Minor notes about Super Street Fighter 4's audio from GameLatest

GamesLatest.com has posted the most recent preview of Super Street Fighter 4 that contains a bit of new information.

Although almost the entire article recaps stuff you've likely heard else where, there's a few small bits of somewhat interesting information, like this.

Audio changes

In addition to new moves, all of the original cast members now have new dialogue lines. These can also be chosen during the character selection screen in case you’re all sick of hearing Ryu explaining where ‘The Answer Lies’. And for all you haters, they took out the ‘Indestructible’ song from the menus, although I must begrudgingly accept that the new menu music is pretty decent. However, I seriously don’t understand why people didn’t like that song. Also, you “purists” can now change the audio to Japanese voice overs for cutscenes as well as in-game quotes.

I've heard bits and pieces of the new background music, I think from the menus and stuff.

Sounds very CPS2-esque in some parts.

I did love that song to death the moment i heard it. It built and kept hype.

But Haters gonna hate.

I did not think they would actualy add a different dialogue line for the original cast. that is freakin sweet. Its no longer super dynamic cooking time.

I'm actually going to miss Indestructible. Well, the Japanese version that is. because the English one was really bad. As long as you cant understand what they were saying it was quite a good song.

Seriously, the problem with the announcer in SFIV is not his voice (which is quite good, in fact), it's that he talks WAY TOO MUCH. Way too long lines (particularly on the character select screen), way too often. For Super, apparently they kept the same lines, the same frequency, and replaced the only good thing about him with a Idiocracy-ized parody of himself. Ugh.

If I remember correctly, turning off the music, the theme song, and even some of the voices is all an option in SF4.

Seems like a lotta b!tching in here about something for nothing.

So characters have multiple intro quotes now? Neat, I wonder how many. Some of the originals I'm fine with, some of them are just plain annoying. Maybe Dudley will get "let's fight like gentlemen."

Seriously, Indestructible's theme was SOOO repetitive and whenever I heard that whiny guy sing, I had to put in my earphones or change the music myself for my PS3 to the Third Strike music, thank GOD for music selection in SFIV.

I thought it would sound better in japanese (just like everything else...) but he sounded like a japanese Usher! I couldn't stand it.

Fail song is fail.

I hope all characters in the game have their own theme (like Balrog, Fei Long,...). Indestructible doesn't suit Street Fighter, I agree. It's like asking Miley Cyrus to sing the next theme of Tekken, that's just...wrong.
Some voices r better in english, some in japanese.
New dialogue lines are a cool bonus.

I think everyone agree the english version was humorous at best. (And really bad normally.) The japanese one was always fun, especially when I made it to the end of one of the challenges, and it started playing. I'd forget I was playing a video game.

"TAKE THIS!!!!!FFFFFFfFFFwdwqq" Then I'd do the tornado throw motion.

Indestructible was asssss!! And the Japanese version is probably worse. But no matter how bad it was, I did catch myself occasionally humming it to myself.

Yeah, I do concur that the English voiceovers were weaksauce, but some of the Japanese voice acting has much to be desired as well.

Oh, and most of us sane people loathe the "Indestructible" anthem because it sounded like a gay fukin rendition of Backstreet Boys. Anyone trying to defend that sh!tty song, it speaks volume of your character traits (and your taste in music or lack thereof).
