I believe the tournament this time around (GOD'S GARDEN SSFIV) will be an online tournament as opposed to being in an actual arcade location in tokyo. So the players (tokido and sako) will probably be at their respective homes playing online.
On a side note, I guess you probably already know that the arcade version for SSFIV hasn't been released yet that's why their conducting this tournament online for now.
@ Baja post #13
lost respect? are you friggin serious, those wake up ultras were to counter cammy's dive kicks and to try to keep sako in check. I respect both players and I could constantly see each player adjust their strategies to adjust to one another which made the set so interesting.... you're a total noob for judging one of the street fighter's serious most famous players just because he adjusted himself to counter sako. Yea... great insight on the fight bud... all you noticed was the wake up ultra
Tokido Akuma is impressive still, lots of pressure comming from Sako. Looking forward to the Momochi/Daigo fight.
There's some more Sako vs. Tokido vids in bendermac's youtube channel...mostly practice before F210 matches
http://www.youtube.com/user/bendermac...
this match is NOT 6-4 Cammy. It is a 5-5 match. Tokido lost because Sako outplayed him. Can akuma crybabies shut up now please?
The thing is Sako´s Cammy is untouchable. This guy was a god in fighting games way before or alongside Daigo. At that time he was owning left and right in Vampire Savior with a low tier character (B.B.Hood) and this time is no exception.
Sako unleashes the full potential of Cammy.
Was hoping to see Sako's Ibuki in action. Anyway, it was awesome watching those matches.
Tokido lost because he had the retarded ENG voice for Gouki.
At least Momochi doesn't soil and disrespect the demon.
DAYYYUM! Tokido lost his cool...that was a awkward site. Cammy was on fire though.
As for commentary, S-kill all the way. He stays on subject and knows when to STFU. One stream I watched had commentary about dick and other random annoying stuff.
@ #16
I'm fully capable of grasping the meta game, and what I said still stands. They weren't calculated ultras, they were just plain scrubby wake up ultras hoping to hit, which they did about half the time. Also, Tokido doesn't seem to have the block discipline that most other top player has, instead he just mashes teleport on alot of wake ups and air resets. So just shut the hell up. So damn ignorant
I'm an Akuma player and I gotta say that Cammy is a tough match. I thought both players did quite well. There was a time when myself (and many others I'm sure) disregarded 'console characters' and in a sense dismissed their being used seriously.
Sako and many others stand to change that perception. This isn't the case for Super at all and this attitude needs to change by way of learning otherwise ignored or glossed over match-ups. Cammy is a good example of this, as is Fei Long, Rose and other 'non arcade' characters who are gaining popularity.
I'm looking forward to the up and coming Godsgarden matches - I managed to catch this one live via a very snappy stream and loved every second of it :)
you guys need to stop listing matchups. it has nothing to do with who won. It's the player not the character.
Weve uploaded our stream with english commentary to yuotube, featuring Chris Hu, Min and myself as english commentators.
yYou can find it at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qy0iwU... however it is still currently processing.
@43 and 44 He does the sweep so he can reset the wake up game. Shoryuken knocks them further away and the opponent can choose either to quick stand or not. A sweep allows Akuma to determine the wake up game and create a type of vortex guessing game and which stops the opponent from quick standing.
@34 Do you honestly think Tokido completely mashed out those ultras and that he didn't know they would connect? He has a very good understanding of the game. If he were simply mashing out ultras on wake up, wouldn't he have used them a lot more? And what's wrong with teleporting away? Would you rather take a block string, some chip damage and give the person meter? If you have a free escape, use it. I don't really think you understand the metagame, as much as you think you do.
@34
I don't mind that you stick with your opinion, but sorry bud no one agrees with ya.. apparently... so we are all being understanding that you're the ignorant one when it comes to Street Fighter... we're not going to tell you to shut up... we're just hoping you'll finally understand this community and the players one day....geez you're ignorant... you cant even see or understaqndsee the adjustments and strategies those top players put out...
