All of them except Chun-Li and Cammy seem to centered around attire typical of the fighters' home countries in some capacity. Rufus's is a biker outfit, you can tell because of the Perfecto-style leather jacket.
I was this close to saying "what the bell" and buying both of the complete packs, but I think I'll wait yet again. I hope they do a pack with every single costume at an even more reduced price.

They need to just give everyone a Cool alt and funny alt, Instead of all of these retarded things. Some are nice ideas, but then others are just horrible and don't make me want to spend 5 bucks on them what so ever. If they are gona charge us for these, they really need to step their game up. They put so much into consideration for the game, then it's like time to slack off for the DLC.

I'm glad somebody said it before I did. All the r3tards here like to mouth off without knowing anything. Whether you like the costume or not you should appreciate the fact that capcom did at least a LITTLE research on brazilian culture, unlike the morons that have been posting so far. They did it for a reason, a reason that makes sense. Also, the japanese are not known for their understanding of other cultures, so it's surprising that they did such a good and detailed job, you bunch of ingrates.

People, I actually have a question besides complaining/rejoicing about some of the characters alts. In the article it says:
"Since these new outfits have a fall 2010 release date, and unless the technology has changed, or these are on the disc some where, there should be a DLC update that everyone must grab to view them."
So does that mean that if I don't buy any of the alts (which I wont) does that mean when I'm about to play somebody online and they pick one of these new alts, we'd get disconnected? Segregating the community is not a good thing Capcom.

should've just gave him jeans, a t-shirt, batsu(rival schools)'s gloves and sneakers, or ryo hazuki(shenmue)'s clothes. even if that's generic, it would've fit ryu much better IMO

Ono has said that any update would be free if it would effect core gameplay or separate the community otherwise. What I assume is going to happen is that the characters will be a free DLC (that's been hinted at before) and the update will include the data for the costumes, but you must pay to actually use the costumes just like the others.

It does seem like a lot to do for free, but Capcom seems pretty apprehensive about diving the community into one group of people who have the update and another group of people who don't have the update, and the two groups not being able to play against eachother online. I just hope after everyone has shelled out so much money for costumes, Capcom throws us all a bone and gives us the characters for free. I'd say it's a good $25 from each person who bought all of the costumes, and a good majority of people I've met bought at least one pack.

Hope you're wrong, paying for new costumes and whatnot is one thing, but paying extra bucks on top of the retail price for a complete roster in a fighting game would be like a slap in the face IMO.
We'll be entering dangerous territory if fighting games start pulling out this kind of sh*t, next thing will be paying for a special move or something. Sadly this seems to be a general trend in the game industry, I just hope fighting games wont follow that route.

ryu - jeans and a scruff tshirt, trainers
ryu - evil theme white eyes dark skin akuma death symbol beads white hair etc
ken - trousers, rolled up shirt and shoes with a watch on CEO look
chun li - the yellow night gown she wore in the cartoon when she fought vega (claw)
blanka - human look, human skin, with some sort of gee on???

STILL no ninja/Geki costume for Vega. Now it goes...
1.) Vega the Cage Fighter.
2.) Vega the Matador.
3.) Vega the Nobleman.
4.) Vega the Spaniard.
Maybe #5 will be Vega the Ninja. I just hope. The new alt looks nice, although it looks a bit too similar to his first alt with the poofy shirt.

@101: How could you see the costumes without the data on their system? You'd have to either download it as a one-time patch, or download each costume temporarily as you play them, or download each costume one-at-a-time as you play against each new costume. You can't see the costumes if the data isn't some-how on your system.

Spain havs a very touch and go relationship with and having a Spanish national wear the attire of an Englishman wouldn't make a lick of sense beside to look cool, which obviously isn't the point of this DLC pack, it's about their culture. So in that sense No, it can't look like guy fawkes.
He's more likely to dress up like Cervantes(a fellow Spanish character) first.

dhalsim- blehh, alt 1= oro, alt 2= has some moneyz, alt 3= beggar/peasant? lol
deejay- pretty cool, but might stick to alt 1
vega (claw)- alt 1 except w/ a hat lol
gief- pretty cool.. but wouldnt get it

blanka- wtfffff haha.. but cool, kinda a more fancy version of fuerte's alt 2
rufus- looks pretty sweet. but alt 2 is still bomb.

Gah, damn it! I almost had a heart attack when I saw Ryu's new alternate.
But other than that, these are fine, I suppose. The ones I really like are Zan's and Hakan's. Adon's seems cool, but I can't see very much of that alternate. I just hope Blanka's doesn't affect his hitbox. XD

-They should have butt naked Gen this time around, or at least dress him like the guy in Tienamen square, grocery bags and all
-Does Adon have a Cloth over his eyes....pretty cool if he fights blind.
-They should take it one step further and make Ken the guy with the Taxi Cab hat from the village people
-I have never used R Mika in my life, but i would love to see those pendulous breasts in 3D
-If they add Oro, I think it would only be natural if they put him in a business suit

@#123 These outfits from what am looking at is supposed to reprisent there culture except ryu dont know what hes supposed to look like but it aint good i can tell u that and chun lis legs being fat shes always had thick legs whether there musculer or just plan thick there always going to be huge weapons of destruction thats what makes her unique to put it simple if her legs arent thick then it aint chun li point blank. also alpha chun li= pure HOTTNESS! nuff said.

I'm sorry, but I'm not feeling Ryu's outfit. I think him in jeans/white T-Shirt/Shoes would fit nicely (like, from Street Fighter II V animated series).
Blanka is just weird, although I realize it represents his home country.
I like Zangief, Chun-li, Adon, and Hakan's outfits. Cammy not so much...would like Delta Red more.

I pretty much like all of them. Ryu's may not be great, but it's better than his current ones imo. Alpha Chun Li is nice, but her super thunder thighs ruin it D=
