If you want to go further, make sure you stop by Level|Up Series' YouTube channel where you can find many more videos from this event.
I was there for it. Mr. Chips-Ahoy!!! himself, Chauncy "TRU" Talon. I will not lie. The crowd got hype for the Marn vs Keits fight. It went to a 3rd set, but after the first match the crowd was kind dead. The crowd picked up when Keits was in Marns ass like colon cancer but then the crowd went crazy when Marn almost comeback in the 2nd match it got dead again.
Marn is just a beast in TvC. And big ups on using Alex. 3rd Strike characters represent.
is zero the sagat of TvC or something? i'm noticing a common character in these videos.
@n00b:
Yes and no. Zero isn't common because he's any more broken than the others, he's common because he's both easy to pick and has enough benefits that you can take him really far. Still, not everyone picks up a Zero and plays like Marn.
@whoshoyu:
I loved how excited Skisonic when Keits landed the big combo. They host the weekly podcast together on SRK (when Keits get his combo in you can hear Ski yell, "Wakeup Shoryuken!"). But yeah, Ski definitely knows his TvC.
Here's another match that I think is worth watching:

Kurasa and Shiki are both ca-razy players (I got rocked by Shiki's Yatter/Ippatsu. I won 0/20).
I love this game so much. It's just so incredibly fun to play and watch, though I'm nowhere near this level of play.
@8: Hey, dude, when you create a dedicated capcom fighting game guide site, you can decide what gets posted on the front page. Until then, how about you just keep your mouth shut and enjoy what you get, okay?
Damn. I didn't even know you could do half the stuff that was being done with Alex. I guess he's not as bad as I thought. Although, due to lack of an arcade stick, I won't be able to do some of the Zero combos shown (but since I suck with arcade sticks, I probably won't be able to anyway).
I like when Marn predicts the Mega Crashes, Baroques, and then continues on with the combo.
And #9, #8's entitled to his opinion. I like TvC more, too, although I wouldn't go as far as to boo Street Fighter.
the funny thing is that this game is already obsolete.
@11
It's obsolete? Just because of MvC3's announcement? I think you are sadly mistaken. MvC3 is almost an entire year away, and even when it comes out, people will still be playing this game.
@ 11 - you mean like how SF2 is obsolete now that SSF4 is around? because no one plays old games. not at all.
This game is a lot of fun, guys. Just watching these clips should tell you that.
I only have two regrets about this game. The first is that it wasn't released on the 360 or at least the PS3. My second is that there was no arcade release.
I know it's hard for a lot of fighting game fans who don't own a Wii console to get into the game... but don't bash it if you haven't played it. I hope those who can't play the game at least enjoy the gameplay.
@XNJ He is the Magneto. Tekkaman Blade is Cable. He pingpong super is the new "HYPER VIPER BEAM!!!"
Keits grinnin' and marn muggin in the third video is so rofl
Now that's what we call a MESSY CASUAL FIGHT-GAME WANNABE, right there!
@12 & 14
This game's hardly played as it is regardless of MVC3's announcement. Also you can't compare this game to SF2 for obvious reasons. This game for one, is nowhere near as popular or as well liked as SF2 was and struggles to get 30 participants at a major just a couple months after its release.
Manny actually there haven't been that many major tournies to show who is playing especially west coast,
http://tonamento.com/ViewGame.aspx?id=27
so there's no real way to tell what the install base is though it's considerably low.
Great Game. Small fanbase due to it being on Wii. How many fighting gamers just so happen to own Wii'S? How many of them are willing to buy a wii for 1 game?
As far as hate for the game goes, I really don't know where it all comes from. If haters would play the game, it'd shut a lot of them up real quick.
@#25 I hear ya man if TvC was on Ps3 or 360 i think a lot more people would be willing to give it a try, also i think what hurt the game as well is a lot of people mostly marvel players already had their minds maid up whether they were gonna play it or not. Unfortunately people who didn't want to give it a try out number those that do, but the game has only been out for a little while so hopefully the fan base will grow.
So uhm, I was just wondering. What's the difference between this game and BlazBlue? Kind of identical imo. However, i could be totally off since I haven't even played either of these titles. Oh and, howcome there's no more footage of blazblue? is the game dead already? Answers and clarification would be greatly appreciated.
@28
Identical? No f-ing way. TvC's definitely a lot more mashy. I'm not calling the game a button-masher, mind you, but it's a whole lot more straightforward in how the game is played. The way to make basic combos is pretty much the same for everyone. Just chain light attacks to medium attacks to a heavy attack, maybe launch, and then finish off with a hyper combo. There's also the tag team element that makes it different but that's pretty self-explanatory.
With BlazBlue, every single character is different, so the learning curve is a bit steeper. It's not like SF where you can just jump in with your favorite Shoto and start spamming Hadokens. Not everyone's moves chain the same way, so you'll have to experiment or look up combos online. Once you know what the combos are, however, it's pretty easy to actually learn how to preform them. BlazBlue's pretty lenient on timing.
And if you're looking for videos, GameChariot has them. Or you can just type in "GameChariot BlazBlue" on Youtube. Or "Character X vs Character Y."
BlazBlue isn't dead. It's only begun to live.
