Nice! they look of a better quality than the previous ones. I'll watch 'em when I own the game. Can't wait!
I'm not going to look at any of these until I'm watching them in the game itself, but I love that in the preview, Dudley appears to be open an envelope with his boxing gloves XD
im a bit dissapointed with the slide shows i liked the anime style of sf4 this is no where near as good. mind you people bitched about that so they will bitch about this so why bother if your capcom....
animated one r better.... i have a question... does dudley do everything with his gloves on? spank the monkey? wipe his ass? just a thought... lol
I'm not going to complain the intros do there job of getting you excited for whats to come & they look good. But would anyone really be happy for cutscenes that they'll watch just once & really it would have made the game come out much later then it already is can't wait.
i think that they would look alot better fully animated like in SF4 than like this
They should be animated! C'mon, I was really looking forward to that...I was hoping GONZO was working on the intros, too. Dammit.
The drawings look great, but does anyone else ever get annoyed at how Street Fighter characters ALWAYS have to be wearing their fight costume in anime stories?
Example: We all loves Dudley's blue boxing gloves and we'll see him in the matches--but would he really wear them while he's drinking his tea?
Cant believe the amount of pissing and moaning already.
We knew the animation comes from Afro Samurai. 50% of the cartoon is actually stills for christ sake.
Personally I like it. The drawings are so much more detailed and the japenese voicing is epic. To make it animated would more than likely delay the game and that, none of us want.
Think people are forgetting that we are also getting a new Juri animated movie as well.
As someone just said, Arcade will be the least played mode compared to online.
I prefer well-drawn slideshows over half-assed and poor animation done in SF4.
My original wish was to have that inky art style for slideshow intros. Would've been hella stylish compared to this generic anime style they went with. Don't want to sound like an anime hater, it's just that overall the design of the game is very "un-anime" so why have anime-style cutscenes? Looks plain dumb.
These are fine anyhow.. at least compared to the vanilla.
I like the quality of this intros, but I prefer something like SF4, not the sh*tty quality, but animated intros...Why not good quality animated intros? :/ I think it's doesn't too dificult, they're only 1 minute long...
I'm not dissapointed at all, but...
I'd rather not have the animation and not a slideshow, but either one is fine with me,
why coulnd't capcom just use CG? instead of still frames? i think CGs would transition better with the game.
they have to cut cost. Animation is costly. That's why its this way.
-----------------------------------
you guys are cold. Ibuki not a high school slut. She just likes cute dudes lol. She never said anything about f**king multiple dudes. Anyway yeah the intro's are fine but I have to admit...the only person who seems to have a plausable reason for being at this tournament is T.hawk and Dudley. Everyone else just seems to happen to be there XD
To all the people complaining about them just being slide shows, I'm not sure if you noticed that anime is usually animated at about 2 fps at best anyway. And those 2 fps are usually used just for the mouth when they are speaking, the rest of the scene is completely still.
pretty cheap and lazy for capcom to do this...
I'm a huge manga fan, so I can deal with still images...but even then there are only like 3 or 4 slides for each character...doesn't really paint a picture...
but whatever...I'm not gonna spend too much time in arcade mode anyway...
REAL STEP BACK. I hated this style. The SF4 intros were better.
A few questions?
-How long has Cody been in Jail?
-So Dudley's car was already stolen?
-The guy hakan beat up. Is that one of Birdie's boys??
-That Julia chick in T.Hawks intro-Is that Juli the clone?
Makoto's intro makes sense.
BUT
The 3rd strike char intros show that SSF4 takes place soon before SF3.
I dont mind the still images too much. People complained about SF4 and people are complaining about this already. i cant blame Capcom.
Jeez. And I thought the animated intros for SFIV were half-assed. This is a huge step down.
the japanese voices only work with the characters from japan.
I like this style. It's elegant and not over the top. It's functional and gets the point across. Keep in mind that they had a year to do this and more for 35 characters...
Tekken 6 gave us like 2 pictures and no voice-over and we all know how long they had...
These intro cutscenes are very nice. I wonder what will the returning characters have as their backstories for SSF4.
I'm pretty sure they said they would have all new animated intros.
Considering these are static screens this is pretty ridiculous.
It's clearly a cost cutting measure and I understand why they did that... but saying one thing and doing the other is awful.
id much rather see the in game renderings doing the intros than this. it just feel cheap.
I just have to say something because it seems that majority on here complains for every trivial thing.
