Image shows trailer for new Street Fighter game?

Capcom's Yoshinori Ono added a new photo to his Twitter account that might be the first offering concerning the big fighting game announcement he's planning on making at Comic-Con, which takes place from July 22-25.

On the left hand side, you can see Ryu, and on the right it appears to be ink swirls that were so commonly shown with the Street Fighter 4 series trailers. Ono said he was working on a clip to show at Comic-Con, and this is very likely a sneak preview of it.

Also, Yoshinori will be speaking on the Street Fighter panel at Comic-Con, and the itinerary might offer some clue as to what he plans on announcing at the show. It reads:

12:00-1:00 Street Fighter Mania!: SSFIV and Beyond! — Producer Super Street Fighter IV producer Yoshinori Ono shares his thoughts on SSFIV and presents his exciting vision for the future of the franchise. Experience why everyone can’t get enough of Street Fighter! Featuring Seth Killian, Street Fighter special adviser. Followed by a Q&A session. Room 25ABC

All signs are pointing at another fighting game title from Capcom, involving the Street Fighter characters in some way, on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, considering that both controllers are shown. And if the ink swirls are any indication — likely another game in the Street Fighter 4 series.

i think its gonna be a casual street fighter game which is designed for being played with MS's kinect, playstation's move or even nintendo's wii!!!

Do you guys seriously want another Street Fighter already, making the current SSF4 obsolete? I don't mind a Capcom vs X game, but another Street Fighter edition or sequel will turn this franchise into another Call of Duty, Guitar Hero, or Need for Speed.

Oh god I hope it's not another SF4 game. It's just way, WAY to soon.
If you ask me, it's probably unreleased opening footage for SF4 or SSF4. I just can't see them doing another SF4 so soon or doing a new game using the same ink brush style from SF4.

Because of how Ono has been hinting at things... I don't think they're going to do a straight sequel/upgrade. I could be wrong, but I think there's something kind of different coming.

its gotta be "Super Street Fighter IV Turbo"; like the arcade "Super Street Fighter II Turbo" in 1994. This will probably be released as a DLC for PS3 and Xbox360.

Well, It appears he put the Xbox and PS3 controllers there purposely.(As well as the keyboard maybe hinting at PC.)

I'm guessing it's the update/arcade/pc release announcement and not much else.

The trailer is running on a PC, you can see a Windows logo in the background, so that might explain the keyboard, but the controllers are there for a reason, I agree.

I don't think it's "way too soon" to announce an update. Nobody is saying it's coming out in 10 days -- just that it'll be announced in 10 days. It may not be released until 2011.

Afterall, SF4 was released in Feb 2009 and SSF4 was announced just 7 months later. Granted SSF4 has only been out 3 months now but if it's DLC or a small update then it shouldn't take long to develop and implement.

If Ono said "SuperSF4 is nothing compared to what's coming!!" then he can't be talking about a DLC or a PC/arcade release surely.
Although I'm sure those things are in the pipeline, he seems to be referring to a new game...

If capcom wants to further the fighting game scene the fact of the matter is they need to change something...something big. Something that will make the game even easier to play. We all know how great these games are but we also know how frustrating it was to learn them. Players nowadays dont have the patience that we used to and if we want the scene to grow we have to appeal to more people.

It does seem suspicious that there's an XBOX controller, PS3 controller, Windows logo, and an Apple keyboard. Maybe it does have something to do with cross-platform play, though I don't see how that would work.

how would u guys feel about yearly updates to the game like sports games like NCAA football? new balance changes, mechanics, moves, characters, costumes, stages etc.

i kinda like the idea in theory, but i suppose an ever expanding roster would be more and more unbalanceable. maybe if they added new characters and retired old ones? i'm sure that'd piss off numerous players who had spent time on the retired characters tho, but it would keep things fresh.

i'm not sure how it could work, but i still like the idea of yearly updates.

Cross party would be epic but i doubt it, it wouldnt be so much as bigger than ssf4 just more of.. given what ive seen its konami vs capcom which is really disappointing.

Im preying it ssf4t and i know a few of you might cry like a baby but id pay to keep this particular ride going. End of the day at some point next year were all gonna be a bit bored of ssf4 unlike sf3'3S this game isnt as advanced and doesnt have the scope to keep you going for 10 years.

