Super Challengers Pack 2, which contains new costumes for Juri, Ibuki, Cody, Adon and T. Hawk, has been released for Super Street Fighter 4. Here's how they look.

Alternative costumes can be downloaded for $3.99 on the PlayStation 3 and 320 Microsoft Points on the Xbox 360.

• Available in pre-order: Super Classic Pack (Guile, Blanka, Dhalsim, Gen, Fei Long)

• Now available: Super Challengers Pack 1 (Hakan, Makoto, Guy, Dudley, Dee Jay)

• Now available: Super Shoryuken Pack (Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Gouken, Dan)

• Now available: Super Beauty Pack (Chun-Li, C. Viper, Sakura, Rose, Cammy)

• Now available: Super Challengers Pack 2 (Juri, Ibuki, Cody, Adon, T. Hawk)

• June 15: Super Brawlers Pack (Zangief, E. Honda, Rufus, Abel, El Fuerte)

• June 22: Super Shadaloo Pack (Vega, Sagat, Balrog, M. Bison, Seth)

• June 29: Super Classic Pack (Guile, Blanka, Dhalsim, Gen, Fei Long)

• July 27: Super Complete Pack (All 35 costumes)

Also, Capcom's Christian Svensson stated that the Super Complete Pack, which contains all 35 outfits bundled into one package, will cost slightly more than the vanilla Street Fighter 4 complete pack, which ran $12.49 or 1,000 Microsoft Points.

Svensson said that the reason for the price increase is because there's an additional 10 costumes included in this download, instead of the original's 25.

i wonder if they would bundle the super and vanilla costumes together. 60 costumes. i'm thinking it would cost around 2000 MS points for that. but man, $20 for costumes is a tough buy

This DLC scheme is kind of silly... since people are waiting for the complete pack, the amount of sales of the other packs will be very tiny.

@ 5
I highly doubt its tiny. Some people (like myself), don't play with every single character nor do the people I play with. If there's a certain costume pack I'm interested in, I'll buy. I'm also sure most people won't want to pay $15-20 for costumes.

That's true, but I play with lots of people and I don't want to be selfish in which characters get to use their extra nice-looking costumes or not.

I guess my experience is not shared.

Well i think the bundle is kinda silly, because I'd just use my money on the costumes for characters I actually like to use(Juri, Ibuki, and Cody in this case). I don't need a costume for dan or el fuerte, I really don't... =.=

Im not a big fan of skins so these skins can wait and wait... knowing that an arcade release is on stone SSFIV will be here for a long time(even with or without an arcade release). Capcom's strategy is to Milk all those who don't have patience; not wanting to wait. Just wait half a year after the whole deal comes out and it will be very similar be like the FIRST set, Under $7.00 for all. I would just play with whatever SSF4 comes with(plus set 1 costume) for now. 6+ months later when they decide to lower SET#2 to under $7. Then i'll grab it and give my SSFIV a fresh update. :)

Capcom could at least add a different finishing animation for Ibuki for their alternative costume, now she is "removing an invisible face cover".... really annoying. Some taunts have this problem too, but they are rarely used by most people anyway (too slow in matches).

I hate how Capcom is milking this. The fee - annoying but OK. But do they really have to release them just 4 at a time over several months with the opportunity to even preorder a freakin $4 costume pack of 4 characters?

Taking the fanboys for quite the ride.

I'm pretty sure that this DLC is already on the game disc, looking at the filesizes. All you're downloading is an unlock for content that's already there. A f*cking disgrace.

@#25/SoulHoe and #27/Hayate1984:

They did it that way so people could still play against someone using an alternate without buying it themselves. Would you prefer the community be split by who bought what and who didn't? Also, while under most circumstances I would consider it a dirty trick to complete content before launch yet charge for it separately, it's my understanding that Microsoft *requires* companies to offer DLC if they want to develop on the XBox 360. So, yeah.

I'm sorry, but...how can Capcom do this? Really? I understand the desire to have a new look, but for Kami's sake....when you have SF4 with 19 characters for $60, and Tekken 6 w/ 40 for the same price, and the fact that you have to pay for those 19 character's costumes...and again, right now, and as for Tekken 6 being able to change up costumes to the point where you could make endless combinations.....man. I just don't get it. I just can't find a reason to buy. Even when you get SSF4, when you put the costumes together, it's $60. No. No way.

(I suppose the moral is if you don't like it don't buy it, but I already knew that....)

You're not crazy, but like a lot of people, you may be confusing two separate ideas: just because there were games in the past for which you did not pay for DLC after the fact, this does not mean that any of the included content was "free." It means it was part the development costs and thus passed on to you, the consumer, with the sticker price. Pretending you ever got any such content for free would be silly.

