• John Choi confirmed that Daigo Umehara will be attending the NorCal Regionals tournament, Nov. 20 - 21. Sent in by Zerenade.
• Shoryuken.com has an interview with BLG.Filipino Champ. Champ talks about the community and gets pretty controversial. Contains NSFW language. Tip from Actrmx.
• JLeadership mentioned a Akuma SSF4 combo video by SheltonShenanigans.
• KaraFace is posting a bunch of behind the scenes footage of the SoCal Regionals, mostly showing player reactions during and after the matches.
Dont understand where all of Filipino Champ's confidence and arrogance are coming from. Yeah he won SCR but when was the last time he got top three in anything? And saying Tokido and Daigo are free? This dude is a one hit wonder "real talk"!
I'd like to ask the comment boards also:
If you can pick a 5 player team for the U.S. who would it be?
And really think about who you pick.
I am certain the vast majority will have Filipino Champs "f*****" ass on their list.
"real talk"
His stock rose so quick, at the same time it dropped as soon as he opened his mouth. All the "stream monsters" well most of them were cheering him to win, then he blasts everyone in general, with an elitist attitude.
In retrospect he's good for the community, now people have someone to cheer against, and even though im a huge daigo fan I cheered for him. Now I'll cheer against, not that it matters. He was very disrespectful, called daigo free, yet has never accomplished anything anywhere near daigos accomplishments. Daigo has won several evo competitions, FC champ has never even made top 8.
Super Street Fighter IV — Top 8
1. Daigo Umehara (Ryu)
2. EG.Ricky Ortiz (Rufus, Chun-Li)
3. Infiltration (Akuma)
4. Mike Ross (E. Honda)
5. Bruce “GamerBee” Hsiang (Adon)
5. Vance “Vangief” Wu (Zangief)
7. Henry Cen (E. Honda, Dhalsim)
7. Shizza (Chun-Li)
This guy says norcal is better than socal, All but gamerbee, daigo, and ricky are from socal. Also champs do not cry at tournaments because they cannot accept defeat.
^Wont have Filipino's "f*****" ass on their list.
Wow, and this guy is teammates with JuiceBox?
I've been around the Street Fighter scene for about a year now, and with some of the American players, I feel a little disgusted by their arrogance.
Filipino Champ mentions all the haters on Shoryuken.com, well hey, don't be an a**hole, don't be a d-bag and be humble instead of an arrogant bigshot. People like champs who have a silent confidence in my self.
I was cheering on Daigo at SoCal for that exact reason.

Other than that, The Akuma video is put together brilliantly and it's arguably the best combo video I've ever seen.
On Filipino Champ:
How can anyone look up to this idiot? If I were his sponsors I'd drop him in a heartbeat. He brings disrespect and a lack of integrity to the game.
He's a bit bitchy as well, isn't he? Looks like he gets that from his buddy, Ricky Ortiz.
I'm tired of people saying things like "well he's a dick, but at least he's honest/tells it like it is/ etc." You can be honest, and 'tell it like it is' without being a f*cking prick about it. Stop making excuses for this guy. His win would have meant a lot more for the "American SF Community" if he:
A. Wasn't so arrogant about it after the fact
B. Didn't talk $&^% behind the backs of other top players
C. Didn't go and outright scorn the very people who were cheering him on to win.
So yeah, this 'win' doesn't mean anything for 'American' SF players b/c this guy doesn't give a F about anyone else but himself anyway. Besides, it's our fault he couldn't have beat Tokido because our American Akuma's are all scrubs, right? Dude can go F himself, and I hope he gets bodied at NCR...
Hahaha... Oh wow. I mean... He MIGHT be totally sarcastic about all of it. If not... Wow.
I especially liked the part where he claims he's the most skilled player out there. That's why he turtles it out with Dhalsim, because he's a master of footsies, mixups, mindreads and execution.
Wait...
What a bas****! , does one tournament win grant u to insult top players, instead he should be imprisoned for taking bribe..!
I don't know what all the bitching is about this is exactly what the community needs. A player that's willing to take jabs at people, plus don't any of you listen to Marn? That dude talks sh*t constantly. Who cares? It adds drama to the game, which is great imo.
@9 SpaniardSRK
Vance and Ricky are from Norcal, but only Shizza and Mike Ross are from Socal. The others are all from different places. Henry Cen (New York), Infiltration (Korea), and obviously Daigo and Gamerbee
@25
People are not talking sh*t about Marn because this news topic is about F-Champ.
#25
Drama is another thing and talking sh** , insulting people and taking bribe is another..!
@9 there is 2 from norcal and 2 from socal on that list you know nothing.
Daigo free? Yea and that's why Daigo almost beat him in Grand Finals. Free means you totally destroy your opponent. I didn't see that during the Finals nor money matches people posted. So wth is he trolling about? Funny how ONE tourney can bring out the cockiness in people.
I'm not about to say Champ is a clean staright shooter with no issues but people need to slow it down a bit. He was nothing but hilarious at Season's beatings and he jokes Daigo is free so much because he has beat Daigo time and time again in money matches. The guy is far from a quiet respectful individual, this is because he is a funny hype monster let it be. This respect business gets so nutty on EH.

