Reno and AndriaSang.com provided a translation of the latest Japanese Super Street Fighter 4 blog that announces an incoming patch on June 15, 2010.• Fei Long's infinite combo loop against Juri will be removed.
• Unblockable Ultras will be fixed. This is where you throw a fireball and the Ultra flash made it so your opponent could not block.
• Guy will no longer be able to be thrown while he's crouching and in hit stun animation. A bug made it possible to combo throw moves while he was in this state.
• Ibuki's invincibility window on wake up — under certain circumstances — was too long, this will be fixed.
• The 2nd hit of Ibuki's Spinning Kicks missing Chun-Li will be fixed.
• Counter hit damage on M. Bison's (Dictator) Ultra 2 was too low.
• Sagat's Angry Charge was not working properly in some instances (EX-Tiger Uppercut doesn't get damage upgrade in some cases).
Note: This is the same day the free Tournament Mode DLC will be made available, these fixes will be rolled into the package.
Glad they decided to fix the unblockable Ultras. I don't really care, if someone can actually do that in a real match they deserve to win, but it'll hopefully cut back on the whining a bit.
My guess is that they'll increase the damage on Bison's Psycho Punisher. When Bison hits someone with this Mp-Mp target combo, and combos it with ultra, it only does like 380 or something like that (I don't know I don't use Bison). I guess it'll be 450 to 480 to make up for the weak damage ypu get for comboing it.

What they are doing with the Bison's U2 is correcting the damage that it does on counter hit. As of right now U2 does *less* damage on counter hit which doesn't make sense. The patch will correct this and he will do MORE damage on counter hit.

Clovr who cares what you've seen, Abel's U2 only hits on other people messing up or lack of Knowledge kinda like Last Dust Dread(My Ultra of Choice with Cody) where alot of people don't know he goes for the wrench swing on whiff or block and the few who don't know he dose the "CRASH" launcher.

Well, I'm not sad or happy about the unblockable ultra nerf really. Its just 1 less thing to worry about learning, practicing and perfecting.
Happy to hear about the fixes to Ibuki's broke invincibility.
Hope they don't make Bison's ultra do even more damage, but if it was doing the wrong damage on counterhit then that needs to be fixed.
Also, I can't wait for the 8 man tourney mode! Just wish it was double elimination rather than single elimination or a choice between the two.
First off, we could expect the tier list to be change a lot if Capcom decides to keep releasing DLCs to buff and nerf characters.
I just hope that Capcom will patch the game so that Juri could combo a HK pinwheel in the corner into U2 unless she could only do this to certain characters.
Getting rid of the unblockable doesn't really matter because like 99% of the community probably doesn't know how to do them anyway and it's too risky to use them in tournaments.
Lol to u guys out there complaining about Abel ultra 2 a move doesn't need to nerfed if u keep falling for the move everytime it does its damage because u can c the move coming at u And u can snuff that move easily so instead of whining about a move play defensive n learn how to counter the move

They are just fixing bugs, if they patch characters then its up to them of course they will look to the community but for now its most likely going to be characters who seriously need a balance change. For once Makoto and Guy indefinitely need somethings to make them better.
But the game has only been out for a month stop babying about and wait and see whats to come. We haven't even glazed the cake on what everyone is capable of right now.
I want Capcom to add in juggling so that way, maybe the community of the other SF franchises would shut their mouth about SF4 is for noobs.
Something has to be done about Fei Long and Cammy's Ultra two. I don't play with either but I was getting wrecked by a really good Fei player and the only rounds I would be him were those that he triggered his sh!tty ultra.
Abel's Ultra 2 is pretty amazing, the problem with it is it is the only Ultra along with Hakan's that no one can jump in on. It's like you have to treat it like Dhalism has super and that's pretty amazing.
The Biggest problem with his ultra two is that it can be canceled...

Can we just get this straight, these are not buffs or nerfs. These are patches for glitches. The glitches were buffs or nerfs and these are simply 'as it should be's'. While characters will get better or worse from them they are just patches. So can people stop saying you should nerf this buff that unless it is a glitch.