In SSFIV, rather than include extra material and increase the sticker price to account for its development costs, you are allowed to opt out of the content if you don't want it (or if your mom won't give you a few more dollars, or whatever the reason may be), keeping the sticker price of the game lower. The only part of it that I don't like is the release schedule, because I wish I had all the costumes now.

I've seen a number of alternates in use in tournaments...it depends what trouble they go to in configuring the machines. But having them unlocked on your own personal console wouldn't have anything to do with that anyway...right?

Cody's looks good with the pink shirt and light blue jeans. xtra sexay!

Man I bought the pack yesterday, and it turns out to be pretty lame ingame haha

Ibuki's original is much better, Juri's also. T.Hawk is ugly whatever he wears, but original is not as ugly. Adon's is alright, as well as Cody's, but their original are cool enough.

Oh well it's only a couple of bucks to da trashcan. Like the one for Guy, Makoto etc. When will I learn not to buy this crap? I want Dictator's and Guile's for sure though.

Right, cause those 10KB didn't cost days of developer's and designer's time. And those time didn't cost Capcom any money.

@ CONSTvariable23 #29. You said:

"They did it that way so people could still play against someone using an alternate without buying it themselves."

That's beside the point, which is that the content is already in your ownership once you've bought the game. It's been worked on by developers in good time to make it onto the gold master, yet someone decided it'd be better to charge people for the content rather than offer it up for free.

DLC (and REAL expansion packs and add-ons of yore) used to be something that developers would start working on in the down-time after a finished project, as certain departments would have finished all their tasks ahead of the game's release and essentially have no reason to go to work. So to work on the DLC ahead of time is natural, but to actually complete it in time for it to ship on the game disc raises other questions. *You bought the disc already, shouldn't all the content on there be your own now? *If the developers planned ahead to nickel and dime folks with the content, why not just offer the content up as a digital download? Putting it on the media you already own but in an unusable format is just a taunt and a cocktease.

You said: "Would you prefer the community be split by who bought what and who didn't?"

No, of course not. That's exactly my point: offer such trivial content as this up to folks for free post-release! Almost like a reward for supporting the game. Valve has been doing this for some time on the PC with amazing results. Happy customers are loyal customers, and loyal customers will always buy more of your products if you earn their trust and respect! Charging $4 for a minor cosmetic upgrade is not the way to do that.

You said: "...it's my understanding that Microsoft *requires* companies to offer DLC if they want to develop on the XBox 360. So, yeah."

I think you must be mistaken here. It is indeed a Microsoft-imposed requirement for developers to CHARGE for their DLC on the X360 service, if they want to distribute it, but it's not necessary for them to develop it. Example: Valve has been made to charge for their DLC for games like Team Fortress 2 on the XBL platform by Microsoft, but choose to offer up all this content to customers for free on their own platform, Steam (for the reasons mentioned above).

"Right, cause those 10KB didn't cost days of developer's and designer's time. And those time didn't cost Capcom any money."

Yup, sure it would've cost in research and development to create the content, but still nowhere near proportional to the amount they'll make back from the high price point and the number of sales. They're not developing the content for your sake, or they'd have shipped it for free with the game. And they're not charging for the content to break even either, or the price would be minimal. They're charging for it because they know they can, because they know there's a demand for it and because they know they stand to make a lot of money... even at the expense of pissing off and dividing a lot of the fans that they know would never agree with such an extortionate business model.

At the end of the day guys, they're not charging you for functionality, they're charging you for vanity outfits. If you wanna pay for that, more power to you.

This is good for all of us because the more money Capcom make from Street Fighter, the more actual content we can expect to see (like free tournament DLC).

@ SoulHoe

1. What is a proportional amount? Is there a formula for that? The sellers sets the price and the buyer chooses to buy or not. The only time a buyer sets the price is when it's a controlled item.
2. Of course, they are not developing it for my sake. They are an evil organization out to wring every last cent from me. But they made SSF4 so it's cool with me.
3. I seriously doubt anyone charges to break even when they don't even know how much they are going to sell. They can guess but when your guessing a number that's in the thousands, there is a lot of room for error.
4. They are charging because they know they can and there is a demand for it. Isn't that what everyone does when they want to make a profit? Did you think SSF4 was a charity?
5. Pissing fans off is not enough to get them to care. You got to not buy SF at all before they'll consider making costumes free to sweeten the pot. Your feelings only matter if it includes your wallet.
6.Who exactly is it dividing anyway? Did the costumes caused a Berlin Wall like divide among the players? Is there some discrimination against people who do or don't buy them? It's nothing but internet whining IMHO.

Look, if you seriously think the content should be yours because it was on a disc you bought, please go start a class action suit against Capcom. I honestly prefer to have judges decide on this than the internet.

All I want is when I do pay for these things (I have bought all of the released ones so far), that my data on my 360 MU not get corrupted, so I can't even use them in offline play. Then I have to jump all the way back online go to the download thing, and redownload them all over again.
