Seriously? They couldn't think of something more creative? I know they work at a restaurant in the story, but they just wear their normal clothes while working. This just seems way too bland to me.
Served will have more of a meaning when winning in these threads.
I already get confused as to who is who lol, but these costume look pretty cool. Did they take it from El Fuerte. Does this mean we can expect to see these characters a s DLC?
Alternate costumes? So does that confirm Yun and Yang on the consoles? Or does AE haves alts too?
@15 Doubting SSF:AE will eventually be released on consoles is doubting that Capcom love money.
Something as simple as a name isn't enough to limit it's future release possibilities. In fact, it's almost a given that it will be out on consoles, the only question is when.
chances are if they are gonna be dlc the costumes are included. Would be lame if they are going to update the arcade machines just for costumes, so im sure we will get it in one package for a fee.
On a side note these costumes seem quite lazy. It's essentially the same costume for each character.
These costumes...we already have one chef on the roster. Shoulda given them some Xgames gear or something IMO.
BTW Catalyst, there's an interview with Ono which a GFaqs user called MuZemike found on a website. Unsure whether it's legit or not, but his personal translation says that Capcom is purposely making SSF4 AE less balanced.

We're not getting AE con consoles because we getting Ultra Street Fighter.Capcom and Ono will deconfirm AE for consoles every chance they get just to troll us.
I think is lazy to make them both Chefs or waiters they almost look alike.

I'm assuming there's something being lost there in translation because the blog changes we've seen so far for SSF4 AE don't really indicate anything of the sort that Ono is speaking of.
We don't know every single change that's being made to the characters from the blog entry, but I bet we're getting most of them.
Capcom often seems to put Ryu high up there in overall power compared with the rest of the cast, and if Ono's statement was true, I'd assume he'd be getting a lot of buffs, but he got a fair share of nerfs, though http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2010/oc...
He got some boosts, but definitely not anything that's going to put him into vanilla Sagat tier, especially considering the nerfs.
Actually, from the Ryu players I talk to, if these are all the changes he's getting in AE, they think he's going to be worse than he is now.
Anyway, I'd take that translation/interview with a big grain of salt until evidence proves otherwise. Glad you pointed it out though, it's good to know it exists.

Many of the alternative costumes are awesome, if you don't like a single one then you are just too damn hard to please. Buy the alts if you want to help out future games, if not then whatever.
What i want Ono to show us is the final A.E. line-up and hopefully some new stages. I'm hoping for a December announcement as an xmas "gift" to fans

I assume that there's a translation mishap as well, which is why I was hesitant to post it. I was hoping you would have a link to someone who could verify the translation. A quick Google translation does bring up a mangled, but similar result.
As for the changes indicating this being their line of thinking, some would argue that the minimal changes to Chun are an example of this, considering her (admittedly disputed) status as a top tier character.
I am definitely not putting too much stock into this interview, because as you said, we don't know the depth of the changes to each character, or whether the translation is valid, but rumours do turn out to be valued info quite a bit.
i guess capcom's goal with alternate costumes is to make the characters look lke Sh*t....

of course each characters normal costume usually looks better than alternates but, im sure these will appeal to many people. i think they actually look funny.
BOOOOO!!!! Seriously? THIS is next announcement over SSF4?! I cannot believe they would release this tid bit of information over new character releases. I think it could be safe to say I think MOST of the Street Fighter community would rather hear about the new characters instead of the new outfits that the two characters we already know of are wearing. Come on Capcom!! Get with the program. You have been dragging this out for MONTHS now and with less than a month to go, you still havent released the next batch of characters. What gives? I swear we wont know anything until the game comes out.

Dude so much potential wasted. Kung fu brothers can look much cooler than that. Then again, capcom seems to like doing lame costumes for some reason. at least original Yun is cool.
don't get me wrong there are a bunch of alts that I like, but some are so so bad
horrible costumes,but it doesn't matter,
I don't like those two characters anyway.

If I remember correctly, Ono-san or the Capcom development team stated a while back that there are going to be "time-released" characters in SSFIV:AE so that's probably why they aren't announcing all of the new cast members yet because on its release we won't get to play all of the AE's cast yet.
(Asians that actually have body proportions and features that are associated w/ asians? This is crazy!)

Why do we keep talking about new costumes?
Just give us NEW ALTERNATE COLORS FOR THE CLASSIC COSTUMES! Instead of 10 colors, build it up to the 20.
Now that would be someting to pay. Like a green outfit Ryu, a pink Blanka with white hair or even a white outfit Balrog with orange gloves. Why not? There's infinite possibilities and it would please pretty much everyone. Everyone love the classic costumes.
We should gather signatures and make Capcom consider this. I thought this was something obvious to do, but they keep thinking about costumes only.

Nice Job trying to shame someone into buying these atrocious costumes. Now I wouldn't go as far as saying all of them are trash but there aren't enough of the good-looking ones in the same pack to roll the dice. I'm sorry to tell you but future SF titles aren't determined by DLC purchases alone chap.

Hakan = oil obsessed cook
El Fuerte = Mexican Cook
Yun = work in a restaurant as a cook
Yang = work in a restaurant as a cook
Honda = probably knows how to cook because of friendship/rivalship with Hakan

they should be focusing on making cool characters just cooler, or making something that looks totally different (but still cool).
but i'm not surprised... i've watch vega simply become more and more Spanish, in stead of what EVERY vega player i know has wished for... more ninja like.
capcom just doesn't seem to care sometimes, and does what they want to. which is fine and all, but it just kinda sucks for some of the fans. these frustrations won't stop me from playing and enjoying the game, of course. but just givin' my 2 cents on the matter...

If pressed, I might say that the sideways baseball cap or goofy haircut, EXTREME 90s look is much more silly.
Of course, it's a silly game, wherein high school girls in sailor suits shoot fireballs at electric green men and mohawked Russian wrestlers. What costume would you design for Yang and Yun?

Correct me if I'm wrong but in there stories didn't they work in a restaurant to begin with as a job not sure if the Uncle or Gen owned the restaurant.

@ 81 the alts don't always have to do with that character's occupation. Otherwise Chun would be in her Interpol attire already.
As for Yun and Yang...if they are still in school a uniform ala Yusuke, Kuwabara or Ichigo would go along way. Yun either keeps the hat or ditches it. I guarantee you he'd look nowhere near as ridiculous as he does as a chef.

Im not hating on Japan, but it does suck that Arcades died out in the US.
As for right now though, being that Capcom likes to keep things secret as long as they can, the AE is an arcade only japan release....which is a bad financial decision - that we will have to wait for them to announce they will change.
Regarding the new costume for Yang, I think that the mysterious new charater that was being "yoga infernoed" ( http://basgrospoing.fr/wp-content/upl... ) is now fully knowned...