Kinda What I did to a noob today he random metsu hadouken right in my face... when I was Cody so all I did was Ultra him right back, it was beautiful the metsu went right through and I hit him for every hit except one and guess what I did...Bad Stone cross up for the win
ppl r complaining that bisons ultra 2 doesnt do enough damage...wot about sakuras?? its does about 100 less damage - cant be comboed into with normals, and its extremely rare to land it without comboing into it, or EX bar - not to mention that it doesnt cross up - shudnt that get more damage too??
Adon and Dee Jay need bufffffs! Dee Jay does so little damage its freaking annoying, you can combo two EX moves and it will barely pass 300. Adon.. just sucks right now, Why give him a bad AA? You nerfed his health then take away his AA capabilities? What is wrong with you crapcom? He doesn't have a fireball, he needs to be in your face... he needs his AA OR HP! And for god sakes, make his links a tad easier, no one plays characters like that for a reason, they take way too much effort to only be sub-par.

ables second ulra is rediculose! and as a cammy player i hae the CQC! it does 10 less damage then the first ultra. As its a counter and there hard to pull off the damage should be raised!
also guile recovers to quick from his sonic boom! i was on the ground basically next to the guile got up did gyro drive smasher and it blocked any other charicter it would of connected even from further away!
i dont pick balrog but it seems harder to pull of the second ultra. is it just me? i have no proble with the other 720 ultras.
hmm not really whining, more just an observation, the whole point of of her ultra two is catch people jumping in at you not just those standing beside you (and most of the time they would block as soon as they seen the ulta), so whats the point when the move misses you majority of the time, ive noticed this alot playing offline against the computer, her ultra when playing on hardest very rarely hits, leaving you wide open,
I know this is a patch to fix glitches, but I hope someone at Capcom reads this.
Vega needs five things.
Vega's Scarlet Terror NEEDS invincibility frames! Vega cannot use this a reversal or as a "get off me" move because it gets stuffed by everything. Also, maybe reduce it's startup. Ryu's Shoryuken's startup is 3 frames and invincible. Vega's Scarlet Terror's startup is 7/7/4/4 (LK/MK/HK/EX) frames and no invincibility! However, Vega might not need a reduced startup on his Scarlet Terror, as long as he gets invincibility frames at startup.
Vega's super: Flying Barcelona Special. It needs to return to it's SF2 way of activating: when Vega grabs his opponent. In SF4 and SSF4, it activates when you touch the wall. As if it was bad enough that you have to steer his super, but if you miss, you waste your super bar. Part of Vega's strategy in SF2 and HD Remix was to keep the opponent guessing if it's a regular walldive, or his super. That mindgame is now lost in SF4 and SSF4.
Vega's mask and claw toss. Clawless Vega deals 10% less damage. AND loses reach. Maskless Vega may deal 10% more damage, but he also recieves 10% more damage. I don't think this gamble is appropriate for Vega. It's bad enough that Sagat is still top tier, but his new move increases the damage on his next Tiger Uppercut. How is it that top tier Sagat get a powerUP move, while Vega gets some powerDOWN moves?! Do away with the mask and claw losing ability, and keep the taunt moves but without the percentage loss.
Vega was quick and agile in SF2 and HD Remix. However, in SF4 and SSF4, he is sluggish. Sometimes, RUFUS is faster than VEGA. When someone asked why this is so at an interview, Capcom's response was "You can't tell that he's fast because he's tall, because he has tall legs. IT'S AN IRUSSION!" Bull. And don't say "Oh, SSF4's graphic engine doesn't allow it." Look at El Fuerte's and Guy's running moves. THOSE ARE FAST! Btw, Vega's Rolling Crystal Flash: why is it so slow? Did you switch it with Gen's rolling move?
This one is optional. Maybe you can give Vega's ultra 1, Bloody High Claw, a tracking ability. Sometimes when you launch with it in a corner, it won't connect afterwards. It would work like Spiderman's Maximum Spider from MvC2.
Apart from that optional note, this is what's keeping Vega in low tier. He was top tier in SF2 and HD Remix, but then Capcom tried to sabotage him!
I read the posts and nobody mentionned the 2nd Ultra of Abel.In my opinion they have to nerf it otherwise you gonna see plenty of abel player online or in a tournament. This 2nd Ultra is too easy to touch the opponent and does too much damage. (I'm a Abel player but when it s too easy it s boring)