Two things about this pic.

1. Ryu to me looks a lot younger then he does in SF4 in this pic. Even though the piture is in black and white his bandanna is obviously white if it was red it would be a darker shade of grey.

2. Ono said he wanted to put Rolento and R.Mika in super but got denied and both characters were in the Alpha series.

My conclusion is that we will hear a announcement for a Street Fighter Alpha 4.

imo if capcom werent to update ssf4 in 4 years there would be very little in the way of activity certainly not at the same level.

How come it looks like its a mac keyboard but on the screen of it theres a windows start logo plus there's a sony sign in the middle bottom of the screen

And I'm thinking its some weird cross that will me new and unexpected because it looks as if the first picture with ryu is cut in half which on the other side could have a logo of the other francise.

It's probably the announcement of new characters in the arcade version of SSF4, on top of those characters becoming DLC for the game.

...SF5? I can't see a vs title because it'd harm sales of MvC3; people would just buy whatever one they preferred. If it must be 'bigger than SSf4', it can't be any other franchise, as that would be degrading to SSF4- they can't outright say that a new Darkstalkers game, or 3SHDR or something is 'bigger than SSF4'. To genuinely call it bigger, it would need to be a bigger jump than SF4 was to SSF4, so why not just jump straight to a whole new game rather than issue another update? A DLC update would be cool but I think it'd take too much space to make it worth the hype. I dunno, really but I'm excited to see what's happening.

So nobody picked up on the not-so-subtle hint when the TEKKEN developer was on stage with the STREET FIGHTER developer, and the STREET FIGHTER developer said he would give us a hint?

I hope this does not come to pass, although a straight up Namco vs. Capcom could be something special.

Will be $20

-Will feature 5 character addtions, 3 returning, 2 new
-Return of Championship mode for online
-Faster gameplay
-A 3rd tier of Ultras
-a new batch of Alternate costumes
-3 new stages
-Will be sold as a disk for those that don't own Super, like RE5 gold edition, and will also have option as DLC

it cant be another sf4 realted update already, unless they are just announcing updates and characters to be added to the arcade version and therefore an update to the console version.

It's obvious that it is a Capcom vs X game.

Ryu face is cut in half and under the 2nd image is a another face with the dark color theme which is normally used by Tekken. And the 2nd face has long hair. (Probably a Tekken character, I don't know cuz i don't play Tekken).

And if you look carefully at the ink image on the left side you can see a really unclear face but its still a face.

Hope someone knows a Tekken character with long orange hair.

I'd be very surprised if it wasn't Capcom vs. Namco/SF vs. Tekken and the DLC details coupled with a PC port announcement.

He stressed that the arcade port was a very big factor in the SF-related details, so the DLC and another port would make perfect sense. Also, the keyboard is way too prominent in the hint picture not to be of significance.

Guys it Tekken vs Street Fighter or Namco vs Capcom, hence both developers appearing together onstage. Ryu looks awfully close to Jin or Kazuya, they have to somewhat merge the artstyle to look like both.

Why has no one considered a remake of the original Street Fighter. Ryu looks considerably younger in the image, maybe even younger than his Alpha incarnation.

Imagine the original Street Fighter re-imagined with SSF4-style fighting mechanics and graphics. I think it's a neat concept.

The idea of a brand new SF game is completely ridiculous. SSFIV was released just a few months ago and is doing fairly well. There's no chance they'd update the series within a year from now, as they would have to have been working on the title while SFIV or at least SSFIV were in production. A cross-over makes the most sense, and there were possible hints that it's likely SF vs. Tekken.

Adding projectiles to tekken roster would be like forcing the namco fighters to become capcom fighters. And getting rid of projectiles from street fighter roster would make capcom fighters become namco fighters. This would be a weird project.

Its either sf vs tekken or cap vs konami, this game was announced in their offices a while back and then it leaked from a reliable source the same source that got all the cast right in super... this is because that same source either works in capcom or has someone on the inside.

