At Nintendo's E3 press conference this morning, they confirmed that Capcom is working on a 3DS version of Super Street Fighter 4.

The Nintendo 3DS comes with a 3.53-inch top screen and a 3.02-inch bottom touch screen. It has three cameras – one inner and two outer – to deliver the 3D effect [without glasses] and take 3D pictures. It includes a motion sensor, a gyro sensor and even a Slide Pad that allows 360-degree analog input.

wow and this whole time i thought the Nintendo DS was useless. good stuff Capcom
As long as it's just dumbed-down graphicaly with the gameplay completely intact, down to every frame, I might be interested. I can play semi-competently on a 360 controller and a 3DS can't be TOO much worse, and while I'd never play competitively on either, it might be cool to practice on the go.

My thoughts exactly.

Well, for starters, it's a true 3D game, not a sprite game. And it also has decent controllers. (Yeah, not fightstick, but still better than 4-button touchscreen)
I wish they took away that excessive ink effect, it really highlights the lack of anti-aliasing. On a PS3 or a PC with AA off, you hardly notice the aliased graphics; turn on the ink touch or color #11, it becomes really blatant.
Whoa whoa whoa.

Is it just me or Ryu's shadow has no body? Just limbs floating around

You can pirate all the 360, PSP, DS and the Wii games as well. So I don't really see your point here....
A PC port should've been a no brainer given the fanbase, unless they want to maximize their console sales first.
@GrimmjawJin Those all require modding, and there are many people out there who would rather buy games than to risk ruining their console. Also, pirating for PC is a lot easier and a lot more convenient.
I'm liking this news, but does that mean that the touch screen won't be used? I'm hoping maybe there's an option to map punch/kick buttons or something on the touch screen. Using the shoulder buttons is kind of annoying, especially for those who aren't used to playing on a pad.
This is badass. I want to see what else Capcom has in store for the 3DS, especially if a new, 3-d AA is in the pipelines. Man this is some good feeling hype, haven't been this hyped since pre-DS release back in 8th-9th grade.
Btw, I'm surprised you guys haven't put up all the MVC3 stuff that's been put out by now.
Oh my gosh, MvC3 looks so legit! I'm stoked!
...Oh yeah, 3DS SSF4 is cool too.
Besides, I'm pretty sure the gameplay on this will get dumbed down, not just the graphics. You can't play a fighting game decently with that flimsy dpad. I guess the only good (lol) thing about it is that a lot of 10 year old girls will get to know the game, since that's 99% of the people who buy a DS anyway.
Are you s***ting me, a ssf4 version for a crappy ds and no pc. So much for piracy... really smart move from capcom.
on a nintendo [handheld] console? funny sh*t. I like how SSF4 isn't on the wii, but it makes it to this.
This is just further proof the game will come to PC IMO. PC FTW!!! Cant wait for super, stop making us wait capcom. Arcade=PC.
HOLY CRAP. This is just too great. Now I really can't wait for the 3DS to be released. Although, I find the coloring of the system to be kinda weird. It's probably just a concept image, but I still think it's a little odd. But this on the 3DS! This and only this!
@TopT: Forgive my noobishness, but what is "RSF?"
@Drain
No variation of the DS to date requires modding, the DS Phat and lite can play pirate games with any old R4 cart that does not harm the system in any way, and the DSI and XL will also with newer carts.
The PSP (except the PSPGo) and Wii can be softmodded with custom firmware and, provided your not a complete idiot, work perfectly without harming the system. In fact loading Wii games from a USB hard drive will save wear and tear on the laser, and loading PSP ISO's from the memory stick save wear and tear on the UMD drive whilst also making the battery last longer.
Only the 360 needs an actual modchip so thats the most difficult platform to pirate games on, but pirating games on the DS is just as easy if not easier then the PC, and once you have your PSP/Wii soft modded then their not that difficult either.
Having said that, I own a DS Phat, and if this port is good enough I might buy a 3DS just for it. Ive been tempted to bring my PS3 down to my Girl Friends place a few times as she actually likes Street Fighter, how lucky am I :-)
For DS (which can be ripped in SECONDS, emulated on the PC and the DS itself) it appears, but NOT for PC.
Of course CAPCOM, more brain please.
Its got the right amount of buttons to make the controls perfectly fine (IMO, the gba version was ruined by the fact you had to press both buttons to throw out a medium attack).
I just hope they wont add anything too gimmicky. Like touch controls or something ridiculous to do with the 3D
I wonder why capcom is avoiding making a psp version knowing everyone wants a psp version of ssf4.There releasing some type of version of sf4 to every handheld under the sun, even iphone, and thats not even a portable game system, and now nintendo 3ds,but no psp.Makes no sense at all. :(
This is awesome.
