You've probably seen a number of supposed character leak lists for Marvel vs. Capcom 3 at this point, but Capcom's Wes Phillips stepped in today to let people know they're on the wrong track.These supposed "final" Marvel vs. Capcom 3 character lists are inaccurate. No one has nailed it thus far. Stay tuned for the realness.
Backing up this statement, Phoenix Wright was included in most of the character leak lists even though Niitsuma-san said he isn't in the game.
Big surprise. Even as far as "fake leak lists" go, these have been especially horrible. People have still been including Mr. Fantastic on these lists despite the devs themselves confirming that the Fantastic Four will not be playable. Then you have others who would create lists and leave out one or two of the characters that have already been confirmed.
Seems the MvC3 crowd doesn't know how to fake a roster leak. Not like the Street Fighter and Smash Bros. crowds.
Kinda stupid for them to speak out now to confirm these rumors being false. Capcom didn't say anything when the rumor list for ssf4 was leaked nor the rumors regarding mvc3 and sf vs tekken. So when information about their next big project is leaked and capcom doesn't come out and say its false then I guess we can all assume the leaked info are real.
If it ain't on eventhubs it's probably bull$hit. All of the other sites ran with these wild rumors, but it was posted here weeks ago about which chars weren't in the game, if Destructoid and half the other dumb news sites would have looked here they would have known.
Eventhubs predicted the SSF4, TvC chars. They probably got some insider sources at Capcom that feeds them this stuff. So if you don't read about it here it's probably bull$hit.
@5 also you have to realize that even though it is the same company, the same exact team does not handle every game and so every game could be handled a little differently when it comes to little odds and ends like commenting on rumors.
All those lists have been debunked since before Comic-con. There were 2 major "leaked" lists. The first was debunked the minute it was released, as it had Mr. Fantastic and Capcom previously said no one from the Fantastic Four would be in the game. The second list was debunked for sure when they announced Ammy.
I believed the Super Street Fighter IV rumor list, because Hakan sounded stranger than fiction six months before anyone at Capcom even mentioned anything about him, but these Marvel vs. Capcom 3 characters lists have been hard to swallow. Especially considering Capcom doesn't even know how many characters are going to be in the game.
vote for pheonix wright to be in there is still a chance, the creator of the ace attorney series said he would fight for him if enough people wanted him!!!! I WANT TO WIN WITH THE WORD OBJECTION!!!!
It's quite weird Capcom is looking into these leaks. I mean...for SSFIV the rumor list was leaked 8 months before release...but due to alot of the characters being true, they didn't deny the list, nor did they accept the list.
But yes, these list have been alittle far fetched. I agree with some of these other post, that yes, these list for example having Mr. Fantastic on it...knowing full well Super Skrull has all there powers already...that does kill reason for him, or the rest of the Fantastic 4 being in MvC3.
I haven't even seen other diverse characters on these list. I would think they would have a Guile or Charlie for example(charge characters) or some other type of Capcom person that hasn't seen spotlight in a long time. Captain Commando and Strider are examples for MvC1. Jill and...in a weird sense, Marrow(I forgot her name)from MvC2. Arthur for NamcoxCapcom, and Alex for TvC. But...we shall see.
Jill was in MvC2 and so was Roll Neither of them where known for their amazing hand to hand combat abilities and look they were in the game (heck Jill summoned zombies which happened to be her main enemy). Magneto shouldn't even be allowed to fight wolverine without a free instant KO against wolverine. These games are not about canon. If they were All you would need to do is pick Shuma Gorath because he is literallly immortal his health bar would never drain. These games are not about canon. You don't see Magneto stealing other characters guns and shooting them at them, crushing Iron man, or stealing Captain America's shield.
The list could go on forever thanks to Marvel characters and now that we have Dante as well it gets even more ridiculous. These games are about getting all of the fan favorites in one spot giving them unique attacks and letting fans enjoy the mayhem. When you put in a really unxpected character like Phoeb=nix Wright the developers have to get extra creative and that can produce something truly unique. I would much rather have Phoenix in than Ryu and Morrigan.
Obviously, trolls don't play PW or any Ace Attorney games. Pw had a plethora of moves if you actually pay attention to the moves. and for the Obvious, and quite obtuse arguement, "Phoenix fights with paper!" refer to Norimaro, Servbot, Saki from the sim dating game in TVC, Hakushon Diamaou, and Dan from Marvel super heroes vs. Capcom. Thanks for failing today! jk

Pretty much sums it, too many people taking this game waaay too serious, when I seen the trailer for MvC 3 and seen that Chris was up againts the Hulk the first thing I said was BULLSHhhh. I'm pretty sure the development team was aware that technically Chris cannot kill the Hulk, period. He ain't no tyrant.
Point being when you take all the ridiculous matchups in MvC series, adding someone like PW to fight in a fighting game does'nt at all seem strange.
Oh not to mention Roll, and her mop and water pail. Research is key when making an arguement or bashing another character.
@40 Jill set herself on fire and dashed into people and Roll threw explosive flowers at people. Jill's only normal gun based moves were a counter, a slow arcing grenade, and a super with a rocket launcher. Jill had no melee attacks or summons in RE games all of those moves would be...dare I say braind new. That said she was fun to play. Brand new isn't that scary.

