ShackNews.com conducted an interview with Seth Killian at E3 concerning Marvel vs. Capcom 3. This piece discusses some of the ins and outs of the gameplay and it's a pretty good read. Shack: Of the playable characters we've seen so far, there's no filler. Each character is powerful. Is that the goal of the team?
Seth Killian: That was one of the explicit goals. One of the things we got brow-beat on with Marvel vs. Capcom 2 was the Capcom characters weren't considered as strong as the Marvel guys. That's understandable, you've got the Hulk and Storm - who is technically a goddess - versus Ryu, who's just pretty good at karate.
But seriously, we've made a conscious effort to power up the Capcom guys, but in ways that are true to their character. That's the challenge and the team takes that very seriously. Dante is a great example. He's got all of his special moves from Devil May Cry 3, but they are in a fighting game and they totally work. If you're a fan of Dante, you can use his gauntlets, both of his guns, and all of his sword tricks with fire and ice. They are all there.
Also, Ryota Niitsuma is interviewed on Joystiq.com. This article isn't as good as the previous one, but Niitsuma alludes to the possibility of there being a Marvel vs. Capcom 3 release on the Wii.
Capcom, I'm not going to jump to conclusions but if this game has infinites then **** you. Infinites are game-breaking high skill or not. I'd like someone to tell me they enjoy watching an infinite until time out...
I'm with #2 on this one, it's nothing new.
I mean, anyone who has seen the graphics and the sheer speed of this game can instantly realize it's not going to be on the Wii, at least right away. The Wii is marketed as a product for families and young children, whereas the other consoles are marketed and produced for the more serious crowd, and that's where they're going to make their money.
F DA WII
DONT WASTE YO TIME ON WII CAPCOM . THEY GOT TvC , leave it at that.
I'm curious why they wouldn't put this on the Wii while TvC was Wii *exclusive*.
Capcom's made more mature rated games for the Wi,, Resident Evil stuff. I wonder why they would think MvC3, tamer by comparison than several of their other Wii games, isn't as good for the Wii.
He just ****ing said that adjusting MvC3 for the Wiimote and Nunchucks is hard. It's just way too different from an arcade stick or PS3/360 controller. The only exception is Super Smash Brother Brawl. That had a GODLIKE controller setup made just for it. I used the Wiimote and Nunchucks when playing Brawl. It felt very natural. But this can only happen for Brawl.
No wii port!!! they got tvc as a wii exclusive game, so we need the better vs series on xbox and ps3, idc if mvc3 has the same graphics and playstyle as tvc, ive waited for this game for years, mvc was my first vs series in all my 15 years, and for this game to be ruined by being put on the wii is unacceptable (ps i dont hate the wii, its just the fact tht wii is obsolete, the only reason it beat xbox and ps3 in sales is tht it was meant for everyone, while xbox and ps3 was made for hardcore gamers)
Plus only good games on wii are super smash bros brawl, monster hunter 3, tvc, twilight princess, mario kart wii, and now super street fighter 4 out of its huge library of games
@ AnsatsukenChamp
You forgot Punch-Out!!, No More Heroes 1 & 2, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, Red Steel 2 (2 only :P), MADWORLD,
Muramasa: The Demon Blade, Boom Blox 2, & Warioware: Smooth Moves.

> He just ****ing said that adjusting MvC3 for the Wiimote and Nunchucks is hard.
Where did he say that?
As for Brawl, yeah, and that's because the SSB mechanics were built from the ground up to rely on few buttons and an analog controller. It's a lot harder to adapt an existing game.
@ #16.
"It's worth pointing out that one of the main hurdles Capcom had to overcome with porting Street Fighter 4 to the Wii is coming up with a control scheme that would work on the the default controllers, the Wiimote and Nunchuck."
Second to last paragraph of the article.
SF4 isn't MvC3 last I checked, Niitsuma's referring to why Wii didn't see an SF4 release, not MvC3. The Wii controls for MvC3 would be virtually identical to TvC on Wii.
@ #18.
I meant that MvC3 uses 2 less buttons than SSF4. SSF4 has LP, MP, HP, LK, MK, HK, PPP, and KKK for a total of 8 buttons. MvC3 has L, M, H, EX, A1, and A2 for a total of 6 buttons. I don't exactly know how the controls for TvC work on the Wiimote and Nunchucks. All I know is that TvC has L, M, H, Assist, and Tag-out for a total of 5 buttons. I couldn't find a video showing how that fits on the Wiimote and Nunchucks. But MvC3 doesn't look to be possible on the Wii, because of the controls. Every other factor...there are no other factors. It's just impossible due to the controls.
@ 20 tvc has 4 buttons l,m,h, partner. Wiimote or the wiimote + nunchuck had one attack button that did the l>m>h target combo for you when you pressed the A button. You could still modify the attack chain by hold a direction but it does not allow you to do like L > down L > down M > forward M > H. Then there is a special button..this does special moves but this is dumb because you cant control if you want to do L, M or H version of that move. Also its 6 buttons for ssf4. PPP and KKK are shortcuts for lazy people :P when you go to the arcade to play sf4 you wont see the extra 2 buttons :)
In any case MvC 3 is still possible for the wii since you can still use a classic controller perfectly fine for the game and as I recall Monster hunter Tri came bundled with a classic controller so who knows...its still possible.
Dont know why people that dislike the wii are getting mad over the fact that there could be a possibility of a wii version of MvC3. This does not affect you at all in anyway :S
@ #21.
SSF4 doesn't have a tag-out option, so that's why it gets macro buttons. I appreciate this option, that's all.
I am fully aware that MvC3 is possible on the Wii with the classic controller and the GameCube controller. But isn't it required to be usable with the Wiimote and Nunchucks? The fact that you can't play it on the default controller is kinda disheartening. I guess they could implement TvC's "easy mode" option for the Wiimote and Nunchucks for MvC3.
@ Strumegeist13
That adds only 11 more ( cant believe i forgot Punch-Out!!! The other mario games) i can name way more xbox and ps3 games that are very good, its too much tht i cant even count them all right now
Imho, these people need to stop being fanboyish and just pick up a 360. They're not even as expensive as Wii anymore (and Elite version is soon to be only 40-90 dollars more).
I have both too. On Wii I'd prefer TVC2, but MVC3 definitely fits on a high-res system better like the 360.
MvC3 isn't coming to the Wii, because they already have MvC3, it's called Tatsunoku vs. Capcom.
F*** The Wii.
Boom!