1. I feel dudley's lp dp recovers a bit to quick would like to see it bit more like ken's or ryu's
2. juri ex air kick thing has too much priority considering she can link her ultra 2 after the wall bounce
3. bison's ultra 2 is a bit confusing lol on reset its like a 50/50 guess
these 3 points are classed as nerfs which i doubt capcom will do. these are just the problems i find fighting against these chars but please bare in mind ive only played for a month so maybe i just havent worked certain things out. nerfs and buffs aint my main concern as i feel the game is really balanced at the moment only thing that defines a player is the skill level.
complaints about the game so far:
1. blind select should be optional in endless battles to make the game more casual. hate playing a friend and picking my main and he picks someone casual??? end up having to text who im picking! very annoying!
2. should be able to play endless during arcade request
3. ultra commands should be listed when picking your ultra's more for casual play
4. i really do not like the character select screen??? looks to full find i miss out certain chars when picking looks all a bit cramped. prefer the old style. new style looks more like tekken with the high light char above and char select underneath. always prefered left and right high light char and char select in the middle like vanilla... like all sf games really??? lol would be real nice if we could have the option to change the lay out somehow. sure you could do something like this in soulcalibur??? not sure. would be nice
5. wish you could do training sessions online with invites would be a big help training wise
6. input commands during trails. would help some people out
7. possible way to search a specific gametag to watch their replys such as gameinn lol and others of course

ive been caught with abel's ultra 2 a couple of times but im sure its pretty easy to counter as i have yet to see my top abel friends select that ultra they stick to the ultra 1.
i would say if your having trouble with it go to the training room and practice countering it im sure timed jump attacks stuff it not sure but my main abel friends dont use it showing me its not as good as you think... just takes a minute to work out... im having problems with bison's ultra 2 tho lol dont know what way to block lol gets me scared when i see the animation activate lol
wish bison's ultra 2 was a charge therefore i could look out for it more... i know you can jump out of his ultra 2 but on wake up its a bit dodgy... you can get caught in the air im sure... ???? still a bit new to me having lots of problems against bison in super... i main ryu any advice would be appreciated

How does that work,every time i go in alpha channel keep seeing same replay counting down.
I thought the channel was like the new replay channel,where you had a list of alpha players and choose which you wanted to watch.
Adding Names on the replays before clicking and voting system would be nice.

Well its cool that they patched up the whole "unblockable ultra" bug. I don't main dictator but I see the point. Counter damage on his ultra 2 is a bit lower that I thought. Then againt it can punish characters like ryu & sagat who spam projectiles. Maybe its a balance? I still don't understand what they're gonna do with sagat but I hope its nothin too drastic (like givin him most of his power back). Sorry fei players but that infinite loop combo he has (even though it works on juri so far) has to go. Might as well give honda & gen infinite loop combos lol. Tournament mode's gonna be a blast can't wait. Peace :)

Capcom, I think that you are somewhat a little stupid...really a dumb as a cat tryin to F&%k a doorknob. Who the hell cares about the higher teir character patch (expect for the Guy patch). Give the lower tier chacarters more ways to fight. Street Fighter is the stuff. I love the game and I love to fight. And I know there will always be tiers in fighting games but damn. Street Fighter still has the same flaw.
Okay Super was to make all the lower tier characters better and add 10 new ones. Everyone was pose to get a new move to help them be able to fight well. THats s#$t is unture in this game. Sakura for example only needs one or two more things to help her out. She feels unfinished. She just does. She cant get in on any any of the high teir. Bison has her on locks, Fighting Blanka is a mind f--k. Dont even get me started on Ryu and ken. I feel like for all the hard work I put into the character I feel like a dummy when someone beats me with something easy to do. I dont give a damn what anyone says Rufus is wack. All he has to do is dive kick all day in to any mix up and hes in. Boxer only needs to jab, Sagat only needs the tiger shot. What the hell? What happened to hard work. I have fought at least 2500 fights. I play all the time and yes I have a high ranking in Ranbats:Champaign, Il and Chicago,Il. But still to get far in a tourney only to get beat by a high teir character that has easy things to use. I feel as though the only way to win majors is to pick a top tier character. Here is what i wish could happen:
-Give Sakura back her dive kick from CVS2, but dont make it as gay as Rufus's kick. IT should just give her someway to get in.
-Give the lower tier a move that would at least help their weakness. (A counter Ultra for Fei Long, did the weed have that big of an effect on yo mind that day)

