didn't feel rufus utlra at all. it's a "better" counter ultra, since u cant combo into it, but u'll punish other when they whiff or jump in, instead of forced to attacking.

Dee Jay, in order to land all of U2, has to use EX MGU and it has to be in the corner. You can try it out of the corner, but it either whiffs completely or you don't get the full thing, not sure which. Either way, it wont be that easy.
Anyone notice that Dee Jay did a 10 hit combo that used at least one EX move and did ~240 dmg then dudley did a 3 hit combo and did ~220? lol... damage scaling is going to hurt Dee Jay.. badly. Super Dudley fighter 4 here we come!
Makoto "insane" damage as you call it takes a super and full ultra bar including a proceeding combo ,this could be done with half a super bar by sagat in sf4 not to mention zangief and akuma's ultras are 600 by themselves.
I have a feeling makoto is going to be no better than 10th place in this game ,her only combo ultra is one of the weakest in the game ,it only looks good with super....It's too situational considering she's not a fireball character thus her ability to gain meter per round is not possible.
Actually, I withdraw my concerns on Dee Jay's damage output, as i just realized that Seth's health was low therefore DJ's damage was heavily scaled as is, not to mention its a 10 hit combo with 2 jabs. So I shall withhold my judgement until we get a better understanding!

juri custom combo was short and disapointing damage...

juris custom combo is good. I dont know why people are complaining. Every combo did almost 300 dmg, the one at the end did almost 400 and she and her meter for the cc drains slow. Plus these are really every combos, wait until a month after release and i bet all u people will be saying its op'd.
In all honesty i bet by the next iteration there gonna bring back ism's like alpha 3 and give everyone a choice of haveing a custom combo. Juri is prob the "test" to see if it could work out.

Uhh, yeah.. I know. I never said it was. Just said the characters name as a means to indicate which character i was talking about. But the fact remains that when your opponents health is low, you deal less damage. I don't feel like watching the video again, but it was like reduced by about 4-6% since Seth's(or any character's) health was low. Therefore, less damage. That, plus the fact that it was a 10 hitter with 2 jobs in it means scaling is going to be even worse that it would be at full health.
i really wish capcom would make the Custom combo thing juri has as part of the game, and every character has it.
or maybe adopt tvc baroque system :)

@MANDINGO #15: You're comparing SFIV ultra damage to SSFIV ultra damage. Even the "hard hitting" ultras rarely do above 500 damage in SSFIV, as most damage was reduced across the board, and especially in ultras. You also have a few seconds of super left after the ultra, and a good Makoto could easily hit an extra combo with that time. Her ultra is also easy to set up compared to those other ones you mentioned, because all you have to do is land one command grab and you can go right into ultra.

On the subject of the ultra Damage. I personally don't like it. Mainly because ultra's are in most cases, a characters big come back move and taking away damage takes away that home run hit some characters need. On the other hand I understand why they did it, because someone like Sagat can hit that home run anytime he's up to the plate, if that make scene to any of you.
It looks like most of their tweaks just moved the existing characters into the roles they were intended to fill. Zangief is more centered around grapples now, they slightly improved Chun's footsie game (which was already great), and reduced shotos' abilities for huge damage combos.

I hope NOT. True that custom combos give you many possibilities (and I personally exploited them hard in alphas), but they don't look as cool as supers/ultras and you can't enjoy watching them as you perform them (you gotta focus on not messing up, lol!)
Imo the whole system with x-ism, v-ism, and a-ism was bit too weird, confusing for starters, and the gains weren't worth it.
so ken can fadc str8 from his hadouken into his new ultra ?
wow.. no more "damn need to counter to get full ultra* for ken.. well, its good and bad because its alot harder to react on an haduken then it is on the second hit of a shoryuken.. plus shory is good on wake^ so then doing the ultra one after would always work.. now u are forced to combo to do ultra 2 but u are rewarded with a full ultra instead of just half of one... unless of course you can react fast enough to cancel the haduken after u hit confirm... well come to think of it you can do it on random.. if its blocked do a grab if its not blocked then continue with the ultra... but then again, a haduken from close is about as safe as standing still and NOT blocking..well well see how it goes
ohhhh.. so thats why they up'ed the speed of his haduken... so that its easier to ultra into... sorry im slow
didn't they first say that KEN has to do an EX-Fireball inorder to FADC into U2? in the clip, it looks like a regular Fireball.

Ooh, I was wondering if DeeJay would be able to combo his machine gun upper into ultra 2. Seems like an awfully easy way to combo into it, too. That'll be fun.
