I'm really thinking about picking tatsunoko v capcom up, if the gameplay is really that in your face, and it has music like that. In other news, Juri's english voice is superior. No contest.
all these videos makes me realize how stupid the damage-scaling is in SSF4/SF4 the maximum scaling should be to 20%-30% of standard dmg instead of 10% imo

fighting games has always been about combos and sf4 engine has the coolest engine but ruined it with its stupid damaage scaling.. and theres nothing wrong with the long combos.. its not free it takes up the entire super bar most of the time.

@ 11 - SF4 is a new breed of fighting game. you'll just have to get over that, because capcom isnt going to change it for some kid online who thinks they know best. the system is checks and balances. they give you possibly the best, most open non-custom-combo system we have ever seen at the expense of damage scaling. in some cases, its not about how much meter these take, but how easy they are. without the severe scaling you could easily kill someone with a few fierces and an EX bar. sakura's short tatsumaki links are stupid easy, and without damage scaling she would be too good, and she only needs one EX meter. j.fierce, c.fierce, short tatsu, c.fierce, short tatsu, s.short, EX tatsu, shinku hadouken would do stupid amounts of damage for how easy it is. throw focus cancels in there and sakura would be even more deadly because that s.short wouldnt go to EX tatsu but fierce SRK instead. FADC SRK for her leads to extended ground combos. she starts again with the same loop for stupid damage that isnt hard to pull off. if someone as "low tier" as sakura can do that, imagine what sagat, ryu, rufus, balrog, etc would do without damage scaling. the game would be super turbo all over again with TOD combos.

You shouldn't have to explain yourself to people that have no idea what they are talking about. The average player knows how important damage scaling is. Without it, this game would be extremly broken/not fun.

Without damage scaling, I could probably do 600dmg with any character with 2 bars on a punish using the same simple BnB combos I use now.
If you feel that's a good thing, then I guess there's nothing I can say to change your opinion.
But in regards to n00b_saibot - I agree with basically all your points. Also appreciated the ownage you put on that guy complaining that the new MK concept film killed off Johnny Cage. But come on, don't say the Sakura 3x tatsu combo is an easy one. short tatsu->c.FP ain't childplay.
Combo video makers have moved on and so should you.
@ #14 - is it considered hard? honestly, i have trouble with certain links like ryu's c.mp->c.mk or sagats c.lk->c.mp but i can consistently do all sakura's links in match and i only mess around with her on occasion. i assumed they were easy for everyone because i am inconsistent with other links but consistent with one for a character i dont play.
# 17 - damn. but that confirms the sakura stuff i talked about. every few characters in the game can kill seth like that, so if sakura can do that to him then if there was no scaling she would destroy rufus in about 10 hits.

my gripe is they make them useless.. there should be a middle ground. either give everyone more life, or some other factor.. everyone likes doing combos and it isn't the "future" to not have them.
just seems like a waste to have a cool engine and make it useless. i rather the game reward people who took the time to learn how to excecute them.
damage scaling is needed but not to the point where its 10%, i never said it should be 100% damage the entire time.
plus its boring to watch when high level tourney u dont see any crowd please combos, u see the same easy crappy combo everytime cuz thats what the game wants u to do
@ #20 - you're missing the point. everyone goes for the same simple stuff because its gives the most damage, you're right about that. the thing is, there are some stupid easy combos that would kill 1000 life characters if scaling worked like it did in other games. some characters could kill rufus without the severe scaling, and it wouldnt be very difficult at all. they wouldnt be crowd pleasing combos, they would be BS 100% combos. is it crowd pleasing when someone lands AHVB x3 in a MvC2 match? hell no. its pretty damn close to killing the opponent though. how about magneto infinites into tempist->jab->short->gravXXtempist repeated till death? not crowd pleasing, and easy. these are the combos SSF4 would be full of without the scaling that is in place.