i dont see why some people crying about sagats angry scar fix. Its only cos sometimes the move doesnt even work, thats why they fixing it, its not getting buffed or anything. So many complaints on shoto characters.. come on they nerfed all the DPs (DP used to beat pretty much EVERYTHING in other SF games), u just have to learn how to deal with them spammers.
I'm ok with the fixes, not quite sure about the guy one though, i dont even understand.
Makoto should not be able to be thrown out of a COMMAND GRAB. This alone banishes her to very low tier. Also, it would help if her karakusa box actually extended to her hands.
Oh and get rid of the weird hit box problem for Hakan when you try and doge a fireball with slider.
1) Character throws fireball
2) Hakan doges with slider, going across whole screen to be infront of enemy
3) Fireball is now on opposite side of screen
4) Hakan stands up
5) Hakan gets hit by the fireball!
- This happens whether or not it connects, unless you followup with the second part of slider.

#1 hell the f no. His dp is stuffed by normals. NORMALS. That's the balancing factor - that he can follow up after. If you are going to change it, give it priority/invinc frames or something. It's the worst dp in the game IMO.
Also, someone please patch the nerf they made to El Fuerte's Tortilla AOE. It is much harder to hit with it compared to vanilla. He did not need a single nerf.

I have a question being both a Sagat and an Adon user since SF2 / Alpha and currently, how do you lose to these incarnations?
Adon is far from "bad" he just takes more skill to control and use then obviously all of you have. His low life makes it so if you mess up any newb who can do DP with ken can beat you.
For Sagat, they chopped his sack off in this one. Unsafe knees, way slower FB, slower everything and yet you still lose? His knee from a distance does like 10 damage...cmon wtf haha. How do you lose to a very very very slow weak big character? If you are that bad go play Tekken.
wow, a lot of people moan about their characters in here huh? Here's a thought, get better and stop moaning and blaming your character for your losses. You can win with anyone in this game, it's hella balanced.
Some characters take longer to learn to an effective level. So be it. Just persevere and improve your game and stop blaming your character. The game is still young there will be more stuff figured out in time. For now just play who you like and buckle down. :-)
@93 yeah that's what I was saying, there was no reason to nerf El Fuerte for any reason. When was he ever in even a remotely high tier? There are sooo many tortillas that whiff now which makes no sense. It's just his tortilla - everything else is fine. Love the added damage to Guacamole.

i didnt know how vulnerable dudley was while setting out his dp thanks for that havent had much match experience against dudley... considering you only get 1 game in ranked and in endless theres a queue to play the same char again and he might get knocked out or he might pick someone else... thats why i would like to able to play arcade req and wait to play someone in 2 man endless with no blind select just to train and gain match exp quicker!

i think the game is well balanced sagat is a lot harder to use sort of the same for ryu dont get me wrong tho sagat is definitely top tier you just have to be better to use him still have problems fighting sagat but the problem lies with the player using him not the character. rubbish sagats dont stand a chance but skilled sagats still dominate... think thats pretty fair
guile is a lot better normals got buffed and his quick charge for sonic boom helps alot!

