Capcom Europe's senior director of marketing, Michael Pattison, told MCVUK.com that they're going to revive some of their old franchises."We've also got some other franchises in our locker which we're going to re-establish on the global stage in the near future. We're not going to rest on our laurels and even with established franchises we're going to try new things.
"We have quite a few surprises up our sleeves as we look to bring back some much-loved brands, create new ones and innovate with our existing line-up. I believe our fans will be happy with what we're planning."
CAPCOM VS SNK 2!!!!!! STREET FIGHTER ALPHA!!!!!!
3rd Strike re-release! I wouldn't mind CvS2 or Darkstalkers either.
i know this has nothing to do with fighting games, but its Capcom related. I'd like to see remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3 just as they did RE1 for gamecube. Then they could port all of those remakes over to ps3, add trophy and additional bonus content and PLOOOWWW, got yourselves some $$$ Capcom. I BET it would sell really good.
ghouls and goblins HAD a re-make/re-release called Ultimate Ghost 'N Goblins for the PSP a while back, i dont know exactly how well it did, but i loved it and spent hours playing that game
They got bionic comqndo rearmed 2 coming out a remake to the arcade version so I am hoping more arcade hits to make a giant comeback
I'd love a darkstalkers revival and a rival schools revival
I only have vague memories of watching my former stepbrother playing rival schools when i was young, and i have never played a darkstalkers game in my life but for rival schools i was too young to operate the controls with any degree of mastery, and i am unable to get a hold of a darkstalkers game, i was around 1 when it was released.
I am very interested in both titles.
Street Fighter 3 and Alpha are not older franchises. :\
@ everyone asking for Resi
Capcom recently stated that they have no plans to continue the series, and if they ever did decide to do a Resi 6, it would probably be a revamp. That being said, I doubt this announcement has anything to do with Resi. From the interview I read, it sounded like the idea of a "next" resi game hadn't crossed their minds at all
I know this is gonna be strange...but some Red Earth expansion would be nice. Come on, the ability to level up your characters? Badass.
SF V as a sequel to three with new characters. No more ports! Why does everyone act like they don't play third Strike on GGPO and need it on Live!
darko_p86: I'd sure love to see them do that with Resident Evil, and there has been discussion of a remake of RE2 in the press from time to time. I only wonder if they might prefer to simply reboot the series...more statements have been made to that effect. For that matter, a reboot of Street Fighter may be more likely than a Street Fighter V.
#38: "It's definately Third Strike Pattison was referring to in the last sentence of the second quote. The demand for that game has been insane."
It's never been high enough for them to think a new version has a chance of making its budget back (remember, it was red ink for them when it was new). But it's possible that the inclusion of SFIII characters in SSFIV has led to an increased interest.
Looking through their library: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_...
I'd really really love to see a return to King of Dragons. That was one of the best SNES-era beat-em-ups and would translate very very well to 3D with online multiplayer.
3rd strike. if any game deserves a remake its this one. sure it'll be costly, but its worth the spending. EVERYONE will buy this game. plz plz plz plz plz make a remake of 3rd strike
Two fighting games I'd like to see re-established are:
Power Stone & the Mega Man fighting series (e.g. "The Power Battle" and "The Power Fighters")
Power Stone's 3-D arena with in-level traps and multiple usable items was a very fun and unique step in fighting games, and I think that genre deserves a re-visit.
Now that Capcom has established the seamless 2.5 fighting game style, I think it's the perfect time to re-visit the idea of a Mega Man fighting game. One dream of mine is to play a Mega Man game as one or many of the robot masters, and with such an incredible and deep roster of them, I'm sure Capcom could put together a fresh, yet nostalgic game.
i cant believe the number of people screaming for 3S. for about $30 you can get a dreamcast and third strike, for about $70 you can get a PS2 or xbox with SFAC. those prices go down if you have a dreamcast, PS2, BC PS3, xbox, or 360. its not like MvC2 where if you found a copy it would run you close to $100, there is no demand for third strike outside of the community. capcom would NOT make their money back just off of us buying it.
For how many frames are in it, I think it'd be easier to convert it to 3D if they were going to remake 3S. I can't imagine it would be that much less work, but at a certain point it has to be easier to reposition a 3D model then to redraw a sprite for the 4,000th time.
I'm almost burnt out/overwhelmed by the amount of fighters so I'll take only CvS3, Darkstalkers, and Rival Schools but I'd really like Strider 3, Rockman Dash 3/Rockman X9, Dino Crisis done RE5 style, and a new Breath of Fire. Capcom is the bomb.com at fighters but I'd love for them to go back to making badass Japanese action/adventure/RPG games instead all this Westernized weak sauce like RE5 or LP2.
And no 3S please. Like the game but we need new games guys. I bought a nextgen system to play new stuff not the same game from 5-11 years ago. Plus most people still 3S on GGPO. Like I say, if you don't like the new stuff then don't play it.
