Dude Adon gave Sagat everything he could handle and then some, the rumor that he was under powered seems a bit true. Although it was pretty wicked the way he set up his ultra just like Sagat can.

And was anyone else confused by the fact that Blanka's Ultra on the last match wiffed even though it should have been a counter to the upper cut?? Unless it only hits when he pounds the ground and if that's so then that really sucks. Makes for a crappy punish

1. The game looks faster
2. The new stage music is great
3. Although the Gen and Guile players seem decent, I don't think they really knew the characters well
4. Great counter ultra by Fei Long. That's how it is supposed to be. Predicting your foe's next move, then using the move when you think it's necessary

I would love to believe the game is more agressive but i doubt it. The vega honda match at the end looked like normal sf4 matchs with them stareing at each other. but only time will tell. Tbh most of the new characters like more rush down oriented but we'll see.
hmmm so rose's ultra mostly means to interrupt your opponents actions... can be use either as pressuring or for defense imo...

so to wrap it up.. i will b playing cody, guy, dj, dudley, blanka, ibuki.. basically all the new characters. cause they all look like they r going to leap over the old ones... who knows?

really digging the new music and stages. anyone notice dudley's damage and speed? i forsee gutter trash on the horizon. i'm actually a sound designer and loved third strike, whoever cast the voice for him is an idiot. such an important part to the character. i can bitch bitch bitch, but come on ssf4 audio director. but, i will still be playing the crap out of him! just thankful he's in the game.
What I could see about Gen:
Mantis:
* New jump sucks
* MP seems faster. I'm guessing it will keep the same frame advantage as before, just reduce the incredibly ridiculous recovery/stun time. Which is a good thing, since it's generally easier to memorize link timing when there aren't any exceptionally long pauses, but old players will have to get used to that.
Crane:
* cr.HK felt slightly faster. Hopefully it will be safe on hit now.
* HK, cr.MP also seem slightly faster.
* Oga ceiling is worlds faster, but I didn't really notice any change for wall moves.
* Holy crap that overhead (MP) is fast. Shouldn't be stuffed by random crouching jabs anymore.
Crane overall seems a lot more useful. Maybe when Seth said Gen would get a new play style he mean being able to actually use the crane stance?
Man Dudley is looking really strong in this version guys.Man can't wait to try out guy, and as for Guile bye the looks of it i think Deejay in this build is stronger.So i feel a lot of Guile players will which to him hell hes looks so cool i be him but i am really likeing Guy.My final word is Dudley looking high tier for sure know the fact that u can mix up block sting with that cross counter is kind of scary if you know what i mean the guys got mad options.

Dude, guile and deejay wont be interchangable like ryu and ken. Guile and deejay play very differently. Its like compareing honda and blanka. They have VERY similar moves and chances are if u play one u can play the other to a certain extent but they have very distinct play styles. The only thing they have in common is the projectiles, that it. Up kicks wont work like flash kick and deejays normals(assumeing there the same as turbo) work totally different. Deejay is NOT a better black verison of guile, so please stop making those assumptions.
guile and deejay are quite different. One special move in common, wow big deal. Different normals, different speeds, very different style, different everything else
i gave deejay another spin at ssf2 turbo and i found the hundreds of hours ive spent on Guile didnt really get me any special headstart or advantage with him
now if u master ryu, for example, u do pick up faster on ken so ur skills do mostly translate. if u spend a long time and master ryu and NEVER have touched ken, u can still pick up ken and do decent and u prollly get a headstart with sagat too.

man it looks like Adon is gonna be devasting..seems like his jaguar kick is a lot safer on block than it was....his jaguar tooth's speed is ridiculous and i love how he can link his second ultra.....awesome how fast his jaguar kick is though and covers more range....took me awhile to stop watching the first vid b/c of how exciting it is....
The game isn't faster but the pace of the fights seems much quicker, and this I like a lot. I use the focus quite a bit so I'm pleased it has been sped up and the new ultras look awesome when used in actual play by good players.
I think this is gonna turn out to be a much better game than SFIV and well worth the update. I just hope all the fools that said they wouldn't dare buy it still don't.

From looking at the comments on this page alone you can see that people can and should never judge how good/bad a character is till you buy the game. I'm seeing comments saying sagat hS been nerfed but also i'm seeing comments saying he's still op

@ Kouen74, umm ever heard of Ryu? When he does his moves in English guess what language that is? Oh SCHNAPP!! JAPERNESE!!! lols, game seems to be ever so slightly faster. Which I like, Akuma still has his combos, and Ibuki should have won. What confuses me still are the properties of certain moves. From what we've been told Cody's rock beats fireballs. A ... rock? Seriously, then why doesn't Ibuki's kunai beat them? Hrmm... Also am I still the only one who doesn't get Ryu's metsu SRK? It gave Sagat the scar on his chest (btw why didn't they do the god scar thing with him or did I miss it), yet he never once touches their chest. I'm never getting hit with that thing. Looks too stupid to me. Akuma can cancel out of his teleport which makes it harder to pressure him since he can get back at you for trying to punish, but you could always duck. Not really digging Guy's flip throw, looks like it grabs you if you jump or stand there. Probably low priority. Looking forward to trying out Adon. If Sagat still has his old combo to ultra working in full, then who is going to use his new one?
I'm not referencing anything being realistic, it's not supposed to be. I just don't understand how a rock (something that you pick up off the ground) will trade with a fireball, but at the same time a kunai (a handcrafted ninja knife) won't. Not that it makes any difference to me just seems weird eh? Since when has anything in SF been about true realism? Either way I'm not getting hit by the metsu SRK, so it's all good to me. I was really hoping for Poongko to try that Rose combo, the shamwow reflect to soul throw/super maybe even ultra II then super!! They have to stop showing all the characters. I'm trying to stick with the 5 I have now.