I completly agree with this! I don't even play vega and I Hate fighting him but I feel his ultra should work this way. all the other stuff you mention seems fair too. Well lets hope they make some more patchs in the future to polish the game more.

i hoped they would realize that nobody plays gen anymore. its not only the missing hands. the jump arch is even worse.. still havent found a new main.. i dont wanna play a boring shoto (among the other 12 billion ryus online) where all combos are learned in minutes.. please give him his sf4 strength back or take him out of the game (because of him i'm not using the random character button xD)

@71-- rather than whining and calling for nerfs to sagat/ryu/ken/akuma. Perhaps you should focus on becoming a better player because I have come across many akumas/sagats/ryu and kens online and have a decent win rate against those fighters. In fact I've beaten so many akuma's online that I've unlocked the 'akuma killer' title.
Ibuki does far too much damage in a game that is suppose to have been lowered on that. And besides that, she has all the tools any character could ever want. This is madness. It's really much worse than vanilla sagat if you think about it because 304 damage can come from landing a light punch with Ibuki. Well, nerf Ibuki or buff EVERYONE else. It's all the same to me.
I am a bison player and I think bison doesn't need any more buffs a lot of scrubs started using him in super cuz he is strong and it's way easier to win with him than in vanilla where u had to work hard for a win I started maining deejay now he's less scrub friendly
Cammys Counter Ultra needs to be a grab, why call it counter ultra if it breaks against half the moves it should work against? Stupid
And no one fixes Makoto's anything. Cuz the Devs hate her.

Why post comment about making FIVE buffs to your main character!! lol. Everybody even Ryu players could say "i wish this or that.." lol. vega is one of the most improved characters since vanilla with his ultra improvement and overhead! I destroy most with him hes a beast!!

How about a patch for Adons inconsistent Jaguar kick. Maybe its me but the move does not come out most of the time. His jaguar knee comes out no problem. Ive even gone to training mode and still its inconsistent. Its a dp motion i mean come on it doesnt get any easier! Any other Adon players with this issue?
Been playing since SF2 and while I did love SF4 it seems like now I have to be waaay too patient in fights. I really need to refrain from trying too much since it's pretty much a turtling game. Super Turtle Fighter 4? "Huuh block and punish..." zzzZzzz Lacks dynamics and after so much anticipation for this game... I rarely wanna play anymore because it's sooo boring.

What about the fact that Guile can be throw while attempting to punch...which becomes the overall strategy of most opponents who cannot figure out how to box with Guile. So they just tick throw.
Since Guile cannot do this it creates false reactions within Guile players. We will feel out of throw distance so we play accordingly and then magically we get thrown. Its a major head f*ck.
Guiles throw range is non existant and I have videos and countless replays of my throws passing right through the bodies of opposing players while I get thrown without being nearly close enough to be thrown in the same round.
Stop giving these guys shortcuts. Force everyone to play!!!

I agree with you wholeheartedly. However, the almighty at Capcom made the decision to create a StreetFighter title where ANYBODY could play and EVERYONE could pick up on easily if they put alittle honest effort in it.
IMO, the lesson here for them is simply: "you reap what you sow..."
The only major problem I have with this game is the stupid inputs. Just give us an option to turn off the easy inputs. I mean, c'mon, Downforward Downforward for a Dragon Punch motion? Even dashing then doing a QCF motion will give you a DP motion and I hate how you don't have to do a full 360 either, just move the stick in random motions real fast and out comes a command grab.
I know they are just trying to ease new players into this game but just give us an option to turn them off.

~Stop playing with a set pattern. Your defense falls apart because your offense is a set of gimmicks. Do moves that you think will work based on how your opponent plays, instead of forcing out the pattern you want to see yourself performing publically. Play on reaction and in the moment.

~First, just no. His air throw is great and his ground throw is fine. I'd guess any of these might be why your guile isnt throwing consistantly.

I am a THawk player. Abel's U2 - meh. Very rarely will he catch me using it as AA. I can easily Dive Hawk over it. I am sure others like Dhalsim, Rufus or anyone that has a mid-air "directional" should not have a problem with it either -including the Shotos (mid-air hurricane kick).