Then you had the whole tekken producer and sf producer bantering on stage at evo hint sf vs tekken

Then you have ryu's face cut in half ie a vs game

The ink art is to show you where their going with the game it will be similar to sf4 but play style will be totally different as they have to cater for the tekken chars

Ryu being younger is just to mark the timeline so they can put this game a few years back (timeline wise) just to make things smoother.

The main thing to consider is the leak on eventhubs a while back the time of that leak till this date would be enough time to make a trailer and a mock up of the game ie few chars to have a basic game play show

This leak is very very reliable as I have heard about him through certain vip's and remember he got the whole cast for super bang on probably when it was announced in the office and they could not change nothing by then after that time went into tweaking the chars and then it was all revelled sort of the same time line as when he leaked the sf vs tekken.

Mark my words its sf vs tekken that would be history in the making and same sort of bigger hype than ssf4 as it is too massive francises going head to head and both of these comopanies have never teamed up.

And its a different game to the sf4 series super4 was like super and turbo put into one even ono said this when they announced the super release. No more spin offs for the ssf4 series the game is so tight and well balanced a few things might be added but nothing major even ono stated this hence its not another spin of from the ssf4 series.

God damn that took a long time to write my thoughts please let me know if you even read it lol and what you think

mac keyboard - its for macs

Again there are 50 characters in the Street Fighter universe that >don't< have fireballs and the thing about Tekken 6 it has parries and also you can dodge to the side so projectiles can still be avoided or parried making projectile characters less of a problem, the only real problem is characters like Blanka and Necro who have attacks that have a 360 degree(on all axis) attack range

I don't see any mac keyboard. I see a sony vaio laptop. Most macs aren't made for video games anyway.

The pic is clearly representing a vs. series. Combine the two windows as one and you get a face. One window has half of Ryu's face and the other is probably a Tekken character Jin/Paul/Law? More then likely it's sf vs. tekken.

But it's definitely a vs. series without a doubt. It's definitely not an coincidence that Ono open up two windows with two halves of two different faces and put them side by side.

Capcom needs to take it easy with these fighting games because they just going to cannibalized their other franchise. For instance, back in the 1990s Capcom released SF VS Marvel games and SF ALPHA games all in the same year with SF3. SF3 seemed less appealing to the masses because the masses were so used to the flashy supers of the VS games and multiple combos and supers of the Alpha games.

We don't need another iteration of the SF games, so I hope it isn't SF Alpha 4 because that would be dumb. I hope it is SSFIV for the PC and the Arcade and not some update.

It's safe to assume this is a IV style INK trailer so the obvious answers are probably the best ones.

It's someone from the Street Fighter universe and Seth, being the boss would make alot of sense for a trailer.

When SUPER was being announced a second INK trailer came out and many people were guessing about rolento and cody being the shadows... Turned out it was just Ken and Ryu so safe bets are with the common characters.

1. is the motion sensor version of SF which I think it's going to be a horrible idea in the long run. It'll come out as a cool new idea but once people realized it's too hard or too tiring to do combos, it'll fade.

I really think the logical announcement is a game update via DLC. a handful of new characters, balance fixes, 3rd tier of Ultras, 2-3 new stages, etc. They did say Super is more open to DLC over Vanilla SFIV, and will sell for $15-20 and it's possible.

seems like its gonna end up as a twisted company merger to help the fighting game scene grow even larger.
Now tekken vs street fighter is doable.. seeing how mvc2 has a 2 punch 2 kick scheme. jinpachi, devil jin, both have awkward projectiles, raven has a teleport like move, kazuya has a shoryuken+tatsu move in one.

Now that i think about it bringing some of the stuff from alpha 3 would be nice. The ism's along with the guard break would liven things up(juri's custom combo in sf4 shows that it could work). The only problem with ism's would be retooling either the meter or the character to work with/without ex moves.

While kind of unlikely, I would love themed DLC's, as was discussed earlier. Putting 3 characters in at a time in 6-9 month intervals would probably be quite successful, and giving them themes (Alpha, 3S, etc) would make sense.

