Episode 1 of Cross Counter with Gootecks and Mike Ross

Gootecks and Mike Ross have created a new series titled Cross Counter to help you improve your Street Fighter game. They take matches from the community and go back over them highlighting various things the players can do to improve.

This is a really awesome idea and it's very well done, so it's definitely worth checking out.

This is a good idea but they need to speak louder and adjust the audio tracks and stuff, but not a bad idea.

Suggestions:

Sort out the microphones, the audio quality is poor at the moment.

Get a more comfortable setup for the human clips.

Only reason why its free cause they are sponsored by Machinima, now if only more companies would sponsor others, nobody would have to beg for money.

What exactly is wrong with Gootecks' giving lessons for a fee? If Eric Clapton were in the business of giving lesson, I don't suppose he'd do it gratis. Many of us aren't professionals, what's wrong with paying for help from someone who is?

Great stuff. I don't play either of these characters but I play against them all the time. Good universal info here. And there is definitely nothing wrong with getting lessons for a fee. If you want top level, 1 on 1 instruction on anything, you're gonna pay for it.

gootecks forgot to mention another advantage rufus has on balrog is that his ultra 1 can actually combo him off galactic tornado anywhere on screen, not just corner. and that he should of punished the headbutt whiff with hp -> hp galactic tornado -> ultra1, not lk->hk ultra like mike ross said.

It is specific for a few characters but Rog is one of them.

Gotta love the haters that haven't provided ANYTHING to the community talking sh*t about someone who HAS. I personally wouldn't pay for a 1 on 1 lesson but that's because I'm cheap and broke... but if someone has the extra cash and wants to do it, who are you to hate on Gootecks providing that service? yeah just a hater.

Do your thing ThrowTecks :P (yes I know it has been debunked)

@22 IRPANDA, Rufus can do Galactic tornado to ultra1 anywhere on screen vs Balrog, Vega, and Zangief.

theres a difference between hating and REALITY. He does alot for the communtiy but chargeing for something he could just do as a tutorial is stupid. Not on his part but on the part of the people paying.

Thank you to EventHubs for posting, and thank you everybody for the feedback on Cross Counter, I'm glad it's well received.

The audio stuff is completely out of our hands at this point because of the hardware limitations at Machinima. If you guys could post a comment on the video page on YouTube, that would help us get more resources allocated to the show. Trust me, I'm an audio guy and it KILLS me, but the second episode's audio already sounds better.

The only thing I'm going to say about training is that you simply aren't that experienced at Street Fighter if you think that you can learn everything there is to know from videos and forums. How is a video or forum going to point out what you're doing right and wrong and correct your decision-making? Lots of people simply don't have access to an experienced player to get feedback from, so that's the service I provide. If that still doesn't make sense to you, then bring on the hate cuz I love it <3
