A new Game Informer article claims that Capcom will be creating a Capcom vs. Namco fighting game based on the Street Fighter 4 engine and Namco will be making a similar title based on the Tekken 6 engine. The rumors all surrounded Tekken vs Street Fighter....but a Namco Vs Capcom?! That'd be one insane piece of
news if it turns out to be true. I'd be doing backflips.
Oh and I hope KOS-MOS makes the roster. She was in Namco X Capcom so it's possible. Lol her Lv.3 would be her X-Buster ridiculousness.
I'll be playing both version cause I like both of the games. I want to see how each company represents the other in their own engines.
That is what really intrigues me. Seeing Ryu in a true 3d game and Jin confined to a 2d arena.
Maybe the left side of Ono's picture is Ryu in nvc and the right side is Jin in cvn! That would make total sense.
I'll be happy as long as I can have Taki from the Namco side. :D
vs namco is a kool idead. They have a lot of games to take characters from, including naruto and dragonball if they so chose.
@Strider
Vega has a weapon
BUT i hope for PAC-man and SOME characters from DBZ and Naruto.
BUT WAIT IF THERE GOING TO MAKE THIS THEN WHATS THE POINT IN MAKING DARKSTALKERS 4 WHEN U CAN PUT THEM IN THIS GAME.(NOW THERE SOMETHING TO THINK AND COMMENT ABOUT)
I can't believe some of you don't have enough imagination to see characters with weapons in these games. Hell its been done to death already in MVC2 and CVS2. Some characters only had weapons, things like that don't really matter in 2D fighter.
https://twitter.com/History_Asunder
This guy knows Ono somehow? Can we get a translation?
Namco made both Pac Man and Dig Dug... I hope characters from those games are in there. lol
I can see Pac Man eating a fireball.
Fascinating, but at the same time as MVC3? (Unless they're mimicking releasing SSF4 at the same time as TVC, but those were two different consoles...although nothing's tied it exclusively to the 360/PS3 yet...)
Not that I wouldn't buy this. I'm hype, just doubting the credibility a bit with MVC3 is all.
Unless Namco's got some characters with fireballs, Capcom wins this one hands down. But then they could bring in the parry from Tekkan to even things up. Either way as long as Ryu ain't fighting no Dinosaur again this may fill in the CVS2 esq game gap that would complete the new trifecter.
I agree with L45R. Tekken's gameplay is totally different than SF. Tekken is more of a ground game where jumping is VERY LIMITED and countering is all you do. You look for counters (side stepping and such) to start these juggling combos. On the other hand, SF is all around. Jumping, fireballs and commmand throws. SF's countering system is basically looking moves that has the most recovery frames and then punish if not done safely. Not to mention SF is a 2D game and has super bars. Is Namco going to give their characters Super Moves? Also unlike the CvS series, both games are 2D and the fact SNK (KoF) uses 5 buttons and SF uses 6, it wasn't a big transition. If, somehow, Capcom and Namco can make this happen, I really hope the gameplay will follow very similar to SF and not Tekken. If it's like Tekken, I can guarantee you only Tekken fans would be the only ones playing it because we all know how 3-D SF bombed.
@FarkAydeGhil420: "...as long as Ryu ain't fighting any dinosaurs I'm fine with that." haha I was thinking about how that game bombed while I was writing my comment.
@#55 Strider
I disagree. Turning a non-fighter character into a fighter tends to be actually easier than creating a new character, or taking one from a completely different mechanic.
Non-fighters are basically developed characters (i.e. they have appearance, personality, backstory already done) where you can fit in any attack you wish, because people have really vague expectations of what they should do. If you asked a Dead Rising fan what Frank West should be like in a fighting game, he'd say stuff like "it should involve zombies!", not "his strong attack should be this particular punch that must have fast startup and combo into this other exact special".
Compare that to porting a Tekken fighter to Street Fighter: if King can't do a sheetton of damage on a single grab combo, people will moan. If the Tekken characters can't juggle out of jabs, Tekken players won't recognize this as an acceptable game. (Same thing on the other side: nobody will accept a game that bears the SF name if Ryu isn't there or he can't spam projectiles.) Trying to conceal that with the mechanics of SFIV while remaining balanced could be a lot more challenging.