Blanka doesn't need sh1t, if it's something he needs a huge effin nerf. The least thing he needs is buffs to his ultra damage. Why would you want to buff his ultra damage? It's a 100% Hit almost everytime?! You can't miss when you learn the situations for it..
There is a lot of talk about balance changes, but the fact of the matter is that we first need to eliminate all the bugs and abnormalities before we can even think about a re-balance. Seriously, how do you expect Capcom to rebalance a game without fixing errors in the programming?
Also here's an idea, before calling foul on balance, how about we all play the game for a few more months, see how some tournaments play out, and see how match ups develop.
I say after Evo is a nice date to really see how the games balance and match ups are going.
Then MAYBE we can start calling for a rebalance, if it really IS an issues.
1) Why is somebody going on about how Vega needs five things to be fixed of him? I'll agree with you, his Scarlet Terror definitely needs a small boost, but everything else really shouldn't happen. Vega is quick enough-his dash is exceptional-and you can play so that the opponent are just outclassed in every way with him.
2) Sakura is fine at the moment the way she is. She can get in a few ways, and when she does shes a true beast.
3) I don't think Makoto should be fixed yet. I'm sure somebody will find her true potential, and we'll she how completely frightening she is.
4) No, Abel's Breathless should not be nerfed? Why? Because it has plenty of problems. First off, instead of invincibility, it has Super Armour. Almost every character can do something about this. Secondly, it doesn't go full screen, meaning that it is hard to get a good zoning character (especially with the whole Super Armour). Thirdly, it can't be comboed in any truely excellent way that even Soulless can, whereas most other characters have a decent combo to Ultra.
The main problem here is that a fair few of the people on here are just either talking about buffing things that they aren't using properly or asking to nerf characters they have trouble with.
To everyone publicly fantasizing about balance changes for their favorite character(s): the patch under discussion is ALREADY FINISHED. None of this is going to happen.
If notable balance changes ever do happen, which is unlikely, it would be in 2011.
@ #70 - everyone keeps complaining about vega's super activating when he hits the wall. you all need to be consistent with this, if you all complained during SFA3, CvS, CvS2, etc maybe it would have been put back but vega has activated when he got to the wall since like 1998 and you're all just now being vocal about it. its like getting your car stolen and reporting it a year later.

Balrog can do this, even Ryu and Ken can poke their way out of those games. Guile cannot? Why?
There is no reason why I get thrown because my hitbox is extended and I still have a jumping roundhouse kick that passes through sprites constantly sometimes so blatantly my opponents are unsure what to do because they expected to be hit.
Those little quirks annoy me. They make people who are not fighting in the monet and as well as I am seem better than they should be.
I have a hair trigger reaction sense but Im also in the "zone" and being thrown from to far away...my throws passing through peoples bodies along with my attacks and the sheer fact that focus dashing away is the only reasonable escape for guile during tick throw olympics, is shameful.
Even DeeJay has the auto correct "flash kick". I dont. I have to constantly think while my opponents rinse and reuse the same tactics again and again.
That annoys me.
I dont have any gimmicks in my offense. I impose my will on my opponents and crush their every move. I play off of instinct. When things break the "lae" of the nature of the game...my instincts fail.
Capcom can easily fix this. But then again...you scrubs really wouldnt stand a chance against my "Rush Down" Guile.

You have to remember that most of the people complaining here are not very good players. These are some of the people that started playing competitively only last year when SF4 was released, so that pretty much tells you how much their opinions are worth.

I think a majority of the players "bitching" on here have a right to. You may tell them to "get better", but to be perfectly honest... SSF4 learning curve is brutal.
Who in their right minds wants to spend 3-4 hours a day practicing Links just so they can compete online?
I know I didn't like doing it, and that was only for one character (Sakura). Sure, I got to play G1 with her, but only to find out the game had drained me completely.
Street Fighter 2 was golden, I liked playing it because it was simple and anybody could be good.
MvC2 was also pretty easy to learn, we (friends) didn't have any troubles getting combo's off.
Street Fighter 4... really? Linking is so much of a headache I have a brain metastasis sprinkled with astrocytoma.
Fix Linking, and everyone would balance back out. You would see less Ryu's and Ken's. More lower tier coming up to play.
I'm sure all the Pros would love that change, myself included.