@Bajas
you give me joke! proper doughnut lol instead of dissing the player you should ask people why did he teleport etc and people will tell you... your watching the JAP's i.e. the best lol they dont do things for no reason! watch and learn lol how could you think you know better lol i swear ive played you on psn and if i remember your not all that lol real scrubby! lol dont mean to diss you but i had too your comments were way off lol poor guy!
both players are sick! real mental play! sick counter pokes and resets! prefer the akuma play style but loved the links from cammy! all eyes on daigo my money is on him! he is the king when it come to a 1st to 10 or 30 remember the justin rufus match and mago sagat match when daigo gets time to play on a long basis he usually dominates! and remember this is a tourney setup with daigo this is his new exhibition matches! lol 1st to 10 suits him all day! wish there was a abel player as that is one of ryu's worst match ups
this tourney is stronger than evo IMO longer sets and all JAPS lol no games no gimmicks! wish i could play to this level lol no where near to be honest lol
long live sf
@34 Quoting you, "They weren't calculated ultras, they were just plain scrubby wake up ultras hoping to hit, which they did about half the time."
If they were really random, then they wouldn't have landed half the time. Random ultras don't work on the top players of Japan. Also, he didn't wake-up ultra nearly as often as you said he did. He used it twice on wake-up to punish cross-ups and once(?) to try to get Sako on a jump-in while he was in the corner. To be able to land it against a cross-up takes really precise timing. Besides that, he didn't just mash the ultra whenever he had it.
I think that what a lot of people don't notice is the difference between a well-timed demon and a random one, since there's no way to hit-confirm it, and frame traps with the ultra are nigh impossible.
Its true Daigo is best in long sets he claims to have lost only once in his career from in a long set and it was 49-51 against another 3rd strike player. Sako and Momochi will give him a run for his money though.
i just saw tokido vs sako on youtube and...
sucks how the players have to wait to press ready online, sucks even more watch them waiting lol
i maen those players know each other tokido , mago and daigo and all the players in this tourny are buddies
why they didnt assemble during an weekend and made this tourny!?
why it had to be online?
@DRain
I would say a couple of those demons were random and he just trough them out there. Some were calculated and he did them because he knew Sako wanted to apply pressure to Tokido, and most of Cammys stuff can get Demon'ed no problem.
Also wake-up ultras not working on Japanese. I would say that the wake-up ultra in high level play is the highest level of play. High level players know that going for a wake up ultra is stupid because it never works, but because of this it will work on the best players. I remember seeing LA Riots 2(?) were it was Combofiend vs Kai game was over and Combofiend went to finish off Kai and Kai did wake up ultra for the win. In situations like this wake up ultra is the highest level off play because you are Yomis ahead of your opponent.
But most of the time its not high level play just a scruby not knowing what to do.
So I finish off by saying wake up work on Japanese and work on all of the high level players even on Daigo. It just harder on him.
@ #57 sakonoko
are you sure you're really sakonoko from Japan? I'm sorry but i have strong doubts about your true identity.
@47 Yeah I do, and your mentality is exactly that of your typical online scrub. Just mash "safe" sh't on wakeup, it'll work about half the time so it's worth it, right? And obviously he didn't KNOW it would hit, cause half the time it didn't and he paid for it
@ Bajas
Knock it off Bajas. Top tier players in general, not to mention in JAPAN, don't throw out random ultras.
@ bananainsaneface
Apparently Justin Wong claims to have beaten Daigo 10-4 in a nonexistent game in Japan that nobody witnessed and nobody recorded. Yeah right.
@baja
oh bud, its funny looking at you.... you don't even know what you're arguing about anymore... if they throw out what may seem to be a random ultra to you, is to them a good calculated chance they think is worth taking to adjust to their opponents habits, it may work, it may not work, but in the end they choose to to do from learning.... not from randomly doing it like a scrub... you talk so much senseless crap i don't even know how to respond to your noob responses and reactions anymore... like I said bud.... I told ya....
Sorry for the ignorance, but who does the commentary for Team Spooky usually?