Also, I wouldn't be so sure it has anything to do with Alpha yet. All the SF4 imagery is typically extremely desaturated, and in the picture above, given that the monitor is at a slight angle, it's kind of impossible to tell whether the headband is white or red.

i hate to go so deep into speculation but i ve noticed that mostly everything is white. the standard color for an xbox 360 control is white but its not the same for the ps3 control. the keyboard is white. and if it is alpha, Ryu's headband is going to be white as well.

ono is obviously working on this video so if it is alpha 4 then mabye this will show how his headband turned red. there is a timeline they're going by in the series

The only points it hits is that it's a humanoid figure. It could be any number of characters from any universe. Jumping to Jin out of no where is just choosing randomly out of a hat.

Also, your image shows him facing the left when the guy in the picture is clearly looking to the right. It looks a lot like Seth and since this is a video with IV Ink style it's safe to assume it's a Street Fighter character anyway.

Like I said above... when SUPER was coming out there was another ink trailer image released and many people speculated that it was Cody and Rolento fighting... placing knives and batons and other things in random ink spots.

It turned out to just be Ryu and Ken the whole time. So if you are going to start listing off characters that it could be I would at least go with a SF one not something completely unrelated.

The picture of the ink character in the right is R.Mika doing a flip to land on her bottom, you can clearly see her shoes and her hair, also the tiny pic of her in the background of said photo. My guess is that this is either going to be DLC/Arcade Version extra characters, or both.

You can draw whatever conclusions you want about it yourself. The face, indication of the hairline, and the fact he appears to be shirtless lead me to believe it kind of looks like Kazuya. Like I said, the image is very blurry and you could make out whatever you want from it.

More than likely, it's actually a trailer for the SSFIV DLC and nothing to do with SF vs. Tekken, but there's no real reason not to speculate.

I assume they'll launch the arcade release with the 1st DLC package, then upgrade the arcade releases with patch packs sent to arcade owners as future DLC packs are released. Capcom has done this to patch arcade games in the past, makes sense to do it this way now.

My guess is it's either going to be Street Fighter Alpha 4 or SF vs Tekken. Reasons being:

A) Ryu does indeed look like his Alpha iteration, being younger. Plus those huge eyebrows are an Alpha trademark from when he was younger. Like everyone mentioned earlier, Ono did push for R.Mika and Rolento and never got it. So here's his shot at that.

B) I do agree with a lot of people that the ink blot on the second screen does look like Jin's hair. And since Harada was so pushy about it at Evo it only makes sense.

But still the concept of a Street Fighter/Tekken sounds really tough to pull off successfully so I'm 75% towards A and 25% towards B

I'm going to go with Street Fighter vs. Tekken plus SSFIV for PC, and *possibly* major SSFIV DLC, but I see nothing in the picture to indicate the latter. I see Ryu, which means something Street Fighter-related. I see the Blanka toy that the Tekken guy allegedly had on his shoulder. And I see a keyboard behind XBox 360 and PS3 controllers, quite significant in the composition, and SF vs. Tekken probably isn't coming to the PC. I hope I'm right about the port; to be honest I'm mostly happy with SFIV, I can't see myself being able to use any of the new characters as well as Honda anyway, but it does bother me that I'm in a different frame of reference than almost everyone else on this site.

As for the inkblot... there's a real possibility I'm wrong, but I think it's just an inkblot, people. Minds are tricky, unreliable things, and they almost always sacrifice accuracy for speed, especially when identifying new things. Personally, I saw a stylized version of that same image of Ryu, until I looked closer and saw how many ways that didn't fit. I seriously doubt they would actually present the form of a Tekken/new DLC/whatever character in such a way that people could actually tell what it was. Somebody would photoshop up a comparison pic or something and their surprise would be ruined.

Oh, and Ryu isn't evil, that's just how his eyes and eyebrows look.

People hasn't answer me whether Tekken and SF Team ever got on the same stage at past EVOs to talk to each other like they Ono did with that Tekken Producer. There have been 5 Tekken games before T6 so they would have done it before if they really want it happen. If this was the first, there must be a reason. so they're at comic-con primarily cause mvc3 - right? But there's a SSF4 "panel"? So it has to be SF related I would gather. And I doubt they would release another VS Capcom title so close to Marvel release (I know this new release isn't right around the corner but MVC3 won't be out in the next 3-4 months either...right?) so I believe this is just a hyped up tease (as Capcom has been proven to do) for DLC & PC Version. hmm..well it was Ono himself who said, "SSF4 is nothing compared to what's coming." We know his Eng. isn't too good but the statement stands pretty well for me.