I really don't see how Capcom vs. Namco would be a stretch from a gameplay perspective. There are plenty of non-fireball characters in the SF canon. You'd just have the Tekken characters act more like Fei Long or Zangief than Dhalsim or Ryu. Not to mention that Namco has a fairly deep library of games they could draw on for different characters. I'd see it more of adopting the character images and backgrounds to a game with a re-envisioned moveset rather than adapting the characters straight out of Tekken/etc.
I'm way more confused as to how Namco vs. Capcom would play.
@55
It's not about getting the characters into the same game, about pleasing both Tekken fans and Street Fighter fans with familiar gameplay.
The reason why people play Tekken is that they enjoy 3D Fighters.
The reason why people play Street Fighter is that the enjoy 2D Fighters.
If Namco vs SF were to become a Fighting game, it would have to be either 2D (where you can jump around and cross people up) or 3D (Where you can side step).
Either way I know that one set of fans will be happy and the other will be disappointed which is why I wouldn't get my hopes up about this being good.
Then you have balance and tier issues...?!
Tekken 6 is very balanced and it's taken 2 games for SSF4 to be balanced.
Basically, don't get your hopes up. I personally feel that Namco/Capcom would've shot themselves in the foot if the pursue this project.
@Strider:
It's not the fact it's hard or easy to transfer a 3-D character to a 2-D realm. It's the fact one side (Namco or Capcom) will have to change to their rival's gameplay. Like Lolento said, if Tekken characters can't do their typical juggle combos off a jab then Tekken players will hate it. If SF players can't spam fireballs, do spds with Gief, mix-ups with their fav characters, SF players will then find it unacceptable. The main problem, I think, is the middle point where both Tekken and SF players would find the gameplay acceptable and to have both sides enjoy it.
Wow. I actually agree with strider. But as far as character wise from Namco....put in Gilgamesh, Taki, Stahn and Reiju and this game would be fuego automatically.
@TRON
That's a fan Shop job. All the images are re-used from previous media.
@JoseRufus @shinakka
Thanks.
What gives with the following tweet with the character shadows? It looks like the same thing here:
http://vixagri.deviantart.com/#/d2tnb7e
Anybody know what this is about?
Hmph Why not, im game. Make as many fighters as possible.
I play tekken and Street Fighter so basically it's two of my favorite worlds coming togeather.
Yeah I think it's true seeing as how Ono and the Tekken PRoducer (Forgot his name) was on the same stage at EVO (Couldn't make out the translation on what they were saying though). But apparently ther was a reason behind them being there at the same time (Possibly a secret meeting about the current development about hte game, remember Ono said he was running late for EVOhmmm).
As I said before, why not, go for it Ono just don't screw up.
@66
"If it's on the SFIV Engine it will be for the SF Gameplay and so, for the SF fans."
1. If it's just for the SF fans then they may as well just create Tekken DLC characters for SSF4. There wouldn't be any point of creating a whole new game.
2. If it was just for the SF fans the would be no point of putting the name Tekken or Namco in the Title of the game.
It's like saying MvsC 2 only appeals to people who like SF and not Marvel.
-_-
READ THIS:
In the article above it says:
"Capcom will be creating a Capcom vs. Namco fighting game based on the Street Fighter 4 engine and Namco will be making a similar title based on the Tekken 6 engine."
THAT means, there will be a Streetfighter-like Capcom game, with characters from Namco (like Tekken, Soul Calibur...) developed by Capcom.
AND, there will be a Tekken-like game, with Characters from Street Fighter and other Capcom games, developed by Namco.
That makes TWO different games, with the same cast, but different fighting engine.
DO YOU GUYS GET IT NOW?
TWO games !!
@73 & @74
Don't fall for it. It's recycled information.
The GI article practically took the rumor right off of the message boards. They don't actually verify where they got it from, they just now got wind of the original rumor that was started by "TheKartel". They are just now getting the news late and re-telling it another way.
Ono himself has already debunked a lot of recent myths about this. Since GI is more popular than TheKartel, the rumor they just heard and re-told just exploded to absurd proportions.
GI probably invented "two games" rumor themselves to enhance the speculation. From a logical point of view, it would be just plain stupid to announce 2 more VS-type games when MvC3 hasn't even been finished.
This confusing Namco rumor is already stealing all the thunder from MvC3 and it isn't even finished.
We should coin a new term for this: "Parasitic Rumor"
lol it was clear from day it was this title in the making! cant wait! i think it will be a great game!
http://twitpic.com/26zviz/full
What's the JP text peeking out in the background, can anyone translate?
