Details on how to sign up for the EVO online SSF4 tourney were posted recently on EVO2k.com. The page includes video tutorials on how to find and enter the tournament that's being hosted by Galaxy4Gamers. • Xbox 360 Online Tournament, top 8 matches will be streamed live with a broadcast team.
• Tournament will kick off on December 11, 2010 and run through the entire day for those that advance. The finals will be played on December 18, the following Saturday.
• $5 USD to enter.
• The winner will receive free airfare, hotel accommodations and entry into EVO 2011.
• Galaxy4Gamers will be helping to run the show and ensuring no one cheats by using the same IP address to enter twice.
• Mr. Wizard said they'll be giving out something special that's never been given out at an EVO tournament before.
• In the future, an online tournament for both systems might be an option.
• Brackets will be separated into 8 quadrants to cover the U.S.A. and Canada to try to localize matches, so you're playing people close to you. The top 2 players from each quadrant will advance.
• The top 8 finishers will get a prize package of some sort.
• For those that continue to advance, you should have a new match every 10 to 15 minutes.
• There will be a Beat A Pro challenge held on Dec. 18th as well.
How is it a waste of money? Are you really too cheap to pay $5? No, you most likely won't win Evo. Hell, you probably won't win this tournament. It's about having fun and competing. Also, the airfare, hotel accomodations, and the entry fee for Evo 2K11 is worth more than any grass roots local tournament you can enter.
@10 CONSIDER IT DONE BUB! RROOOOOAAAAARRRRRR!!!!
Gief , Honda, T.hawk or Blanka
one of them will win this bcuz of laggy tourny
I wonder how they will contain turbo buttons. That is my only gripe, 5 dollars for me is not all that much but i actually have a job so that is probably why. Its just for fun i have the ability to win but their are people in my region that could destroy me without blinking but its just to give it a try and for some fun. Also XBL has a better chance to make the tourney lag free as possible. PS3 needless to say offers shotty netplay at best.
Actually, has anyone tried to enter the SSF4 matches organized by Galaxy4Gamers before? They have been running money tournaments for awhile so they should have experience handling this. It would be good if someone with some experience in their tournaments can chime in with their thoughts.
I only have a PS3. =(
