A pretty good source is reporting that Justin Wong is seeking to figure out as early as possible which new character could be a counter for Ryu (since most are assuming, besides Sagat, no returning character will be) so he can train hard to have a competitive edge over Daigo. Time will tell if that works out or not for him.

Looking forward to Guy, Cody, and Adon demos as well. So far the 3rd Strike characters seem very dominating at close range, but it will not mean much if they cannot get in and deal damage effectively, and without relying on EX Supers. Time will tell...

dude she can combo into her ultra like Dan can. Since her super is not exactly an attack, she can do her ultra right after the startup animation. Moreover, the Ultra is even stronger after the Super buff. Don't worry if she doesn't have as many tools as Ibuki or even Dudley. She's got that Super-Ultra combo already

All of the 3S characters look very good.
Makoto is probably the worst of the 3, but she's still looking very strong. Karakusa links to Ultra 1...oh yes!

Do you see that damage? Combo off of axe kick? That actually might beat SRK's, and if it does...OH...MY...GOD. Her super is incredible, her dash is amazing (Being a Rose player, you know I love my dashses), and she still can combo off of her karakusa, which is still a good hit confirm for ultra. Fukiage still seems worthless, unless it can deal with crossups

Every returning character looks high tier with massive damage. Ibuki is definitely A tier material with that amount of awesomeness so her stamina better be adjusted accordingly. Well I definitely know who I'm maining now and cammy gets to be the secondary. I really wanna know more about cammy.

I really like it that Wong did the video demos, but COULD OF GT TUNED DOWN THE MUSIC!? I can barely hear the guy. Dudley I think is going to be solid. His Ultra II has a lot of ways to combo into it, and his Super is really good I think. Ibuki I think will be ok, but I think Ibuki players are going to relay too much on tricks and shenanigans to win. But Makoto, I think I found my new character. She is FAST, can do her Ultra I off of her common grab, or cancel her Dash punch into Super, cancel that into Ultra, did you guys see how much damage that did? And he didn't show it, but I think you can juggle her Ultra II off an AA DP. I think Dudley will be the best out of the 3 overall, but Makoto I think is way better than what I thought she was going to be. Still on the fence about Ibuki though, will she be Viper (Hard to use, but when played right, really good) or Gen (Hard to use and still sucks except for Yeb).

I decided I was going to main Ibuki in any future iteration after playing 3rd strike back in '04. I'm somewhat confused on the inputs of Ibuki's ultra combo. Correct me if I'm wrong, but is it:
LP, MP, HP, down, forward, down, forward, upleft, 3K?
I'm under the assumption it will be like this with shortcuts. Do I just do it fast enough so that the down and the upleft register as the jump cancel, but the 3K causes it to go into ultra?
Help please.

@88: Guile is in the doghouse for eternity. Which sucks, since I like him.
Makoto does ridiculous damage, the problem will be getting that super in the first place. And if you mess it up, you're in trouble.

hopefully he had time to play the characters before the final build, so they could tweak their balance, but dudley is looking like he has loads of options, maybe too many...i hope they dont drop the bollock on this one, with such high expectations it HAS to be on the money or the fans will rape them, just have to wait until release.

Makoto has good power but I think she's gonna be overrated. Nothing I saw is gonna beat a Shoryuken also Akuma, Ken, and Ryu Shoryu is gonna stop that quickly. Now Makoto has strenght but looks like her AA is as solid as Gouken(which is crap) and I say that cause Akuma's dive kick trades with DP's and Makotos AA looks very weak...now Ibuki and Dudley are gonna be a problem...

The demo was done by Gametrailers which probably hired Justin to do the demo. Capcom didn't hire him nor did they gave him preferential treatment.
Justin isn't the only pro player in the world to have tried out SSF4. There are more and more every week.
Pro players usually practice 8 hours daily. A few more hours testing the game than everyone else is like a drop of water in the sea for them.
Neither is testing before everyone else going to matter because new strategies gets spread really fast in these internet times.

It looks like they actually tryed to develope these characters. They gave them the stuff they need to be competitive, i hope the same can be said of the rest of the cast. But honestly with everyone haveing mutli/easy ways to get the ultra they shouldnt have tooken away deejays ex straight kick crumple. THere was nothing wrong with it, doin mutli striaght kicks into ultra would be retard cause of dmg scaleing, but the way to fix that should be to have the second crumbling attack knock the other player away like it does in the current game with mutli focus attacks.

