I guess Illinois sux when it comes to SF tournaments... no SF hope for me there

Posted by Sairus on March 12, 2010 at 3:28 a.m. #6

You should try and set up your own SF scene, Nelaelu. Shoryuken has a pretty good podcast up now on Growing your Scene, you should give it a listen.

Also, just because there's no tournament doesn't mean there's no scene. There's game nights every Friday at Urbana-Champaigne, and there's something going on almost constantly in Chicago.

Again, Shoryuken would be a good place to find that info on it.

WE NEED MORE TOURNYS IN NY WITH PS3!

Posted by MajenX on March 12, 2010 at 8:06 a.m. #9

Finally, our tournament (in Norway) is getting recognized lol... we may not be Americans or japanese, but we got a lot of solid players out there! (We even have a Sagat that rivals LI Joe!)I would say at this point that my Ken rivals Damdai)

here`s semi-proof...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSEcl5...

We also got alot of solid Balrogs, one great Akuma, 2 awesome Dhalsim`s (which I hate -_-) and one helluva Zangief line-up... (not a lot of ryu`s lol... but we have one who made it to 2nd place at the last tourney...)

Anyways, tune in, it should be fun... and if it sucks, you can always tune out lol :D

yo majenx, that combo @ 1:22 holy shet! lol, never seen that done by any of the ken's i've played. sick damage too! (almost made me think he lowered his stamina or something :| )

Posted by kidd on March 12, 2010 at 10:37 a.m. #11

where is the final round stream

Posted by MajenX on March 12, 2010 at 10:50 a.m. #12

@ #11 (dommafia)

Hehe, thnx... As Seb would prolly say: We got tricks too! (and you don`t see that combo often because it requires a lot of bars + ultra + flawless execution + zero-to-no-lag...)

in a nutshell; it`s Ken`s perfect storm...

@6

Agreed Chicago doesn't really appreciate SF4.. kinda blows

I need opinions please, I want to hold a small tourney at my local mall, except they only have one set up and its pay for x minutes not a traditional arcade machine, is this a bad idea? would anyone show up? would it suck? I was thinking of just paying for a whole bunch of time before hand.

Posted by MajenX on March 12, 2010 at 3:46 p.m. #20

One setup? and you have to pay...? Sorry dude, that`s not gonna work unless it`s a 4-man tourney or something... Not saying you should give up, but from the sounds of it, that`s not a fun tourney... Find a different way... check who lives in your area using shoryuken (USA) or neoempire (UK)

good luck!

If you didn't watch MvC2 on the Final Round, I suggest checking it out on whatever videos they upload. Ski is a crazy commentator.
