An anonymous reader sent over a bunch more notes about Marvel vs. Capcom 3 to give players a better idea of what to expect from the upcoming game. For older details and some scans, check out this story.
• If you were disappointed that you didn't see certain no-brainer Capcom characters in Tatsunoko vs Capcom for the Wii, don't give up hope. Niitsuma confirmed that big characters like Dante were saved from Tatsunoko for Marvel vs. Capcom 3.
• MvC3's characters were all created from scratch — you won't see recycled character models.
• A sort of cross-over aerial rave can be performed, where you can safely change your character in the middle of an air combo, using the exchange button.
• The flow of combat is just as intense and hectic as MvC2.
• The game is currently using TvC's style Light, Medium, and Hard attacks along with the Exchange button.
• Story mode is being slightly improved, with beginning and ending story bookends, along with in-game events to keep it fresh in players' minds. Producer Ryota Niitsuma insists that though this story is better than in other MvC games, it doesn't steal the spotlight from the action.
• MvC2's cast recycled 15 years of backlog and that's a large reason why it had such a big cast. The Morrigan you saw in 1994's Darkstalkers was basically what you saw in 2000's MvC2.
• Capcom is paying a very large attention to detail to make sure all the characters are very in-character and act like themselves.
• Game Informer raved about the graphics for a good paragraph, apparently lighting is superb and Iron Man's armor has reflections.
• Game Informer seemed very impressed with how Dante was represented in the game. "His cockiness and bravado shines through in every action, doing the white-haired badass justice."
• Backgrounds will be lively. J Jonah Jameson is in a helicopter in the background of the Daily Bugle stage shouting and pointing at the players. There's also a parade in the background that has huge air balloons of characters like Spider-Man and Viewtiful Joe. Servbots and Tron Bonne in the background of the Megaman Legends stage.
TvC-style controls? Hell yeah! I've always like fighters with a simple Light-Medium-Heavy control scheme (with maybe a special button or two).
Unfortunately, this article shows that Capcom really doesn't think of the Wii as a serious console, seeing that it's been saving the best characters for MvC3. If they're using the TvC control scheme, why not have it on the Wii? Why alienate the fighting game audience built with TvC?
It won't matter to me personally, seeing that I have both a PS3 and a Wii, but it would expand the game to a larger audience.
If Gene from God Hand makes it in, or maybe Amatersu would make this perfect. I still don't see what is to complain about the control scheme...it is nearly identical to MvC2...they just made one of the Heavy buttons a dedicated launcher button instead it being a launcher anyway like it was in MvC2.
i dont see why people complain about the set up. we have 4 attack buttons and 2 assist buttons, right? its not going to be 100% radically different, plus the "exchange" button sounds very similar to the "dust" button in GGXX. on the ground its a launcher, in the air it has a special purpose. it probably has a crouching feature to it like dust does as well. the 3 buttons wont simplify it at all, really. command normals out the wazoo guys. its gonna be like the CvS1 days where only people who knew how to play the game could do a c.mk because of the 4 button scheme, and with command normals you dont have scrubs button mashing 15 hit magic series combos like in MvC2.
at the same time, 3 attack buttons, a launcher button, and 2 helper buttons make the game seem less intimidating to learn for a beginner. you only need to learn 3 attack buttons, as one already has a set purpose, and your assist buttons are self explanatory. if you have past experience you can pick it up and play, if you dont you arent sitting there trying to figure out what button does what, realistically this IS more beginner friendly than trying to find your mediums the first time you played MvC2 (unless someone told you before you played it) and leads to "beginner friendly" games.
you might have to re-learn some things, but a vet will still pick it up and get to ass whooping while a newbie will have an easier time learning and wont be as easily discouraged. and this is all from a guy who has yet to touch TvC, i'm just capable of logical thinking, something most fighting game fans cant wrap their brain around.
Thor!!!!! I could see it right now, he would have "enchanted hammer", where thunder strikes down on the opponent. A mjolnir throw, like captain america you could either throw it diagnolly or horizontally. A special with all his fellow asgardians. There is also a great story to be told about the god of thunder.
I'm just hoping for a completely-made-from-scratch War Machine that acts entirely different from his Iron Man counterpart and finally utilizes it's own weapons rather than just missles instead of beams.
Oh and Megaman X
I hope that the spiderman background means that he is in the game and is not just making u for him not being in the game.
Wow that would crush me if he is not in the game.
"There is also a great story to be told about the god of thunder."
all the more reason i think capcom should look into those 1970s "MARVEL COMICS PRESENTS KISS" comics. use their personality and powers from the comics rather than their real names, i know its marvel vs capcom but the two marvel characters fighting over who is the god of thunder would be epic if you ask me, and for a capcom counterpart he could fight dante. not to mention beast (cat man's personality in some versions of the comics, completely ripped, super strength, speed) vs blanka, star child (telekinetic powers) vs donovan, space man vs pyron (not from earth/this world)...
hey, a man can dream.
"Capcom's catgirl returns with her claws out to deliver quick and nimble combos to anyone distracted by her jiggle physics for too long."
Ahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
inb4 teams comprised up of Dante, Deadpool, and " ".
Aw man, too late.