@80: Not the text. There is a tiny image in the top right corner. Not sure what it is though.
i wonder if we will get some mario kart arcade characters in there lol...... soul cal and tekken vs street fighter and darkstalkers...... Super Oh..... right in my pants..... this is an awesome cross over if youre not excited youre not a fighting game fan and if you dont have enough faith in these two companies to make this ish really good you got trust issues
the sf4 engine sucks. Thats just gonna make the tekken people suck, there is no such thing as short cuts and crouch teching in tekken. I bet the tekken verison will be better. THere verison of the sf character models will prob look tons better.
I guess the character roster will began soon. Blanka versus kuma ftw.
This is freakin awesome. I would love if it plays similarly to CvS2. Its just like earlier this decade where we had 3 big Capcom fighters for everyone to enjoy. MvC2, CvS2 and 3s. Except now its MvC3, CvN and SSF4. I'm already hyped from just two games. Just imagine how big future Evos are gonna get. Almost too much to handle.
Gee wis why does everyone thinks that namco only = tekken. That's like saying capcom only = street fighter when clearly they have none fighting game characters in their vs series and its the same with namco. They have xenosaga, tales of games, and others
@85: You talking about the big main pic?.. Cause that is obviously Juri. I'm not that blind. =P
I'm talking about the top "Right" corner. The darker part, which looks like a face. Just saying, since Yoshi tends to hide things in his pics.
@91: Thanks. Might be nothing, just curious, that's all. =]
i think EVERYBODY is forgetting a few things.. First off tekken was originally a 2d fighting game even though it was always in 3d, so the transition to 2d shouldnt be that hard . Second off the FIRST time tekken did 3d fighting I.E Tekken 3 it was and still is considered the BEST tekken and one of the greatest fighters of all time, so them doing a 3d SF wouldnt be too hard for them to get right considering the enormous success the achieved out the gate. The only problem when translating the games would be their button inputs as tekken is a limb button layout while SF is a six button lay out. but considering either way it goes you only got four limbs anyway and tekken has different levels of attack for the same button so yeah.. and thanx to the great one KING the inputs for SF wouldnt be lost in the iteration
cant believe there going threw with this. snk characters fit so much better what they gona give tekken characters fireballs now this is gonna be wack im dissapointed with this idea. never liked tekken n never will game has bad graffixs n a horrible fight engine. how much longer do we have to wait for darkstalkers
I was kind of into it until someone mentioned Namco has the Dragonball Z and Naruto franchises under their lable, f--k no.
for capcom i ask for r mika, rose, morrigan, demitri, jill valentine and cammy..if its NAMCO then i ask for ivy, talim, sophitia, lili, and yoshimitsu. but if its just tekken then i ask for lili and yoshimitsu. any of these people will make me happy..(but please i mainly want rose morrigan lili and ivy) (:
I like the idea of the playfield type being controlled through gameplay - like if, say, the Tekken characters could burn meter to switch things up to a 3D playfield and the Street Fighter characters could do the same to lock the playfield in 2D...with each being relatively stronger or weaker in their specific environment.
@94 tekken has amazing graphics(but i guess realistic graphics dont sit well with everybody) its the sf4 graphics that look like crap but thats IMO. regardless mixing a 3d game with a 2d game is retarded just add snk like #94 stated above me. REAL TALK tekken has a much more complex figting engine. id rather see CVS3
.......Ono hasn't answered my simple question, which was "what color is the head band in http://p.twipple.jp/U9ADL
@98 are you kidding?! Tekken 6 graphics are just a polished version of tekken 5 and that's sad considering the face that back in 06 they showed a teaser for ps3 of what tekken 6 was suppose to look like.
Sfiv graphics are nice I have no complains. They look even better on a high resolution tv.
If the rumors end up true I hope it ends up looking nice graphic wise I know the gameplay is gonna be a big WTF?!
I look forward to this. I'd rather see a game in motion before I claim "it'll suck", anyway.
Rumors substantiated by rumors that were proven correct by speculation based on pre-existing rumors.
And people are actually believing it?
The fighting game community has hit an all-time low. Dare I say now even lower than the Halo, Naruto and Touhou fanbases combined.
This is the dumbest idea ever... They are making 2 games, both using the same engines their current games are using, with random characters from different franchises thrown in... HOW did they thing this would be a good idea....?!
"Hmm, Super Street Fighter 4 is pretty good BUT wouldn't it be even more awesome if Ryu could fight against Pac-Man!!!"
