dan before...so what, we're not quick to jump on the Dan train when we know it will take more than just a fireball, ultra or flashy youtube combos to pull off consistent wins. You might actually have to play smart and use more than just 3 commands to achive success.
Don't get it twisted tho, ill Fuk up mans with Chun Li, Balrog, Sagat or even Dictator, in an endless battle, but its been done....yawn.
#74 AGREED-Dont know how they have so much points
@92 Like I said it's point boosting ,there is a video on youtube showing one of those "top" players boosting in matches of 1 round and the opponents basically lays down for them like Nash did for Hogan in the fingerpoke of doom.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Fbt1X...
best example of point boosting those at the top of the leader boards are garbage.
That oily bastard!
I honestly did not see that coming.
Guess I don't verse enough Hakans :p
