Kotaku posted a short write up about Daigo Umehara. Nothing in this piece is likely to jump out at you, but it does mention that Daigo is going to provide input on a new line of sticks from Mad Catz, which is good news for those hoping for more offerings as far as joysticks go."With the Mad Catz sponsorship, I don't allow compromise and practice even harder. My mindset has changed with the Mad Catz deal. I'm more determined than ever to be the best to live up to the 'pro' status."

I just hope that Daigo don´t lose to Justin just because of that broken Rufus´ Ultra 2
#6 Watching the stream of East Coast Throwdown 2, it was somewhat clear that rufus´ u2 is one of the best in the game. Rufs didn´t deserved that.
How come some characters get a counter ultra, that is so hard to hit, and Rufus, that already had an excelletn Ultra gets one that is so efficient?
See what happens when you make a "good" product mad catz?
First off, LOL at another one of Daigo's "comments" that were obviously written by Mad Catz's publicist. He can't speak a lick of English.
I remember his original "quote" with the press release first announcing he had signed on:
"In my opinion, the Mad Catz Tournament Edition FightStick is the most realistic and authentic Arcade Stick available and continues to be my controller of choice when playing in tournaments. I'm excited to be part of Team Mad Catz and look forward to working closely alongside with them."
But props to him though. I think sponsorship deals like this are pretty cool for the community. I'm not sure how you can really improve on the fight stick. I think it's gotten to a point now where what you want in your stick is down to personal preference. Perhaps a stick that's a lot easier to customize(like not needing a screwdriver) so you can swap the gate out, or swap buttons easier. Other than that, not sure how they can improve on the TE stick which is basically ripped straight off the arcade cabinets.
^He used 6 different characters that weren't Ryu at LA fight club and beat some of LA's top players.
@13 There always has to be one dumb comment like yours on EventHubs right?
U guys forgot he has a killer balrog back in the day and also for a Guy that said hakan might b the weakest charater he certainly beat some peeps with him in la fight club
@22
Duh why would he use someone else in a tournament. Ryu is his main, he knows what to do with Ryu. It's best to stick to one character because you learn the game faster that way.
It's not like he knew Ryu was going to be top tier from the start he just likes playing Ryu.
3rd Strike is an exception I've read he wasn't really interested in fighting games during his 3s career. I guess he choose Ken to speed up process to becoming good.
Anyways why would he switch characters? He's been playing Ryu for about 2 years now. And your earlier comment about testing sticks. Daigo has a huge fighting game experience, he's played a lot of fighting games.
Why not let him test sticks, this guy has been in the fighting games tournament scene since forever.
Rufus u2 isn't broken its good but people spend hours testing the game and his u2 was part of a game upgrade not a new game they would find out if its a broken ultra the game is completely balanced if it wasn't I would run in to a lot of people playing as rufus with his second ultra but i dont-typed with one hand in a short time mind the bad gammar
@Clovr4Lyf
i love how these online scrubs seem to know what kind of standards your suppose to have going into a tournament esp to a guy whos the best in the world.
morons like this guy probably the same idiots who cry cuz of turtling tactics. they can use whoever the hell they want to win money, they dont need to please scrubs like u

The TE sticks are terrible huh? Have you ever seen a real SF4 arcade cabinet? IT'S THE SAME DAMN THING. Same Sanwa buttons, same SQUARE gate. You say the TE stick is bad because it has square instead of octagon gate, well that's just dead wrong my local arcade has a cabinet straight from Japan - the stickers and moveguide are all in Japanese, and low and behold square gate. Just like the Japanese prefer gumdrop tops instead of America bat tops, little stick resistance as opposed to stiff, and soft buttons that click.
Here is a picture for you:

Add to that the fact that Capcom themselves designed the stick, and are official partners in it with MadCatz. This is obvious from the fact that Capcom's official logo is printed on the stick and all over the packaging. All Capcom basically did was license the production/manufacturing of it out to MadCatz. Capcom doesn't exactly have a joystick making factory.
If we had people close their eyes, they couldn't tell if they were on a TE stick or on a real SF4 cabinet. Why? BECAUSE IT'S LITERALLY THE SAME THING. Again, check the picture.
First! :D
Can't wait how how they will improve the best! Gold PCBs?