At first I was going to explain based on gameplay why that Ken was just plain bad and not a computer.. then I looked at the upper right. Touche.
Still. Most of the matches are set up so that each character's Ultra will get seen. That's why you see them start focus attacking at the end of the first and second rounds for a few of the fights.

What the hell is this, I know the former announcer wasn't perfect but in my opinion he wasn't all that bad at times... But the one they've plugged in now is AWFUL. God... When he's saying like "DUDLEY WINS" it sounds retarded like he's continuing someone else's sentence or something... sounds terribly uncoherent in some way. Shoot the guy in his head as well as the one who approved of having him in the game. Disastrous.
@100- the SF4 announcer sounded almost exactly like the sfa3 announcer but pple were still unsatisfied and now we have paid for it by having this announcer. I don't mind the announcer to be honest. I'm more concerned with character development and Stage BGM. You may hate the new announcer but once you get the game and start playing it for a while the announcers voice ain't gonna bother you so much.
From what I have observed, Cammy's Cannon Spike defenitely does less damage that it used to. However, it seems that her jumping LK can now cross up properly. It actually works on smaller characters as demonstrated with her matches againts Dhalsim and Chun-Li. And I may be wrong, but it seems that even a high Cannon Strike stuns the opponent longer than it used to. But I could be wrong.
This is exactly why I don't think the Counter ultras are as bad as people say they are.
The first Makoto vs Fei Long video is THE perfect time I imagined to use it, & it is. A whole lot of people over at SRK were just completely bashing it & they all argued saying "If I see the animation for the beginning for a counter ultra, I'll just not do anything", But of course you don't just get in & do it right in front of your opponent, you do it at the exact pin point time just before the start up frames of any of their attacks that way they can't do anything about it. Which shouldn't be too difficult given the (what it seems like) instant execution of the counter ultras.

I think you're overestimating the usefulness of counter ultras, by a huge margin, and i don't think you know how makoto works either. In 3s, Makoto can do grab, hp into hayate. Thanks to the video, we now that only works in the corner, and not midscreen (i'm going to assume the Makoto player didn't know hpx hayate only combos in the corner, which is why he went for it.) Plus they lose to armor breakers as well, so no countering tiger knees or headbutts.
I can give you this, Hakan's ultra 2 looks easy to set up, and it has an easy command to access it when you want to (down, down, 3 buttons)

Well in 3s I've never ever played a Makoto that didn't combo after a karakusa, it's a great setup & I don't know any real SF33s player that doesn't take advantage of that & I imagine that people will try that in SSFIV since its been proven to combo into other things, now given they do not combo because you have a counter ultra, then just by having it in reserve you may save yourself from a combo.
& I'm not talking about the just Makoto & Fei matchup, I'm just saying in general. One would use the ultra when they clearly (already in start up frames)see a typical normal that's used to follow into a string coming or a straight jump in with the hit box already in range. Unless you play with people who actually combo, zone, crossup etc. & not complete noobs that mash ultras, srks & tiger knees all day, chances are, if your smart enough, you're gonna catch someone on one of their bread & butters.
Look at the video again. The counter ultra won't save you from a combo attempt, because the karakusa pushes you back too far to combo after it unless you're in the corner(Has nothing to do with fei long, it has to do with makoto's moveset). It's not like low forward fireball won't hit if you have counter ultra, it'll hit when you mess up the combo.
I guess i have an different perspective because i play friends who've learned not to mash anymore and play smart. I'm gonna use it on players with bad habits as a joke ultra though (coughonlinebalrogscough), until they learn to stop being random

It's going to be something you can use to punish bad links in combos. Just mash it out during their moves and if they screw up, you get free damage. How many times have you seen someone get hit by a SRK because they screwed up a combo? Imagine that being an Ultra.
Woah i swear rose's 2nd ultra does a lot more damage than the vegas build, it looks like its going to be a very useful ultra for her. Also why does dee jay's 2nd ultra give the opponent less ex meter than the raging demon even though it has more hits than the ragind demon?
Did anyone else notice how much insane damage Cammy's CQC Ultra does? They really toned down the damage for a lot of the characters but she took out almost half of Dhalsim's health.
Actually nevermind. She had a full Ultra meter. Makes a little more sense now.

I must agree on Sturmgeist13, because in Justin Wong's demo of Makoto he says that u can still do the commandthrow into the fierce and than dashpush! But this is still all speculation we still don't know for sure because for we know that guy just messed up the combolink or it was just staged...
Adon is looking to be a pretty good character. I wonder if he has any way to link into his ultra 1 and still get the full animation