@#105 YES! Guilty Gear vs. Street Fighter would be way better then this! And at least there a bit closer in style/gameplay compared to say, Tekken or Soul Calibur...
i hope its namco vs capcom that would be a worthy game
Namco Bandai is not just Tekken and soul calibur
for me i'm more excited about characters from the tales series
and they can even have characters from dragon ball and naruto for projectile shooting people (kamehameha vs hadoken ?) since namco bandai has the rights for them ..
pac man should be able to eat fireballs
Thanks to this site, I knew about...
Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for PSN & XBLA in advance,
Super Street Fighter IV in advance,
the characters in Super SFIV in advance,
the "Special surprise" for owning Vanilla in advance,
Marvel vs. Capcom 3 in advance,
& now if it's true, THIS in advance.
Either there are some damn good finders of information on Eventhubs.com or Capcom is the worst company at keeping secrets EVER!
I know these are rumors. I just think it would be interesting to see.
@109 dont you mean the other way around. because so far namco has yet to ruin their flagship fighting franchise. And if you say Soul Calibur is Namco's Flagship franchise, Please SHUT THE ENTIRE FUKK UP. To anyone who is a true SF player SF4 was the biggest letdown that series has ever gotten, even worse than EX
This is gonna suck d1ck.
If Tekken chars go into SF they're gonna get raped and Tekken guys are gonna be mad.
The exact opposite is gonna happen with the SF chars.
This is retarded and pointless if we're going to see games where the foreign characters get wreaked.
Between these two games and what we've already seen in fighting games this year, I am one very happy consumer.
If you want a new game whats the point of putting Namco and Capcom characters in it? Why not just make a new series instead of pissing everyone off by making a game that plays nothing like the games they're from?
It's gonna be Tekken in SF and SF in Tekken anyways so who cares.
well, i thought about it, and i think my previous post (72) makes perfect sense.
just imagine:
these two games got totally different fighting engines. but it would be possible for capcom to implement, say jin, into a SSF4 engine. well, he got no fireballs, who cares? fei got none too. and SF-fanbase wouldn´t feel like their game was messed up, coz it´s basicaly the same engine with additional fighters from namco.
on the other hand, it wouldn´t be that hard for namco to implement, say fei, into the tekken engine. creating the model is done quick, adding sidestep, adding juggle, finished. first character done, some more to go...
okay, there was another thing pointed out, the 5 vs 6 button layout. well, in SF we got 3 kicks and 3 punches, tekken uses limbs. just remember dudley or boxer, they "punch" even with kick buttons. so that won´t be a problem to just let the tekken characters hit with light, middle or strong punches or kicks, adjusted to the engine, and they could keep their moveset. even SF characters don´t allways hit with their right fist, or left foot. i hope you get my point...
for the tekken engine, well, just make the SF characters use their limbs, like the engine does. for exapmle: ryu, qcb + leftkick or rightkick = hurrican kick. who really cares if he uses his left or right foot to kick your face? ^^ remember TvC? there is only low, middle, strong "attack", not even punch or kick.
a lot of text, i know. but if you think about it, it makes perfect sense. maybe you just have to think "out of the box".
finally, another point: what is BIGGER than street fighter when it comes to fighting games? the answer is: NOTHING right now.
if i remember correctly, ono said this is bigger than street fighter. so, the conclusion is: what could be bigger? capcom vs. namco and namco vs. capcom using there respective engines would definitely be BIGGER then (super) street fighter 4 right now!!

@141
Today, we either dub you as master of misunderstanding and irrationality or you can realize that just for such a title to be announced, it would automatically screw all the work and effort Capcom put into and are going to continue putting into MvC3.
Earth to hopefuls: It's not that it's as much a bad concept as it is absolutely horrible timing. Capcom runs the risk of shooting themselves in the foot, balls and face for repeatedly teasing fans with the darkstalkers series and potential future updates for SFIV.
If they were wasting time with Developing something other than SFIV, Darkstalkers or MvC3-related material, then the fighting game community (and primarily capcom fans/consumers/supporters) is(are) going to be incredibly pissed at capcom for quite a few years.
@#65 Strider, @#72 Goosticks
Nobody expects the characters to behave exactly like in their original games, but their essence HAS to remain.
Think, for example, Ryu in the Marvel series: the dude got a huge laser beam and an air projectile. That's adaptation. But he's still got his hadouken, shoryuken, tatsumaki, all with their original motions and general characteristics, even if the fireball is now huge.
