I like the part where there would now be five "beat the game without continues" achievements. Perhaps the new ones are character specific? Either way, looks decently legit. Not enough that I'd go believe it, but enough that I wouldn't be terribly surprised if it turned out to be true. Odd that there are 160 new points instead of the allowed 200.

Leaning towards the 'fake' side.. Look at images 3 (Yun) and 5 (Ryu?).
Both of the achievement say to complete Arcade mode on the Medium difficulty or higher.

Why are 4 of these achievements the exact same thing....unless its character specific, but they really should state that.

Oh, I also forgot the part where I complain because I don't like having more versions of the same character and don't care about Yun and Yang. For that, I must hope that this isn't true and there are more actually new characters being added instead of Angry Ryu and Oni Akuma.

If Evil Ryu turns out to be the only other new playable character I sure am happy MVC3 and MK will be out by this point so I'll never have to play SSF4 again ;).

Probably fake since Evil Ryu has no real place here anyway. The Usual Shoto Suspects are all present, with Gouken being a nice change, why shy away from diversity with Akuma and Ryu's bastard child?

Fake. Four of the same achievement ("Clear Arcade mode on Medium or higher without using a continue") definitely wouldn't happen.

Also, Arcade Edition isn't even out for ARCADES yet, and AE DLC was only confirmed fairly recently. They definitely wouldn't have this ready, especially since their "game" would have to be somehow connected to and recognized by LIVE for the Achievements to show dates. It's just not possible.

If they arent fake then Evil Ryu and Shin Akuma will prob be Arcade mode bosses only.

However, technically achievements can look like that on partner-net when a game is still in development. I worked at Activision as a tester for several years so technically they'd look like that during development if these were leaked, just as an FYI.

However, I don't think these are leaked and it just seems bogus since they are all the same, etc etc what everyone else said above that I agree with!

Shin Akuma is already in the game. Evil Ryu will probably just be a re-texture of Ryu with some gameplay changes to make him overpowered, and he will only be a boss in arcade mode.

Capcom wouldn't be so stupid to waste time making evil ryu and shin akuma as playable characters. We are actually wasting valuable time even discussing it

Did it not occur to any of you that these could just simply be reskins that you fight in arcade mode? Even those descriptions make reference to fighting them in arcade mode.

It could just be Ryu with an Evil Ryu skin that you fight if you meet certain requirements(Playing on hardest difficulty, not losing a round, etc.)

Of course there are 4 achievements with the same text... the text must be approved and localized through other channels and is usually the LAST thing done in a game. Art and code get done much earlier.

Actually, here's how you prove it's fake - There are 8 new achievements. These 8 achievements feature 2 worth 50 points and 6 worth 10 points. That amounts to 160 points.

DLC that comes with achievements always adds 200 or 250 points (I don't remember which) - not 160.

Oni doesn't actually "mean" demon. The term Oni has been applied to numerous and vastly different demons and ogres in Japanese folklore, but the root meaning is actually more relevant to ghosts and spirits. And, as stated by others, Shin Akuma is already in the game. Oni Akuma looks like a new thing. He also literally looks like a new thing, in the little picture. Doesn't look at all like the Akumas we've seen in the past, still clearly the same fella, but some new form.

If this IS indeed real, I am completely disappointed. SSF4 DOES NOT need ANOTHER Ryu! Of all the characters that COULD be in the game, it would be a shame that a clone of an existing character makes it in. UGh...... I havent been this disappointed since.......... the last disappointment!! LOL.

I hope this is true. I always loved evil ryu and shone akuma in alpha. I wouldn't stop maining juri,but I'd rather hunt achievements with them than Alex, Charlie, rolento.

That said, I'm sure they wouldn't be the only new additions.