Yeah, I knew about his super activation method in SFA3, CvS, and CvS2. I see your point. However, I haven't played those three. I pretty much only played SF2, SF2: CE, SF2T, and SSF2. All on an emulator. I never was able to find a SSF2T or SFA3 rom. I guess when you go from 2 to 4 without playing the ones in between, the change hits you harder. I have HD Remix, so I know what it felt like with invincible startup on Scarlet Terror and safe Rolling Izuna Drop.
I'm thinking they would flash the blue lightning both when you grab for Rolling Izuna Drop, and when you do his super claw strike (3-4 hits). It would look and feel a little different, but it would be better.
I think Capcom didn't put much thought when they were recreating Vega's super in CvS at first. And this is the price Vega pays.
On another note, I didn't know CvS2 not only had the Rolling Izuna Drop, but the super claw strike too. Was SFA3 and CvS like this too? I can't find any youtube videos for proof.

Damn man you complain a lot. Firstly about guiles flash kick auto correcting, it does, its just less noticeable since it is a charge move (down to up).
2ndly , the reason guile cant jab out of tick throws as easily is because everyone isnt the same. i mean would u want everyone to have the same punches and kicks really. That like a ryu player complaining that his recovery is 20times more that guiles for FBs.
Lastly stop complaining guile has a lot of great options he doesnt need to have all the other which other people have, do you see me complaining that makotos command grabs lacks range or one of her many other problems??? no u just need to learn to work around them and use the tools you have.

Super Armor always absorbs one hit. Like a Focus Attack. Any more, and that is pushing it. It would be overpowered. Btw, Ryu's shoryuken has had it's damage nerfed. But his MP and HP Shoryuken has been changed from 1-hit to 2-hit, which allows it to destroy a focus attack's super armor. Is this a hidden buff to Ryu?!
i'm not going to complain about guile's throw situation, by jerseyfame is right. it's just ridiculous how insanely dumb it is to lose on such ridiculous circumstances. i've had my grab go through a player only to be grabbed mid-animation.
then again, if that got fixed, we'd never lose with guile...
It does not look like inputs are going to be fixed, unfortunately. But then, Box/PS3 D-Pad is nothing like a fightstick, and not every console user owns the latter. It's not like I'm complaining, though - whipping out Makoto's Fukiage faster than I could do on D-Pad in 3rd Strike is not totally bad.
Do hope that Karakusa range gets fixed. After all, if someone has f___ed up her grab animation, it is not our problem.

IMO: Leave Ibuki alone! People will probably say Ibuki's life should be nerfed in the update.

I wonder if JerseyFame has ever faced off against a good opponent. He always seems to say his flawless rushdown Guile loses to these little "bugs" capcom puts in just to annoy him. Seriously why doesn't capcom fix these problems for him?
Guile does solid damage through mid level links, has an air throw with much greater range than the only command EX air throw, and to give an example of how nice the sonic boom is lets set up a common situation. E. Honda (dang not common anymore) can beat out a fireball (from shotos) via his standing heavy kick if you see it coming they sometimes trade but it is sooooo worth it. Try doing the same thing to Guile's sonic booms and you will get boomed every single time.

Daigo isnt very good with Guile.
He also doesnt know that spamming jab stops the dive kick traps.
He also failed to air throw to create a knockdown, to create more offenese.
His Guile was very poor. Its just that he plays well enough strategy to be horrible and still win.
Daigos Guile is horrible.
Geom can show you how Guile should be played. Even my Guile is more dynamic.
Daigo played a character he is solid with and stalemated one of the best Rufus players in the world (I can tell the wong haters will fight me on this). But that wasn't impressive because it wasn't dynamic? This guy who always says he is an OG type of player must have hated high level play in Super Turbo especially with O. Sagat. Tension can be exciting too.