In retrospect, every street fighter gave ever made with the exception of Street Fighter IV for the consoles had still endings, not animated. From a business perspective, if Capcom were to have every character with animated prologues and ending then there is no way game would have cost $40USD - it would have cost the regular selling price at $60 due to the inflated budget.
There is nothing wrong with the animated still endings, as far as I am concerned they are much better and the average SF is more concern with the actual game play itself rather than the endings for each character.
For those who blame characters for wearing their fighting outfit - they are STREET fighters. So everyone has to be always ready to meet opponent and battle right at the moment. What poor Dudley will do if some crazy weirdo will aproach him when he is drinking his tea? Say "Please, wait a minute, sir, i have to put on my gloves"?
I like the pictures they drew for the intros. Gives it a real comic book feel, especially if I'm right and the artists are from Udon. It also makes it look like Tatsunoko vs Capcom with three epicly drawn images and great voice acting. I have no complaints here.
@D_Lemon
That's a stupid thing to complain about....it's their trademark...
I haven't watched these intro sequences yet because I am at work, however...
I actually don't mind that they are just still images presented in a more artistic way. I liked it in vanilla SF4, and I personally found the animated FMVs in Console SF4 to be absolutely dreadful. They made me cringe at how bad the lip-syncing was, even with the Japanese voices turned on. A good example is ANYTHING Vega/Bison/Dictator said during his Ending. Then there were times when characters did not look like their game-counterparts. El Fuerte looked like a typical "roided up" super muscled guy, when in the game he's just slim and ripped in a Rey Mysterio sorta way.
Then there were multiple characters that just looked stupid in their anime-counterparts, like Gouki, Zangief, Ken, Ryu, and Chun Li.
So all in all, I really like these intros for Super Street Fighter 4.
I watched like the first 10 seconds of them and they all look great, but I personally agree with some others here in choosing not to watch the videos so that I can save it for when I'm actually playing the game.
I like these new scenes. Good art with good voice acting, and we understand their reason to fight. While standard IV's had good enough voice acting, their lines were fairly short and usually rushed, due to how little real (spotty) animation there actually was.
Even though there's a lot less going on in the visuals this time around, they hold a lot more atmosphere with them, especially Adon's and Dudley's. My only problem is characters like Cody and Guy have scenes with meaningful depth and length, but Makoto's entire scene is short and fairly pointless.
i could have sworn they said they are gonna make up for the crap quality in sf4 anime... looks like the lied
but then again.. the game is 20 bucks cheaper!
Damn, some of you will bitch about anything if given the opportunity.
These intros are fine. They're much higher quality than the original ones, there is no doubt about that. Just because they're not fully animated doesn't mean they're bad, or that Capcom "lied" or whatever else you wanna say.
#1 was what? 3 still images with talking. Pretty bad, now I don't care to see the rest.
I can already predict the dialogue for the remaining character's intros
chunli, cammy, guile: rawr rawr kill bison
Ryu: rawr rawr new challange lol
Ken: rawr rawr ryu goes there so i go to im buttbuddys
Sagat: i want revenge ryu rawr rawr
Bison, seth: take over the world rawr
Balrog: fight money uuuaaaaaahuaaaaaah
Vega: im so beautiful rawr gonna help shadaloo to stay rawr
sakura: find ryu again rawr
Akuma: fight sum1 to prove im strongest rawr
Most interesting point in all of these...... Dudley.
His car is taken by Gill yes? And here he says it is still missing..... So Gill is already in existence? And thus so is Urien? This is why I pay more attention to the game than the story.
Street Fighter is like Lost with so many questions and so few answers.
still love em both.
wow capcom got mad lazy I think we can all agree on that. The first SF4 had way better animation
I'd rather have nice looking still images than the ugly, undetailed animation of 4. I think they all look great and the remixed tunes sound excellent.
Still, it's pretty low of Capcom to lead us to believe hours of top quality animation was put into the game when it clearly wasn't. The still frames don't bother me, the lack of respect does.
does that means urien is alive? and he could be in the next street fighter 4 ? !!!!!
I dont really like how it is a slide show like the arcade version of the endings but the artwork is indeed better.
Some cool notes I got from them though. The themes in them were great, especially Adon's. T. Hawk looks giant compared to Juli lol. Ibuki enters the tournament for hormonal reasons.
But the best was Dudley's reference to SF3, where he enters the tournament to find his car that Gill stole. Remember kids, SF3 takes place after SSFIV.