Also, the achievement has the same description because its character specific. I think everyone is forgetting how vague the ssfiv achievement descriptions are. What makes me question authenticity is that some of the pictures are moving around

Can anyone here read? If these are genuine then Evil Ryu is most likely a boss character as evidenced by the acheivment text.

hopefully there just conditioned arcade bosses and they give the costumes of the bosses to the originals e.g ryu gets evil ryu costume

Except there is an achievement for beating the game on medium w/out using a continue and has evil ryu's face for the picture. There's one for each of the new characters. I think that's pretty sweet.

If they're really going to waste a spot on Evil Ryu, then I see no point at all to even buy this update.

2 weeks ago, someone i know with an inside source told me that Rolento & Karin are definately in the game and that they where considering putting in evil ryu and shin akuma as playable characters due to lack of time and the fact that it would just be a matter of pallet swaps and move set changes rather than a full on new character model.

I did not believe him when he mention evil ryu n shin akuma, but now that this achievement list has arisen, i'd say its real.. Unfortunately.

The obvious reason for 4 "Clear Arcade Mode" achievements is that each one requires you to clear arcade mode with the shown character.

IF this is legit, Oni is most likely a what-if evil version of Gouken. Look at his build and his pose. And both Oni and Akuma means demon, so it would be a good parallel to Akuma.

Really?!? U guys are scared of another shoto? The evil versions are always created just for fun. For all we know, their hp are probably will be lower than Seth's. Quite frankly, shoto's aren't bad. People needs to stop whining.

There's no picture of any kind of Gouken. The guy in the picture is Akuma and has hair. One achievement says you have to beat him on hardest, the other says you have to clear arcade mode with him without continues.

Do we REALLY need Evil Ryu he is evl enough as it is.

I agree with #36 there being 4 of the same achievement is just the fact that its in pre production. Maybe the 2 of the yun and yang ones have to do with the new tournament mode in A.E. and the other 2 are for something else. As for Oni Akuma or Gouken and Evil Ryu I would guess those are for a regular encounter with them as secret bosses and one for beating them on hardest

That means the achievements are for clearing the game, once each, without continues, using Yun, Yang, Evil Ryu and Oni Akuma.

hey i think its oni-gouken. that second achievement has the character in a gouken stance. he has goukens bigger gut too. but now he has dragon ball z hair so its not making sense :P

i would make sense word wise... shin akuma {sastu oni hado} and oni gouken.

i hate when ppl get mad over characters, and trust when I say this much: WHY ARE YOU MAD OVER FIGHTERS THAT AREN'T COMING? I think its safe to say that the people who play shoto characters are the same people who want more shoto characters like Evil Ryu and Shin Akuma in. The people who do not want shoto characters are usually the ones who play the rest of the cast of characters. Sure we all play with numerous characters out of the roster, but the question is ..... Who do you "main" with ? Shoto characters seem to be the majority of the characters I run across. I was playing the other day and I faced 7 Ryu's in a row! When I finally got past all of the Ryu's my next match was .......Akuma and then right after that, Ken.LOL......No wonder people say other characters like Elena are hardly ever used.

I think that each of the Medium or higher difficulties are character specific:

Yun - "Just Enough" Achievement

Yang - "Up to Snuff" Achievement

Evil Ryu - "Overwhelming Power" Achievement

Shin Akuma - "Transcendent" Achievement

(Character not yet revealed) - "???" Achievement

(Character not yet revealed) - "???" Achievement

With that being said, I think Evil Ryu and Shin Akuma are the next two characters going to be announced. And since people are saying that it's only 160 gs for all of them, I have a feeling that the next two announced will bring it to the full 200 or 250 gs.

@105 That's because about %75/80 percent of people that use shoto characters don't even know how to use them the right way despite them being the easiest characters to use/learn in the whole game.

Anyone who complains about Shotos should be HAPPY that Evil Ryu and Oni Akuma are coming. Scrubby shoto players are always gonna pick shoto characters whether there's 1 or 50 shotos. At least now there's gonna be a lot of variety: finally I won't have to face 50 Ryus in a row, now it'll be 25 Ryus and 25 Evil Ryus! So I won't get bored as easily.
