Super Street Fighter 4 combo exhibition w/ damage totals

MrSoltography uploaded this video from JeuxVideo.tv showing various combos in Super Street Fighter 4 with the attack data turned on in training mode so you can see the damage totals.

Some of the combos are performed the characters nearly out of life, so damage scaling is factored into the power taken off.

Dudley is the new Sagat!!! I am really upset with characters like Dudley and Ibuki, being a bit too strong. Don't get me wrong, no one has thoroughly played the game to see the tiers and I acknowledge that. It is just my prediction that Dudley will be top-tier. Now I can't main him anymore :(

I'm so using Makoto just like in SF3. She can combo after her Ultra just like the good old days. Plus she still hits like a tank.

ssf4 will be more aggressive since the damage you'll recive if you whiff an attack isnt that dangerous anymore. at the same time, since the dmg output is way lower than know, the time you need to kill an opponent will increase aswell.

most of the ultra combo setup damaged around 300-400. and this from full ultra / super involved.

seems nice.

it might be more aggressive, but what about wake-up srks and ultras... so annoying you cant be overly aggressive like in HDR

Abare Tosanami is still amonster, hopefully you can combo it somehow though. It being only for an anti projectile would make me sad.

I will allow it because lets be real if gouken charges that sh!t all the way up and hits you with it you deserve it.On the other.Looks like a lot of the ultra damage is tone down might help with the balence a little.

yeah i kno, but i might not main him if thats the case because everyone might whore him and well...thats no fun. I did main him in 3S and he was a rushdown king. hopefully, he is anything but top tier.

i must humbly disagree, like a gentleman. his juggles are great but i think they are overpowered in SSF4. just my opinion

i hate damage scaling... i guess in tourneys will see the same boring combos over and over

come on capcom reward combos for god sakes, or at least make focus attack fill meter too, so people use the more often

@25--Dont worry, hes not easy to use like ryu and sagat so that will deter the scrubs. I never played third strike but i always like challenging myself and trying to main new characters.

Chun li's U2 did what? 5-10 damage at full bar after the combo set-up? Ridiculous. Dan, Sagat, Ryu and Gouken all get fireball ultras that at least do close if not more than 400 damage and Chun gets stuck at 300?! What gives?

Read the article hear about how damage scaling works in SFIV, and watch the video again. There are so many hits in the combo that by the time the ultra hits, it does 20% of its damage.

It's nice to see comboed Ultra damage scaled back a bit.

And to all you people talking about tier lists, please just go away. You really show your scrubbyness when you open your mouths like you know what you're talking about. You can't possibly have any idea what the tier list is going to look like or who is going to be on top, so stop going on like you do. At least keep your pants on long enough for the game to actually release.

its nice to see more characters can fadc into there ultra. The prob with that is the fadc system forgot about charge characters. It really sucks that they cant take advantage of the system, and no fadcing a scissor kick or a flash kick really isnt worth half ex stock.

Makoto looks a lot more impressive in this video than Dudley so I'm not sure why people would consider Dudley top tier.

Also why do you care if Dudley is top tier or not if that you want to play with him. Unless you want to prove something by winning with a lower tier character (not saying what) but then it doesn't matter if you are playing Dudley or not since the tier list is all that matters. Figure out why you are playing SF in the first place and maybe you'll enjoy it more. Just saying.

Makoto looks more impressive because her combos do big damage. But for Ultra 1 she requires full super and ultra, and Ultra 2 is not shown being comboed into.
Meanwhile, Dudley seems to have a few options to combo into ultra with just one EX move. That versatility is a big advantage.

For those who think the scrubs will flock to Dudley, have no fear! for you must remember, that Dudley does not have a fireball. Therefore the scrubs will shy away.

I wish they would incorporate more of this "wall bounce" mechanic, as I can't think of how several characters can make use of it.

I would definately welcome all the Dudley-Users online. I cant stand those damn zoners (Ryu, Sagat), so if i get beaten by a good Dudley who rushes down and actually does combos up close and personal, i wouldn't be so angered.
I am a rushdown-type myself, so there is nothing more exciting than two characters beating the hell out of each other (and not sitting in the corner and shooting fire from their hands while shouting "Tiger! Tiger!" ;) )

I too have a feeling all the Kens are gonna run to Dudley for at least the first month, especially upon seeing his Jet Uppercut.

But they'll lose their dignity when they discover it takes more than mashing HP and rotating the joystick to emulate these combos...can't wait to main Makoto-I've been going back to 3S and practicing the stuff that's been posted lately. ;-)

My god, Makoto is a beast. Love the fact that Dan can fadc into his Ultra. Would love to see Diago use him. Plus, Gouken's Denjin would be frickin awesome if he could finish the wall bounce with an EX Tatsumak.

If I saw that set-up correctly, it was target combo>cr.+lk,cr.+lk,Ex Legs>Ex Legs>Ultra....I guess Chun would have to settle for just one set of Ex Legs into Ultra. At least with Kikosho, she'll get the chance to use her ultra in every match using any of her combo options as Kikosho is hit-confirmable everytime.

Im going to use ultra 2 for makoto for anti projectile just in case I can't get in and if the person throws a fire ball can catch them and u can follow up and its still does about 500 damage I think makoto is the deadliest in this game I love her and I probably use ultra 1 sometimes cuz I been practicing saving up ex bars so I always have super.. I practice saving up cuz it helps when I use guile I can always have a deadly combo super to ultra 1 and 2 now and makoto for ultra 1 so it works out on the good side and u to inform people I don't turtle with guile im pure rush down with him so just imagine what I can do with makoto