Or Ryu in SvC Chaos. The art style is very different, the feeling of the jumps has changed, yet he can still cancel his normals into specials to perform traditional combos.
Likewise, the feeling of a Tekken character is to be able to juggle out of jabs. This is one of the most basic aspects of its combo system, and you can't just take it away to make the character fit into another game engine.
wasn't there a countdown on www.arcsystemworks.jp leading to the same date Ono was supposed to give his announcement
coudln't it be another crack at Sammy vs Capcom?
as for the Capcom vs Namco (read: *not* StreeFighter vs Tekken), that would be interesting.
if they were to do a sf/capcom vs tekken, that would be...interesting in a not so 'ZOMG!' kind of way. SF never made a 3D game like Tekken or Soul Caliber, it's always been in the style of Rival Schools, where you still had SF9style jump-ins, supers, etc, with a little sidestep (or heavy sidestepping in the sense of Rival Schools, depending on your playstyle).
tekken just seems to be too 'realistic' in the sense of short hops and no projectiles, but instead left and Right normals and a string of button presses for combos, and jab/off-the-ground juggles/combos. but i can see capcom working things out, tho... but i'd imagine the game leaving a bad taste in my mouth. lol
CvS3 would be way more worth it, but that's just my opinion.
I'm hoping for a Sammy vs Capcom or ArcSystemWorks (or whatever other name they'd want to insert here) vs Capcom.
but then again, Arc System only has 2 fighters, it seems: Guilty Gear and BlazBlue. they have others like Dragon Ball Z, and some more obscure titles they could throw in, so ArcSystem may not be prolific enough to merit a Capcom crossover, but then again, we have Tatsunoko.
either way, i think Arc's countdown page www.arcsystemworks.jp is worth considering.
If it's true, I want to see Raphael from Soul Calibur.

Wait. Are you saying I can use a Jackie Chan character in SF mechanics?
That would be f**king epic.
sorry guys but i think this rumor is false i mean think about it they just made tvc and mvc3 is gonna be out in a year why make another vs game it this rate they would be competing with them self unless the playing style is complete different than the ssf4 and mvc3 this seem like a mistake to me
That doesn't mean much. Capcom Vs SNK was released in the same yr as MVC2.
Ideally, I would like to see Namco work on a 3D crossover Tekken versus Capcom title, while Capcom produces a 2.5 Darkstalkers sequel making use of the SSF4 engine. I could do without a Capcom-produced 2.5D Tekken crossover.
What do you think of this?
"@109 dont you mean the other way around. because so far namco has yet to ruin their flagship fighting franchise. And if you say Soul Calibur is Namco's Flagship franchise, Please SHUT THE ENTIRE FUKK UP. To anyone who is a true SF player SF4 was the biggest letdown that series has ever gotten, even worse than EX"
I seriously hope you're joking. SF4/SSF4? The game that has recieved international acclaim and is literally played all over the world? The game that 2000+ players entered at evo. The game that pretty much brought the fighting game scene this far?
You're an idiot. Keep talking 12 year old.
Some people are forgetting about Namco cross Capcom. Namco does have other games than just Tekken you know. And in NxC, 3D characters like Jin, Heihachi, Taki, Mitsurugi and King made a very nice 2D transition. Not limiting that but some Tekken (and Soul Calibur) characters do have projectiles in a limited capacity. Jin/Heihachi can power up with lighting, Yoshimitsu has his Bad Breath attack, Taki has Ninpou.
On the flip side, Capcom characters aren't just limited too Street Fighter and Darkstalkers. Everyone forgot Cyberbots, Rival Schools and Star Blade? All 3D fighters from them, not only that, but SF characters in their bare skills minus the fireballs, origin from actual martial arts. Chun-Li has Tai Chi, The Shotos have karate and Zangief has wrestling. I can literally go on forever on the pro and cons on this.
This is why we can't have nice things. Ever.
I don't like this idea, in fact I hate it. What a way to say thank you to your fans by skipping over all of your other IPs to make the lamest Capcom VS ever. I hope this isn't true. If your not going to create another Darkstalkers, Rival Schools, Plasma Sword, Power Stone and etc...before this piece of burning s**t, than f**k you now and forever Capcom. I'm taking this personal.
Worst idea for a Vs game EVER! They should stick with CVS3.

Look at the product placement in the background. Two games worth of the most expensive costing product placement in the history of gaming. They could literally sell two copies and they already broke even.
