To set this up, the opponent needs to be cornered, then you do an well timed Jumping Light Kick after throwing them. There are a couple of ways to get the right timing, like whiffing a Standing Medium Punch and then dashing forward, but this needs to be timed correctly, or it won't be unblockable.
Why is this unblockable? Can't you just block the other way?
Its unblockable because its a bug. There's a ton in the game like Hakan not being able to 30 grab stunned dudley. There's so many match ups now there are probably a tons of things like this that are unnoticed.
It's unblockable because you get hit whether you hold back or front, meaning it can't be BLOCKED D: Although there actually is a way to block it~ input down and then block it as a crossup at nearly the exact moment the j.lk is gonna hit, almost like you're parrying it. The timing's a little tight though. Also the setups kinda done wrong in the video. If done right, shroyuken etc. will whiff, which is why it has 2 be done with 2f accuracy, because if they SRK the 2f of invincibility make the j.lk whiff.
An easier way of doing it (imo at least), is just forward dashing twice after throw and jumping lk. It's also possible to do an unblockable j.MK instead of LK, and it works on more characters.
Hey, this is Richard. You can actually just do the setup with forward throw, double dash, jumping MK.
And the stuff about being a 2-frame window is actually kinda untrue. It is pretty easy to time. I'll try to get a better video of it later!
very nasty, I can see tokido puling this on evo or something....
It would be more believable if he showed the block settings to "Block All"
Just look at the inputs, the dummy is on record/playback so Block All wouldn't have done anything anyway.
@ above, LOl...pretty funny.
Dialog-
- "Yeah, I ate the last cupcake...sry"
- "Noooo!"
Basically; the jump attack doesn't hit meaty, which means whether it crosses up or not depends on what Ryu does.
- Hold back: Ryu's block animation causes Akuma to cross up.
- Hold forward: Ryu's walking animation causes Akuma to not cross up.
So either way you end up blocking the wrong way.
To block; remain neutral on wakeup and block towards the corner on the exact frame that the attack hits.
Other options:
- Mash out a LP Shoryuken, taking the hit in the air and leaving Akuma stuck with his back to the corner. You're screwed if he does empty jump, though.
- Focus Backdash is a somewhat risky option. If Akuma has meter then you'll likely eat HP SRK FADC, but if he doesn't have meter then you might get away with it.
- Backdash loses to OS SRK/Demon. Don't do it.
this is not just for akuma all charecters do this its been known for a while
u can block any way u like
u just cant block it holding the direction
u have to input block at the last moment, just like parrying in 3rd
Unblockable my A..:P
been doing this since SF4
Ken, throw walk 2 pixules back & jump imediatly & hit the head area;)
I've already defeated Shen Long!
