3DS version of Super Street Fighter 4 might use 3D effect for special moves Andria Sang translated a Famitsu interview with Capcom's Yoshinori Ono that offers some new details about the upcoming release of Super Street Fighter 4 on Nintendo's 3DS.

If you're interested in playing SSF4 on a portable, this is worth looking over. Here's a snip.

3DS players can expect a few superficial changes to the gameplay. While Ono said that they're not planning on making balance adjustments, there could be some control changes. They're seeing if they can do anything with the bottom screen and the slide pad. Currently under consideration are such things as putting special buttons on the lower screen and placing special attacks on the slide pad.

The game could see some original content as well. Space willing, they'd like to keep all the modes from the console Super SFIV in place here, said Ono. This includes wireless play, with the staff hoping to make use of their knowhow from implementing wireless play in the home version. Additionally, in order to keep players motivated, they're hoping to include original content, and are even looking into the possibility of including arranged costumes.

Separate from the interview, Famitsu confirmed that all 35 console warriors will appear in the game. It also confirmed that the Saving Attack, Ultra Combo and other such systems will be in place.

Looks pretty cool.

But I still wanted to see those so-called "real screenshots" that were shown at Comic-Con's Street Fighter panel. :/

Buttons on the lower screen sound like a bad idea, but could make things bearable if its just for PPP and KKK, since trying to hit two face buttons and a trigger simultaneously is annoying. Glad to see all the fighters will be making it back. I feared this would be watered down significantly but now it doesn't seem so. I could care less about the 3D, just give us online and I'll be happy.

@BlackHart

Well the 3DS is more powerful than the PSP so...yeah.

Anyway, I'm glad to see all the modes and characters are making it over. Hopefully the slider can be used as a d-pad because I heard it is a lot better than the PSP's thumbstick, which was already pretty good.

I think having the PPP and KKK on the bottom screen would be great too.

releasing things for the psp is pretty much suicide for any company that wants to make money Lol

For people complaining about the lack of a psp version, remember that piracy is rampant on that system, and that it has the least amount of units sold of the big 5.

I'm hyped for this.

I wonder if viper is going to be totally ignored in this iteration for lack of a stick.

I tried to learn her on a pad and, well... lets just say no bueno lol.

@13 He means that the better players might ignore C. Viper as a character, because she has some links that are a nightmare to pull off, especially without an arcade stick.