Plus, from the looks of it, they could do an Ehrgeiz-type of game and throw both games mechanics out. I'm not saying I like Ehrgeiz, but I think we can expect one of these companies to take this as an opportunity to make totally new mechanics.
P.s. Does it bother anybody that they said Rufus and Juri and the rest of the new guys grow on you and really FEEL like old street fighter, when the only one that really does - Abel - is the one they keep putting in the crossovers?
@185 I dont understand what you mean are you trying to say at some point in time they said that all the new characters will grow on us and it will become the new street fighter..... I could have sworn we already have that game.
and abel is new to 4 and vet to SSF4 only complete new characters are hakan and juri to the series
even if those pics are shoped, they look pretty dam good. thats how abel should have looked in 4.
I would be absolutely surprised if even one of the games turns out to be good. Just because Tekken and Street Fighter is as different as the two sides of the world. Well, it would be interesting. Lol, imagining Ryu doing those crazy Tekken combos is pretty cool though.
for those think the namco vs capcom will interfere with the other vs games ie marvel etc it wont as it will be a different type of game it will be more like sf4 rather than a marvel vs game im not a big fan of marvel vs i do like it but find it all a bit to hectic i think i would prefer namco vs cap
and all those that have preconception saying this is the worst idea ever... lets just wait and see! i gotta feeling its gonna be a good game!
Why can't everyone just wait til the weekend to unleash the verbal fury? All we saw was what appears to be Ryu and a swirl. I say just wait until the weekend to send your vicious non lethal comments here. Until then, just speculate without it truly turning ugly just yet...
@183, jesus, you're quite the idiot. Look at this image, does this guy look 5? http://i660.photobucket.com/albums/uu...

Stop it. This is getting embarassing.
They already got proven inaccurate days ago. ArcadeUFO is only recycling information that they picked up from the online rumor spread thanks to TheKartel. Games have to be 100% complete before any Arcades can be known about their cabinets being made available for shipping. Considering this rumor just started, if there was such a game, no arcades anywhere would have any knowledge yet.
And anybody's 'little birdie' can just be some other moron's 'twitter'. This is absolutely the most pitiful display of straw grasping I've seen in my entire life.
#194
AHHHHH! the good ones always are. Still, I think we're looking at a different-styled fighter from either company.
#199
Except for the part that it's not happening. Read all the details backwards and backtrack on them from the current events:
-GI re-printed the rumor after it swelled up with their own original information added to it based on what was seen on the message boards.
-Message boards recycled the rumors between SRK, Twitter, Gamefaqs, Eventhubs, 4chan, Capcom-Unity, and a handful of other sites, causing an artificial swell of a real rumor.
-Ono mentioned that there was a hint about the 'secret announcement' in his more recent tweets. (check the video for proof)People at Evo automatically jumped to suspect and demand darkstalkers, but people on message boards got the wrong idea based on a rumor started perpetuated by the ArcadeUFO tweet. (Ono's secret tweet turned out to be this: http://twitpic.com/235lto but people are still ignoring it.)
-ArcadeUFO posted a tweet based on the growing rumor surrounding the information hinted at by TheKartel and buzzing Message boards.
-Message Boards were speculating about the information in question on TheKartel as the site has no (Read: Zero) reputation for being a credible source of information prior to this. It was never made clear if they even knew the difficulties involved.
-TheKartel made a post about a Rumor that was left unsubstantiated on 4chan. A single user had been repeatedly spamming an old image of Ono and Harada on stage, insinuating that there could be a crossover between the 2 companies based on it despite the fact that everybody else knew that there was nothing of the sort taking place. It was merely a press event about Namco and Capcom recently refreshing the Fighting Genre. The user got banned for making conspiracy theories and TheKartel took the story seriously without checking the facts.
Where is the source?
There never was one to begin with. It's a phantom theory. The rumors are only substantiated by more rumors and backed up by misinterpretations.
http://p.twipple.jp/uHUrP
"A lot people ask me 'Can the rumor be true?' :P That sounds interesting. :D It's difficult to substantiate."
Another twitter from Ono. What is behind the toys? It seems to be a book bound in a plastic bag/packaging. It says Super Street Fighter IV in the center with some additional Japanese text below. Can someone translate?
Pretty good indication this game won't happen.
On Ono's Twitter.
"Now, I called Harada-san as Tekken Project Leader. He was laughing about Rumor."
this would be absolutely terrible omg especially in 3d playstyle just awful
