Did you not read that the 360 version is completely sold out?
Maybe the PS3 version bombed, but that makes sense, because really, besides some tournies (and I don't understand why) most players are on the 360

The PlayStation 3 version sold 143,000 copies, outperforming the Xbox 360 edition which moved 108,000 units.

They probably marked it down because it now has to compete with some big up coming titles.
Red Dead and Alan Wake and I'm sure many others.
Let's face it. Fighters aren't huge sellers and if you didn't buy it in the first few weeks chances of someone just walking in and going hey... let me pick that up are pretty slim
Another ten dollar price cut just sweetens the pot for any would be stragglers. Considering there is basically no advertising for the game it will be forgotten about or already unknown to the majority of people on the planet.