"Besides, it's our fault he couldn't have beat Tokido because our American Akuma's are all scrubs, right?"
Be careful with quotes like this some people believe it and forget JR beat Tokido at EVO in a mirror match.
J.r. is free........never has done nothing in ssfiv but play girls on xbox live. He was a good 3s player, but not sure why he hasn't performed in sfiv.
Fchamp didn't come out of his shell or just recently start acting cocky. That is who he is, that is how he always has been. Wether its just his character or he really feels that way, the win didn't change him at all. He's the same guy he always was dumasses.
Don't use the name Filipino Champ because it disgraces the Filipino race... unless you replace champ with chump. I thought this guy wasn't arrogant, but unfortunately, he's one of those individuals who have predictable personalities. Predictable means uninteresting.
I never said JR was great I said he beat Tokido in a mirror match. Also calling him free followed by insults while having a decent knowledge of his past is just predictable when most of these comments are slightly "informed" insults towards people who are throwing out insults that are much less serious.
I'm saying lets not say hasty things like "Besides, it's our fault he couldn't have beat Tokido because our American Akuma's are all scrubs, right?". Due to the very recent well documented event (EVO) where JR (supposedly a do nothing in SF4 player who is free) beat Tokido in a mirror match. Tokido is great and JR is not known for his SF4 play yet he still showed he can beat a great Akuma using the exact same tools (that sounds skillful to me).
The discussion isn't even about those players it is about F.Champ who has always been a loudmouth over the top player. Heck if any of you saw some of the stuff Neo (of marvel fame) has said/done I bet there would be a pitchfork and torch mob at his door. These players go nuts, talk, trash, and step on toes however if you went out and saw them you would see they are just be wacky with the energy. I never went on a forum and complained about the guy talking on his cellphone so loudly it made my dinner slightly less enjoyable.
The difference is it's not on a cellphone and it's not your dinner. It is posted on a public forum and the interview is reflective of his thoughts and attitude on winning. So people are expected to comment and share their thoughts, just as he did for his interview. My comment about the American Akuma players was simply a quote from his response to a question. 'Joking' or not, it's pretty lame to blame the people you play against for your own shortcoming.
@ Teapo
You do realise that FChamp said that in the video? HE was the one claiming there are no good Akuma's in the US?
@ IrPanda
Sure, some people are cocky, then others are stupid enough to say they'd take a bribe in a competition.
See the difference?
I guess the Socal Champion was the reason why Daigo is picking up Cammy now.

FChamp calling Tokido a f**** behind his back.. this is pretty silly considering one of his best friends is Ricky Ortiz.