After reading this I'm positive now that Phoenix Wright is going to be in.
If they don't include Okami in the game as a playable character, I will put anthrax in Capcom's sushi rolls.
Unless Capcom has big plans for Gene from GodHand or any character from the past, you probably won't see them. MvC3 character choices seems to be based more on the future. i.e. Deadpool with the movie coming out and Morrigan/Chris/Dante with the next (rumored) sequel coming out.
I want the Juggernaut from Marvel the most.
Phoenix Wright would be cool, but I'd understand if he isn't in the game.
TVC is really bad example since about none from the Tatsunoko side have plans for a comeback. Capcom stucked with mostly old characters for their roster too. Exception being PTX and Frank, both of which were for special reasons. Again, TvC is not a good example for MvC3.
Marvel obviously wants it's roster to reflect it's future plans, Capcom might just follow suit.
Pheonix Wright would be a counter based character. When he is hit in his counter stance, he would cry out "Objection" and the enemy would suffer instead. His specials would have people coming out to help him, Dick would ram people, Miles would shot a gun and Franzeska would whip people. For his defensive moves, he calls out friends to be by his side, Maya can help hit the enemy, Meggy Byrd would cause misfortune on the enemy and Harry Butz would cause misfortune to Pheonix instead. His super would include a giant Judge banging the enemy with his gavel and a grab super where he put the enemy at the stand and start talking and talking and talking until the enemy froth in their mouth and fall unconcious from exhaustion.
@6 "I am waiting for the Capcom fanboys to get their panties in a knot and comment their hate for the game on Eventhubs.
Won't be long now..."
Don't know about that, I think this game looks interesting.
Never did understand the "I like game x so I'll flame people who like game y" thing.
@Clovr4lyf
"Marvel is run by Disney now...so...." they'll leave them alone if they want to keep making money! cause if they start making causal or child friendly stuff people will stop buying their stuff
off that
anyway
GREEN SCAR!(Hulk's pissed off personality)
And
Notice how it said for cap that he'll keep most of his moveset, meaning we could see Bucky Barnes Cap

I hope this means that Frank West wont be like he was in TvC and will be more like his actual game counter part. No more "oh my gosh!" please >_<.
Also being as Phoenix Wright was dropped from TvC, I hope hes in this game :D.
First off, this is what I'm thinking about all of this.
First off. It seems they're only really using a lot of POPULAR characters for Marvel vs Capcom 3. People rather use a character they know versus a character they don't really give a crap about. This is because we want to see our favorites, and our favorites are often the ones they're marketing like crazy.
Tatsunoko vs Capcom recycled a lot of people they weren't planning to use because they don't take Wii as a serious game console. Why? Let me tell you. They said to date, 250,000 copies of TvC have been sold. Well, SSFIV shipped with ONE MILLION copies. SFIV sold 2 MILLION copies. Even MvC 2 on XBL and PSN sold a lot more than TvC. Also, why waste the time to put it on Wii when you got bigger consoles?
I think Capcom will do this right. Just wait to play the game before you judge it. I mean, seriously, they know what they are doing and they aren't going to give us a bad game. TvC had simple control schemes but was still a bad ass game, was it not? And good players still crushed noobs, right? Trust in Capcom. Street Fighter IV was simplified from Third Strike, but still retains it's depths and pros still own.
Now, for who I want in.
CAPCOM

I own tvc greate lookin game fun characters but for me it's unplayabel cuz u go to uppercut and u swip how is that a good thing for mvc3 it's not and at the end the day this mvc3 not tvc2 we been playin this for 10 yrs the same way why change it it's not broken
This is a post taken from another site that could POSSIBLY resolve the whole Tron Bonne not being in this game:
"Maybe, maybe not. As you see, MvC3 might pay a bit of homage to the original versus games like XMvSF and MvC where characters had their own stages (like Spiderman's stage) where he was in the background if he wasnt playing in a match, but if he was on a team he wouldnt be there. Who knows."
@#57
People have been playing a broken game for 10 years. So, you should rephrase what you said. If it is broken, why fix it?
Heh.
Come on guys, from a marketing point of view Marvel has to get certain characters into the game. If you have a movie?/franchise then you are probably going to be in this game.
Wolverine.
Spider-man
Thor.
Captain America
The Hulk
Iron Man
The real question is if Marvel will let Blade come out and play.
Please give me Gene from god Hand, Captian Commando, Jin, Strider, Alex from st3 and from MArvel Punisher, Thor, Magneto,Daredevil then this game will be perfect
For the guys wanting Mega Man X, go to this link directly to Capcom and continue to make request for him. The more request, the better chance Capcom will notice it.
I'd really like to see Gene from Godhand, but I'm not sure if the game was popular enough to warrant his inclusion.