-Both Capcom and Namco reps did a (rather corny) announcement at EVO, slightly hinting at a (possible) collaboration between the two.

-For those who think it's Jin, and for those who think it's Demitri, realize this....They BOTH have a very similar hairstyle, think about it. For argument's sake, I'm going to say that the Ink design is a start of Jin's hair. (Spiky back, bangs in front.) Look at it closely.

The ink swipe could be the after-effects of a sweeping motion preceding the frame in the trailer shown. There's two things that have me leaning towards Dimitri. One, the lighter (or "white") area under what appears to be the head, and the calves. Jin's pants are flared, and create a straighter shape than tights and form-fitted boots (which, on Dimitri, are ridiculously curved due to his musculature)... and, as Dimitri has a cape, there's part of the "could-be" figure that, well, could be a cape.

Then again, the Arc stuff is interesting. Hell, after Cross Edge, I wouldn't be too surprised if multiple companies threw their fighters into one big mixing pot with some attempt at meshing them all together in a way that wouldn't make hardcore fans of any given series want to mailbomb said companies' headquarters. Regardless, we'll find out by SDCC. I'm sure there's more hinting to come.

it is a white headband.., don't look at the portion with lighting effect look into the shadow part of the face. the head band is brighter than ryus skin tone, even they are both in shadow. if it is red then it will go darker than the face tone. just turn the old any sf 4 ryu pic into black and white you will find the headband always goes darker than the face.

Finally got my fightstick from the evo deal. It is soooo different from pad. I am excited to learn how to use it although it was frustating today but I guess that is to be expected. I see that if that is a white head band on a character that could be Ryu the head band would be from alpha which is impossible to go back in time a get a younger Ryu so if its anything new, Ryu will not be it in because he is young here. Initial thoughts were Street Fighter 1: Do-Over Edition.
White headband, blackened out eyes = implication of Ryu still being susceptible to Satsui no Hadou? Maybe we get a chance to finally play the game with good controls and revised gameplay up to the standards Capcom has now set. Then Mad Catz could release a TE stick with the two giant pressure pads lol.

Then upon further inspection, the headband appears ever so slightly red... so I really have no idea anymore.

Reagardless of what picture you dumbasses are looking at, it's not gonna be a Tekken vs SF game...Tekken is low tier and SF would never want to team up with another company that produces a fighting game because how would you decide who controls the code and how it is played? If capcom does the code, Konami is basically saying that capcom is superior. I think you can see very faintly, someone's left shoulder, arm and back. I bet that this is Jin Kazama.

My thinking is the ink swirl will animate and transform into the tattoo onto Jin Kazama's arm, or vice versa.

Are you serious? You're talking about tiers? Did they worry about that when producing Tatsunoko vs Capcom?

Everyone is just giving their opinion, no need to get personal with insults. People may be right, they may be wrong, so what?

As to the code, or style of play, it all depends on the developers don't you think? It's all about ideas. Maybe Namco themselves were interested to see how their characters would translate into an SF4 style game. As long as everyone on board is cool with it, why should there be problems?

Capcom have already said that they are interested in rebooting their old franchises, so if the new game were a reboot, I don't think Ono would hype it up too much, as it would be expected.

All the above add up to why I think SF vs Tekken fits the bill. Just in case... I may be right, I may be wrong lol.

Seriously. Tekken Vs. SF would be a nightmare.

As it's been said (forgot who by initially), adding a sidestep would virtually nullify fireballs and like projectiles. Taking out sidesteps would limit Tekken characters (and players) severely.

Then, of course, there's the question of continuity. Both story, and franchise - how the two worlds would be meeting, without ripping off MK's dimension-hopping (sorry, but they did do it first), this late into their respective timelines is beyond me, and why either company would compromise their unique fight systems, between input timing, meters, etc... yeah, just... no. It'd be great if people would at least give up on that idea. It's not happening, at least this time around.

For once, I agree with ReallFatUglyChik - DLC is coming. What else, I can only hope is ridiculously awesome.

