Super Battle Opera (Tougeki) is currently holding qualifying tournaments for their national finals, which start in September 2010.
Let's go Momochi! Hopefully you can take the SF3 AND SF4 titles at this year's SBO.
how do they come up with those team names lol.
don't think Daigo's will win. Whoever is hot on that day will take it. 1 game and done rule is fun, but top pros will probably don't like that rule.
No Rufus, hmm, I guess Japanese pros don't really like him.
@MrPavy,
well, if they win, i'm wrong. if they don't win, i'm right.
anybody can random out anybody in Japan tournament.
Sega Arcade Team
Nuki (Chun-Li)
Kokujin (Dudley)
Haitani (Makoto)
Well looks like the other teams can go home.
The 'UNKNOWN' player on Akihabara Club Sega Team is Tuc (Dictator).
Kokujin playing dudley? i cant wait to see those videos of him playing i thought he retired a long time ago
#15 DecoyLogan
That's exactly what I thought haha.
Also, Nemo is playing. Yay.
I wonder, Is Jwong gonna bring a team back for another round?
I like how all SF4 teams have Sagat as a secret weapon.
I've only ever been in singles tournaments.
Is it a standard of team tournaments in general (or just this) that you can't have the same character twice on a team?
@22: Last I heard, Kuroda was retired from 3S due to lack of competition. Considering that he doesn't win SBO every year, I don't know how accurate a statement that is; plus he supposedly also still plays on GGPO. Even if he really did retire, maybe that retirement doesn't include Tougeki. And there's still more qualifiers to come.
@25: Justin was stuck playing Boxer last year, a character he didn't main at that point. I don't know if it was because he DID main Boxer when he qualified for SBO, or it was just that he couldn't pick Rufus because Marn was already playing him. But had he been able to pick Rufus, I think they would've advanced. As it was, Justin was very close on the OCV. But there's nothing unusual about what happened. The Americans usually (but not always) never made it past the first round in 3S either. Pyrolee had that great run one year, and I think Justin/Ortiz might've won a round once.
@Ibuki Its really easy, you just spam the comments of every single blog post with the same exact question until someone pays attention to you...
Dont worry about doing stuff like looking around the site for a link, thats for scrubs.
@MDLG you can check out recent Nemo and Mago SSF4 matches here http://www.youtube.com/user/smoai#p/u...
so the japanese do not play SSF4 for tourny play, if this is true in a way i respect that...Team Nasa and K.O team for 3rd strike to win :D
@#43
SBO is arcade tournament only. there is no SSF4 arcade before SBO.
@#35
Daigo stuck with the randoms?? Uhh.. Wouldn't call those guys Randoms.
And anyways, you qualify as a team, because all the qualifiers are 3v3 matches. So that was Daigo's preformed team going in. It's not like they had a 1v1 tournament at qualifiers, and the top 3 finishers become a 3man team to go to SBO finals.
No one's using the added 10? Would like to see someone using Guy up there.
lol at whoever calls TKD and Bonchan randoms. TKD is probably the scariest player in SF4 ever and Bonchan is pretty good as well.
Is the qualifier for SBO the same as one for the Japan Nationals where there would be tournaments in different regions?
NASA Amusement Park Team
Mago (Sagat)
Nemo (Chun)
Tokido (Akuma)
This team has more star players than Daigo's. If Daigo loses, this team should be the winner for now.
I'm anxiously waiting for Momochi to be announced, and see what team he might be in. xD
Aha... Didn't realize that this was only vanilla. Makes sense.
WTF?! Where the heck is Kindevu?