Also, Adon always seem to be confused. Does Adon not remember his ass being kicked by Ryu as well in SF1? He was knocked out by one single basic shoryuken, while Sagat was winning until Ryu tapped into his dark powers....btw, most SF characters are stereotypes of some kind...what is Adon? He has a silly high pitched voice, is a kick boxer from Thailand and his theme is American wailing guitar solos...it is a question for ages yes?
1.) Ibuki wants to join the tournament so she can meet virile, well-endowed men who can repeatedly pound her pooch. What a little slut LOL.
2.) Like the oblique reference to Dudley's missing Jaguar that Gill stole.
3.) Adon must have selective memory like machineking1313 stated. Blaming Sagat for his own personal grief may be a coping mechanism of his.
4.)LOL at CharlieNash's post.
5.)Yeah, these slideshows suck. Whatever. I just want to play SSFIV now.
For all those biatching about the intros, honestly who the in world cares. Stop Crying like little girls about every little thing. It's a fighter game who cares about the story honestly. We buy SSF4 for the fight not the story and if you don't get that then you must not get the game. I swear you guys want every little thing in the game, shortcut options, more costumes and stages, better intros ,time trials and survival modes, more balancing issues. All these people complaining about these things are all garbage players and Capcom has done enough for you so you can enjoy the game, like adding shortcuts, spammable uppercuts in block strings, auto block and so on just for all those casual players. If you don't know how to get pass Sagat, Ryu fireball traps, turtle style players then don't play it's that easy and stop dropping to all those loser scrubs.
I can't believe it was so boring- I prefer the cinematix style from SF4.
Anyways, gameplay is more important- too bad they removed the Survival and Time Challenges.
#123 is right
Yeah ONOsan did say about Gonzo and such, but personally I dont care about the intros in SSF4. And mind you guys I love anime.Stop nagging guys this game is a big ass project from capcom give those people some respect.
But look at the bright side.. The remixed theme songs of the returning characters are AWSM!
My Favs.
All except HAKAN's
Also the YURI theme fits perfectly for that cocky ass sadistic taekwondo b**ch :)
they always did this for the intro/outro videos for all the other games before IV. i prefer these high quality stills over the crappy quality fully animated ones from vanilla IV.
I agree they could have put more time and effort into it, but really its a fighting game its the fighting that matters not the minute and a half long intro and outro to the arcade mode. Really i couldnt care less if they didnt put effort into it.
Yeah who cares about the story....
Now play the cutsence again....listen to the BGM .....common litsen.:)
This is pretty garbage because even though SF2 had just ending cinema's they were ending cinema's. As in they actually moved, I'd have been move receptive to that than the slideshows. But at least Capcom focused on the dialog and story much harder this time resulting in story that actually makes sense.
But my biggest problem comes from Dudley and Balrog... why is it that they HAVE to have their gloves on at all times??? This makes no sense and is downright ignorant.
@ at all the "boxer wears gloves while doin this and that"
its just humor on capcom's part lol
@115- Adon has always blamed sagat for everything. Even when he got knocked out by a single shoryuken from ryu in SF1, for some twisted reaon he blamed sagat cos he believed that when ryu defeated sagat with the metsu srk, he shamed the muay thai art cos sagat was regarded as the "king of muay thai" back then and for the king to suffer defeat like that would not have gone down too well with muay thai practitioners.
that BLASTED car! Oh Dudley so terribley British lol
i guess they offically retcon sf3. o well not like it mattered anyway.
Not enough commercials. You only have as much commercial content as you have intro video, and only in front of the actual video. You need at least 5 minutes of commercials in front and 5 minutes in the back. That's OK, we'll all watch them since it's Super Street Fighter 4!
Oh, player performance is too good. I get maybe 10 fps. You may want to look into that.
It may not be animated, but the quality is a little better because of it.
Also, gotta admit, I can't read the f_cking subs for sh_t. Anyone else?
no1 play the game for the intro's but i can't call this high quality in any sort of way. These are boring intro's.
uncharted 2 is a nice example of how i would have like to have seen the intro's nothing over the top but it has a nice vibe. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HN918f...
all in sf4 style offcourse with that inky (focus attack) goodness.
holy fvcking hell...the individual theme music gets me so pumped!!! Makoto's and Dudley's theme have always been my favorite! Almost all, wait, no, ALL of 3rd Strike's music is amazing!
Probably unlikely, but it would be badass to have Akuma's 3rdStrike theme in SSF4 instead of his SSF2T.
thank you eventhubs for finding this! :) man im really loving the bgm from these videos there just really awesome remixes :)
Epic