Just putting my speculation down.
There seems to be two major topics of speculation here:
1. DLC
2. Capcom (Or SF) Vs Namco (Or Tekken)

So What Comes to my mind is Yoshimitsu. He's been crossed over into a few titles now and is a well liked character outside of the tekken franchise. Why not port the guy over into super sf4?

Theres been rumours of tekken and capcom going around before ono mentioned this recent announcement, and we all know DLC is comming around the corner. The only reall issue with me is, should there be a tekken char DLC who should it be?

Another thing to keep in mind is theres reports a tekken char will be available in an upcomming naruto title aswell. Weather its developed by namco or not, it could seem that namco are trying to spread there ideas into other franchises.

My guesses are:

1) The Arcade version of SSF IV may not be "just" that, with the rumored extra characters and moves it could be a newer update - in any case and whatever the name may be this will most certainly make it into consoles as a physical disk and/or DLC for SSF IV. I think this might be the trailer

2) IMO there is a bigger chance this will be a different game based on the SF 4 engine and universe but with Kinect/Move.

If Ono says its something new he got the green light for i doubt it would just be option 1, even though that is also probably going to be shown at either ComicCon or TGS.

As for the Tekken thing, well it is possible that a Tekken character could make a guest appearance in the update. Namco has a Tekken character in the upcoming Naruto fighting game as well

the thing about namco vs capcom that makes me doubt it is that the fighting systems are so different. One of the sides will have to suffer by being shoe horned into a system there not designed to fight in. And then the art styles are totally different,sf4 chuns thigh is prob bigger then whole characters in tekken.

From what I've seen, I think it's DS.
1. My first thought was the ink blot was wings and that pointed to Demitri
2. The figure in the background appears to be built like Demitri and you can kind of see his aura
3. The facial features such as brows are reminiscent of Demitri in addition to the weird pupils.

I agree with Clovr4Lyf because it's true evidence, but still we don't know for sure. It would be Ultimate Street Fighter 4, just kidding. But if they did come out with another version of Street Fighter 4 it will be very cheap. It would feel weird as a motion control game unless it was a completely different game allowing you to do certain moves used for the motion controls. It would suck if you do a drop kick in the air because you could fall on your face lol.

1st. It's a new game because Ono said at Evo you wil want to buy this game next year or he couldn't say DLC so he wouldn't give it away.

2nd. SF vs. Tekken is not happening because the conversion would alienate one side of the fans.

If u look at it closely u c the same art style so its for super street figher 4 but its ryu on the left that gets me. U look at his eyes they look sorta red and his gi looks like its turning darker with the gray coloring. If you're a SF fan and saw everything reworked in a Tekken style look and feel, would you like it? Conversely, would Tekken fans like their characters converted to 2D? So much tension in these areas. Makes it a scary thought to want to be anyone's friend here lol. We will all know in a little while. It should not really matter what it is. Whether you like it or not, whatever it is, its going to be revealed end of story.. If its DLC... good... If its another Vs series... also good... if its another Alpha by any chance... just as nice. Many people tend to complain but in the end.. it seems the complaints of a few get drowned out by the purchasing power of the majority. There are those who complained that SFIV sucked and that it would not be as good as III... Well maybe to some degree III could be better but the fact that SFIV got its sequel kind of tells you that it is just as good as any of the top SF games in history. It holds its spots in tourneys and free play. I mean complaining over things you do not want to happen does not really seem to be effective in this world. Mainly its best to just do what many others do... ignore it. If you do not want to buy, then do not buy. If you do not wish to see it, turn away. If its on TV... I am pretty sure there are other channels to watch and if not, read a book or even go back to playing the games you fell in love with in the first place. Just because they are out of date, does not mean they can no longer be enjoyed...

As both a SF and Tekken fan, I am intrigued and curious to see what the developers come up with, should the SFvTekken/NamcovCapcom rumors pan out.

As a Tekken fan, I personally don't feel that I would be alienated, should the game feature Capcom style gameplay, and vice versa.

It all adds up to greater variety in the fighting game scene. At the end of the day, shouldn't we be happy about that?

