Mad Catz has signed a deal with Major League Gaming (MLG), to make a new line of branded fight sticks.Mad Catz Interactive, Inc. announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Major League Gaming Inc. to develop MLG-branded PC and videogame controllers and fight sticks for the professional and high-end consumer gaming markets (“MLG Products”). The multi-year deal gives Mad Catz an exclusive global license to use MLG’s marks in connection with MLG Products developed pursuant to the agreement. In addition, Mad Catz will become a sponsor of MLG Pro Circuit Competitions.
Regardless of the products that come out of this, with this deal it looks like the community is another step closer to getting more fighting games on the MLG competitive circuit.
No way Halo is gonna be played with anything besides a standard gamepad. A move to a dual-stick fightstick would only mean an inevitable move to keyboard and mouse. This is a console FPS and needing keyboard/mouse to stay competitive is the last thing Microsoft would want for a console.
I think the idea is the Mad Catz will make high quality 360 pads for MLG players. I'm not a huge fan of Halo or the likes either, but I'm informed enough to know that there are major problems with the 360 pads Microsoft churns out (not the just the d-pad, look up "slow turning").
I think it's great that MLG is supporting more competitive players, even if they are a part of a community I'm not.
just come out with a stick that has an 8way gate already..
How about teaming up and making a fightPAD that the d-pad doesnt break every few months?
The TE sticks are good to go as is. At least revise the d-pad's rubber or something.
Damn ANOTHER deal? At this point it wouldnt surprise me if MadCatz teams up with Pepsi or Coke to bring us "refreshing" sticks....