Maybe I jumped to conclusions here, Makoto not having the command grab after dash punch is ok for SSF4. She does have command grab to Ultra. but her DP is looking to be a bit useless, and if her axe kick isn't overhead she is going to have the Cammy problem, crouch block everything.

Makoto might be useful in the hands of a pro. But it seems she needs to get beat up b4 pulling off that great super-ultrea combo. Another problem is that it seems the fukiage and the dash punch seems useless. The chop is yet to be comboed. I hope her special moves are more useful than they seem to be.

Well, we haven't seen half of Makoto's potential; her Abare Tosanami Ultra wasn't shown there. We'll see if she can still put it after a HP, then combo it into a dash-Fukiage(her Dragon punch)-Jump Cancel-Axe Kick, and so one.
But Ibuki's HK Kasumi Gake (dash command) going through the opponent, Wow! It seems more efficient than her Street Fighter III normal dash which had the same feature.
And Dudley... He's a Monster. Too bad he ain't got his Third Strike voice like Makoto has.

I like Makoto i think shes the best of the three.Super + ultra toward the end of the match spells win every time.Don't forget that most of these guys can fadc.I feel Makoto is like Abel in a way when Abel can dash in to command throw that sh*t is scary,And Makoto can do that same thing god she better thin u guys think don't count her out just think bout it it's so easy dash command grab super cancel ultra nuff said.

Makoto's DP was always kinda limited in use so that doesn't really bug me. I noticed JWONG didn't even bother demoing her karate chop. I heard the EX version is fugging awesome... So she can probably throw out the chop after a blocked axe kick so she'll have a bit of mixups there.

Akuma is a pacific Islander if he's not from Japan. Some times i think you guys get confused with nationality and ethnicity.
Though AKuma's dark skin is because he is a DEMON he may not be Japanese (pure blood) but reigns from Japan cuz thats the place where they decided to locate him. Dhalsim isn't black thats jus dumb..
And once again what historical Indian boxers do you know of..... 0..... Dudley is modeled after Chris Eubanks look him up he's black-British... So if anything Dudley is mixed african-decent with English heritage he is not indian, it doesnt make any historical since, and street fighter does a pretty adequate job of being historically relevant.
But him being Indian is just a slap in the face to all the black and white boxers who reign from the U.S. and U.K. and who made the sport what it is. Thats why Balrog is M.Bison in Japan because he is Mike Tyson the man who made Boxing the Golden age with ridiculous 70mil per fight sport that is (or once was)

Also about Dudley's damage output... think about Balrogs link to super or ultra it does a lot of damage and isnt hard to pull off. Now think about those links being easier to pull off with the same speed and priority that is dudley in a nutshell. You have to consider Hit-COnfirms and damage output. I find balrog to do too much damage with how easy it is to pull of but w/e.
Dudley with practice can hit confirm his chain and after the 5 hit link to super if it did a ton of damage you guys would be complaining. I think we call it balance.
Makoto karakusa grab to ultra if you look carefully it doesnt do much damage even when the ultra meter is full. Though the super to ultra combo does more it too got scaled. Its like rufus's U1.

How many famous latino boxers are there in the world right now (pacman being #1) now take that relatively small number (in compairson to the ali's and marciano's) of great latino boxers and tell me how many of them fight at over 200 pounds, because the list gets even smaller.. Latino fights rule the lighter weights, so it would be an argument if Dudley was 160lbs but he's a big dude and Latino fighters don't and probably never will rule those divisions. But i do know who does rule the heavy divisions...

Except Makoto has something Cammy doesn't have - an overhead. Her QCB+P is an excellent overhead, and it should be super cancelable too, so long the LP/MP versions don't knockdown. The EX version is insanely good as well.

@173 Jwong was making sure the move came out. Playing a lil DUdley in 3rd strike his duck straight/uppercut move and even machine gun blow needs some precise timing to juggle and link from normals etc. So to compensate for that time Jwong initiates the ducking move and then repeatedly taps the lk button to ensure that the uppercut comes out as quickly as possible.
So one combo he shows is cr. lp(x2) S.mp --> hcf+lk (ducking)--> lk (x2-4; to ensure ducking uppercut comes out)
When playing as dudley you'll notice that his ducking can be delayed but in a combo a delay could mean losing the combo.

Ibuki looks pretty good but right now looks mid tier to me. Can she sjc into a sweep? Does she have any good wake up options? How good is her zoning? Does she have any 3 frame moves? If the answer is yes to all of these then she will be top tier. Right now her offense she looks okay but still nothing compared to Viper. She'll need a lot more than that to be top tier.

Im still completely in the dark in terms of what guy can or cant do which sucks cuz he's my main.