To hardcore tourney players, it would matter a lot more than it would to casual fans. Alienation may not be the best word for it (fortunately, I wasn't the one to use it!) - there would be no way to satisfy both "sides", 3D and 2D; Tekken and SF. It would be a mess, and characters' integrity would be destroyed. Ryu without a viable fireball due to sidestepping? Not the same. 'n I seriously doubt they would be lenient enough to remove so many of the Tekken cast's sidestep-based moves, let alone dump a whole slew of projectile-lacking fighters into the existing SF style.

*shrug*

I just wish people would put more thought into it than "oh, they're both awesome, WHY THE HELL NOT?!"

I agree with your point to a certain extent. I have thought about it, and have posted previously that certain compromises (obviously) have to be made. In my mind, it would be easier to do a Capcom style game, as it would involve taking away or simplifying moves on the Tekken characters. It would be more complicated to make a Tekken-style character out of the Capcom cast.

Secondly, not all Street Fighter characters have projectiles. In this regard, some might have their moves exaggerated some may have projectiles added.

I remember suggesting way back in 2005, that Capcom should introduce a 3D Street Fighter game, but on a 2D plane, but with cel shaded graphics. As usual, it was met with so many "wtf?" responses. Then SF4 came, and now so many enjoy it.

Some people don't like it, including "hardcore tourney players", but at the same time, it brought in so many new and old fans to the fighting game genre, enough to make it popular again, as well as creating a new generation of harcore tourney players.

Should a Tekken vs SF game come out, I have no doubt that some will not like it. Even I may not like it. That's just the way it goes with new ideas. I just prefer to be optimistic and trust the developers enough to come up with something cool.

Lastly, in my opinion, a lot of great ideas have come from moments of "oh, they're both awesome, WHY THE HELL NOT?!"

Some tekken character have projectiles too. Lets put it this way, Brian can use his shotgun now right? Jin has his lazer bean. Nina can throw killer knifes? Now about the side step who cares. Tekken 1 and 2 did not have side step. Know the history of Tekken first before saying that 2D can't be possible.

He didn't say 2D wasn't possible, he only voiced out some of his concerns on the issue, and how it might turn off some hardcore fans. I think its understood by everyone that compromises will be made to produce such a game.

To me, differences in opinion so far on the issue of SFvsTekken arise because of the following:

1. Would developers on either side be willing to compromise on their characters?
2. Would fans from either camp like it?

My personal opinion:

1. I don't know, but if developers are willing, anything is possible
2. I feel the developers today are closer than ever to the community, and have so far been making good moves, so I am optimistic.

I dont know how Tekken Vs SF got brought up, i dont see it. I don't think it would well at all either, the two games play soo differently, you would have to compromise one or both of them so much for it to work together, which kind of defeats the purpose.

Plus I dont see how the hell people are seeing Jin in the ink lol.

Looks like its going to be a PC release for Super.. I've said this before i'd love for it to come out on PSP

One of my main gripes about fighting games is the general lack of character customization (probably due to some rather shoddy attempts in the past), and one of my main gripes about MMORPGs is that the combat tends to be... what's a good way to put it? Extremely non-visceral; at a remove. Street Fighter-like combat in a persistent world where your custom character actually gains experience, learns/improves moves, and wins fight money? I wouldn't buy it automatically, but they'd certainly have my attention.

I don't think there's any chance/hint of that though, just my opinion.

Ryu's headband can appear white depending on the lighting (and shader used), and his eyebrows are abnormally large in general. :P

That's not to say that I wouldn't love Alpha 4, but... the things people are using to back-up their speculation of Alpha IV? Weak.

I do hope Sh3azu's vision of a Giant Mecha Spider-Elephant is realized, if not only in the background of a stage.

The ones I provided are from the old trailer. The new shot of Ryu is... new. I was pointing out the flaw in people's claims that the appearance of Ryu's headband (some say red, some say white... hell, it could be grey) and eyebrows magically solve the mystery of Ono's project.

If its SSFIVT then I want Retsu, Geki, Birdie(his face should be like his SFA1 select screen potrait in 3D), Rolento, Hugo, & Alex in the game.

Also they should give Guile some more target combos & give some target combos to Gen , because when I was doing Dudley's chain I think the target combos are cool looking. :)

Gen(Also Gen should have his classic SFA2 costume along with his classic hair by selecting a color instead of having it as a alt costume)