get over guile already. He's not the best character. Stop comparing him to other characters. I already told you characters are always limited by what tools they have. Guile was meant to be a good zoner even though you can pull off the "rushdown" that you brag about.
If you like being up in a person's face then pick a character that has better rushdown tools.
Go impose your will on scrubs and stop complaining about your favorite character or pick another.
I'm starting to get the impression that people who are commenting didn't even read the original post. THIS IS NOT A BUFF/NERF UPDATE. It's here to fix bugs and glitches.
1) Right choice here. Not fair to Juri to have a specific tool against only her. Make it universal or not at all; and since infinites are hardly fair in SFF4, smart decision.
2) Obvious glitch that needed to be fixed.
3) No one should be subject to combo-able throws. It's just unfair and broken.
4) She's not getting nerfed, it's a clear glitch. Your meaty attacks would simply pass right through her, not fair at all.
5) Clearly an issue, fix it.
6) A counter hit doing less damage is just ridiculous. Who cares how good the character is or isn't; it needs to be fixed.
7) Again, NOT A BUFF. The move was simply not functioning right. Who cares if it's Sagat? The move is not working properly, fix it.
People need to read before they open their mouths. And in all honesty, who cares what buffs/nerfs people are asking for on here? I doubt seriously that Capcom is browsing Eventhubs comments for advice on how to balance the game. Think before you post.

Guiles fierce kick passing through opponents sprites is intolerable if I can be crossed up and the freeze frame shows that I wasnt actually "touched", its just the hitboxes made contact.
If thats possible then nothing I do as Guile should randomly "pass through" my opponents. Thats very annoying.
Also Im tired of being tick thrown while in block stun, which should be impossible, but I have a number of replays you can watch online that show it happening when I play versus Ryu, Ken and gouken.
Meanwhile when I try to do it as Guile my arms actually pass through my opponent, Guile makes the grunting noise, and I get counter thrown.
I know u inserted these quirks to keep Guile from being "impossible" just find more concrete ways of giving the shotos advantages...dont screw with my timing or my head to help these guys.
to point on something else exept the chars:
What I miss in SSf4 in the selectscreen is to take random and to see that also the other guy takes random - like I did when I fought against my friends in SF4. + I also miss the little smilieicons in the lobby. It had disadvantages perhaps but also big advantages - a far better communication.
So, what a solution would be, is a new option when u configure the Lobbyoptions, like 'friendmode on/off' or so - wich makes it possible to see wich char the opponent takes - so taking 'random' 4 both players is sensefull and funny again - and can lead to looong fightingsessions.
to the randomselectthing: perhaps it would last to see somehow, when ur opponent has already taken random like a little P2-sign on the randomfield.
... although then u still couldnt take a weak char so often and trust on the other player that he also takes a middle or weak char - wich was possible
Im not one to complain much but one thing i think really shouldnt have changed was ryu's shoryuken. The two hits makes the priority really bad. I personally play abel and noticed that when i do a rekka and then ryu blocks it and i go for the rekka grab, if he dragon punches my grab we trade! Its done that consistently.
Nerfing a dragon punches were a bad idea in general i think. I understand you guys were trying to find a way to boost other characters but dragon punches are what make street fighter street fighter. Also that puts ryu and ken at big disadvantages because they have no anti-air.
Nothing else i think is really bad or at least that i have noticed i just think you guys should give them back the invincibility on their shoryuken.

No recovery frames? They have more than that if you bait it. As i said before i think they are at a disadvantage by not being able to anti-air. There is plenty of recovery on a srk once it whiffs. We shouldnt worry about recovery when they can barely get them off now with the exception for Akuma, his is still really good.
I dont think that dragon punches shouldve ever been nerfed thats as i said what makes street fighter street fighter. Take away the trade into ultra yes i agree with that and i dont think they shouldve ever been able to do that however, dont make their dragon punch trade with everything that kinda doesnt make since, so i think they should at least keep their invincibility.

There should be done something about some Airthrows:
Its good to see that there are some differences between a normal standing throw forward and throw backward in damage and stun.
But what i really cant understand is why guiles Air backthrow has exactly the same damage and stund like his forward Airthrow. I mean the Air backthrow was extremely strong in SF2T and the coolest throw in the whole game. It should have either more damage (and the forward Air throw could have 10 points less) or more stun (like 170 for example).
Another Air throw is Hakans. This heavy guy makes just 140 damage. Here also i would give him more stun (also 170 points perhaps) or damage.