Not to side with anyone here, but I'd rather not see Phoenix Wright in a fighting game either. I think it was pretty silly of them to include Frank West in TvC too. I know fans will enjoy him and people may like the way he plays but they could put in different characters with the same moveset that would actually make sense. Just saying.
Why can't they just make up a moveset for Phoenix? Look at Captain Falcon, he was just a race car driver. And look what they did to him in SSB64.

You forget that Saki is part of the Earth defense force in her game and that the Servbots are robots. Also, how would Wright make sense story wise? He doesn't really fit in with the Marvel heroes either. I mean it's hard to see a Normal guy like Wright fighting Dormammu or Thor.
If this was TvC i could see Wright fitting in, but MvsC? I'm not so sure.
Besides, doesn't The Ace Attorney serious mainly show in Nintendo consoles? It would be odd to have him in a game exclusive to PS3 and 360.

listen....this is a game idc if PW doesn't wanna be in the ring.There's alot of people who don't wanna fight the story-wise. A couple of examples: Luigi in ssbb, he's a scaredy cat. Tailim in SC2 she tries to avoid fighting. Frank West. He also a scaredy cat. Doronjo TvC. Im no tatsunoko watcher but judging by her character she doesnt wanna fight she can get the the 2 guys to fight for her. Ibuki, she can go rang out with her friends. Point is, who cares if they don't wanna fight. We just wanna see em fight end of story

Well its not like a CROSS OVER FIGHTING GAME isnt made for the fans or anything.
Lets take the clock back to Mavel vs Capcom. Sweet these characters are awesome. . . wait Roll as in Roll from megaman? A background character with no fighting experience whatsoever is a playable character? no way! different but she somehow works.
Phoenix Wright would be kinda like roll was, Stepping into new ground. Its not impossible to put anyone in a fighting game Roll was proof of that.
And for people that think he would use paper. . . A briefcase makes more sense to me, Paper could be his projectile.
@jme: Get your facts straight bucko, Doronjo does fight(of course you admitted yourself you don't know anything about her) and Luigi is known to save the day too, so that example doesn't work either.

@Dojima: You forget that Roll is a robot, so she can believably be a fighter and the gave her Megaman's moves anyway. You also forget that Wright doesn't fit in with the Marvel heroes , it's hard to imagine him standing next to a god. The story too for that matter, how would they make him work storywise?

@ Struggs - Thank goodness for the leaked rosters being fake; most likely almost everyone believed it from the start. I didn't, especially when they said that they'll have no Fantastic Four characters in this game. And no Megaman? You got to be kidding me. That's a dead giveaway that the roster is fake & that it should be ringing in people's heads, but being the morons that they are, they still followed them.
Plus I don't know that how Phoenix Wright would fit in this game. Even Franziska von Karma herself had a weapon.

Shu Takumi, the creator of Phoenix Wright, has said that even though Phoenix was deconfirmed from the game, if enough fan support is generated, he will fight for a place for him. If we can get word around, everyone's favourite Ace Attorney may be playable in the game!

Oh...what the hell, let's through in Harvey Birdman in the game, instead of PW. Remember, Capcom published a Harvey Birdman title...if you can't have PW...we can always go for Harvey lol.
I can see Seth possibly in the game because of the success of SF4 and SSF4. To me Seth would be like the Capcom side of Super Skrull because both characters stole moves from someone else. By putting Seth in you get rid of shotos-like Dan etc,and Dhalism, as well as Guile. People think he doesn't have original moves but he does he has 2 original moves like the powerful kick and can use gravity on you.
I could care less about Phoenix Wright not being in this game, but I AM greatly disappointed at the fact that Power Stone isn't getting any kind of representation. I thought that Falcon would've been a shoe in (If any Power Stone characters were to be included, we all know it would've been him). He's from a FIGHTING game after all, so his moveset could've been derived from that. How could they please the Okami fans (Nothing against Ammy, mind you. I like her) but not the Power Stone fans?!
They could've gotten so many more people on board for this game had they included at least ONE character from Power Stone. But no, they ignore one of their most popular franchises with the most dedicated fan base yet again. It's really a big slap in the face for us.
Don't get me wrong, I'm still hyped like crazy for this game. But this "no Power Stone" issue just frustrates me to no end.
