Rules posted for Super Street Fighter 4 EVO online, 16 states prohibited

SpeedBrkr pointed out that the official rules for the EVO Super Street Fighter 4 Online Tournament have been posted on Galaxy4Gamers.com.

Unfortunately, because some places have banned gaming for money, if you live in these states, you cannot participate in this event: Arizona, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Montana, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee and Vermont.

Also, players cannot live in Alaska or Hawaii.

Here are how the brackets will be sorted.

Bracket/Zone 1 – North West plus Canada: Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Indiana, Wyoming, Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, Nebraska. Provinces: British Colombia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba

Bracket/Zone 2 – North West plus Canada: Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Indiana, Wyoming, Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, Nebraska. Provinces: British Colombia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba

Bracket/Zone 3 – North East plus Canada: Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire. Provinces: Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia

Bracket/Zone 4 – North East Plus Canada: Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire. Provinces: Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia

Bracket/Zone 5 – South West: California, Utah, Colorado, Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma

Bracket/Zone 6 – South West: California, Utah, Colorado, Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma

Bracket/Zone 7 – South East: Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia

Bracket/Zone 8 – South East: Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia

Its because of state laws prohibiting contest for money since they are considered gambling. Its really dumb though.
