Capcom may announce new versus game this year
Capcom plans to announce a new game in their Vs. series this year if Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars sells well enough in the U.S., at least that's what Ryota Niitsuma told Kotaku.
This is an interesting write up with TvC's producer, as he offers a bit of insight into what the company is thinking. Here's a healthy cut and paste.
"I would love to do more versus series, more types of games like Marvel Vs. Capcom 2," Niitsuma said. "There are all of these possibilities working with other companies, seeing what we could do with them. There are so many game companies I'd love to work with."
In Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars players get to pick from some of Capcom's most popular characters as well as characters drawn from the five-decade history of the Japanese animation company that created classics like Speed Racer, G-Force, Tekkaman and Gatchaman.
Often the versus games have been driven by fan requests to Capcom, Niitsuma said.
"We get requests from fans to mix our characters with other video game characters all of the time," he said.
And for this series of games in particular, Capcom pays close attention to what those fans are saying.
"Based on those requests we might be able to do something with our characters and another company's characters for a future game," Niitsuma said. "Keep your eyes open and your ears open for some kind of news in the future."
But how soon in the future?
"If sales are really good (for Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars) then you can see an announcement within this year," he said.
He might be talking about a sequel to TvC that's been hinted at a few times, but it's also possible this would be a different Vs. franchise entirely.

Capcom vs. SNK 3 needs to be done. SNK is alreay heading towards another bankruptcy, the least Capcom can do is help ensure people don't forget SNK's classics. Hell, Capcom should just buy SNK, and finish Garou:MOTW2 for them.

From what I have been hearing for at least a year is that development has already started on Ultimate Street Fighter. This game will use almost every SF character and tons of Capcom character in an ultimate VS style game. 75+ characters...

The sales of TVC should not determine if we get more vs series. The fact that it is on the wii alone is more than enough to expect poor sales. Release TVS where youve sold millions of SF4 copies already(xbox ps3). I mean why not release the game to people who obviously WILL buy it and not MAYBE pick it up

I don't see MvC3 happening. Disney owns Marvel now and they don't have the best history making games together.
Correct me if I am wrong on this history lesson here but the only game that Disney and Capcom have ever made together was a Mickey Mouse puzzle game for the N64 which quite naturally bombed.
Capcom vs. Namco? Really? You people think its a good idea to move 3D fighting game characters to 2D?
Capcom vs. Midway? Right. Like Capcom wants to have anything to do with that epic failure of a company.
Its going to be TvC2. There aren't any other serious possibilities.

Well this message from capcom is actually a WIN WIN type of deal. let me tell you how this works regardless of TvC getting sales or not;
-This game still sales in Japan. And now that its getting an upgrade, Japan and combat with US, Europe, and misc. giving this game AND the wii a boost in the sales.
-This will be a great traditional fighter for those who couldnt afford arcades or a ps3 and 360.
-You may see a boost in sales(or players online) in all the capcom fighters released for the systems before and after the release of the updated TvC.
-announcements from capcom have always been exciting, so the capcom fans will always interested.
is there more to say? i feel a sequel is going to come anyway but they just made a statement that made most fans smile

Putting it on sales of TVC isn't fair. TVC isn't fun while the other Vs are. It almost feels like we have to pay for the privelege in that regard. Count MvC2 sales. That's more realistic of what fans want. Not TVC

Alright let us think about this for a second. All the versus series are individual in their own way because they crossover a certain kind of company. CvS, crossover with another game company. MvC, crossover with comic company. TvC, crossover with animation company. The possibilities ARE endless, but I do not think they will be doing another crossover unless its something that hasn't already been done. so I wouldn't hold your breath for, lets say; funimation vs capcom, shonen jump vs capcom, or god forbid, mortal kombat vs capcom. Capcom themselves chose all the current crossovers that they have done due to their LONGEVITY! SNK has been recognized by Capcom for a very long time as both competitors and friends (I mean, just look at Dan!). Marvel, though a little more obscure in Japan than here (yes, I have been to japan), has done nothing but dominate the comic industry for decades. And Tatsunoko, though not as well recognized here in the US, Has been a staple for children and adults alike in Japan since it's inception. Capcom IS NOT going to choose a crossover that doesn't have some sort of long lasting impact on both younger and older generations. Otherwise how are they going to be able to sell it? My guess is the announcement will probably be CvS3, MvC3, or TvC2. And if Capcom can pull off a new versus series, it will probably be a very recognizable name like Namco vs Capcom or Konami Vs Capcom. Not just some crossover that appeals to pre-pubescent boys who jump on anything thats a fad! (no offense if your a pre-pubescent boy who recognizes originality!) So the bottom line is, think of what Capcom's best move is without applying your own prejudices.
But if I had to say it was going to be a brand new series, GO KATAMARI VS CAPCOM!!!! GO!!!! :P

How about just make a big a$$ game called crossover where you take pretty much an even number of characters from everywhere and have em fight eachother tag style? Make matchups like Seigfried x Marth x Nightcrawler vs Iori x Ky Kiske x Model ZX. Though that's just dreaming on my part. When it comes to actual things happening, Im lookin forward to either CvS3 or another TvC. I still haven't had my Makoto-K'-Shingo team yet, nor have I seen my VS. series Dante.

Personally I would rather see a Nintendo vs Capcom than Megaman in the next Smash Bros game. Capcom and Nintendo usually get along pretty well like in the Zelda series, but I don't know if Capcom wants to make another Wii game.

that's nice to know fighting game fans have had so much attention recently in the video game world, it seemed as if we were overlooked for a while. a sequel to tvc would be cool..multi-platform this time i'm sure. that marvel vs capcom 3 seems highly unlikely now that disney bought them out. a capcom vs snk3 with this tvc graphics would be pretty sick. as for those saying the dbz vs capcom, it's an interesting idea..but don't hold your breath on that one.

Honestly, Nintendo vs. Capcom sounds possible. If I recall correctly, Capcom once stated that they would like to do something like that. I don't remember when and where, though. It might have had to do with being asked why Megaman wasn't in Brawl, though (in which they stated that they were never asked by Nintendo).

Namco vs Capcom would be "2.5D" not full 3D movement. Or they might surprise you with a working dodge, sidestep for Capcom fighters finally. Juggle strings would be Tekken/Soul Calibur more than Street Fighter, so either not in or toned down quite a bit.
Capcom vs SNK 3, SNK characters better be more equal to Capcom characters who dominate most.
Square's "fighting game" on that PSP with the not even a word name is all about special moves and more special moves. You guys can have your Bleach vs FF vs Naruto vs DBZ, not with Capcom. Those games hardly care what normal move sets are, and pack in the specials/supers as first priority.

After how CvS2 performed, I've almost given up on this one.
New Franchise: Shonen Jump Vs. Capcom
Truly an epic selection of characters to choose from. Sadly, a bigger legal nightmare than TvC ever could be. However if Capcom Japan & USA work together to secure the character rights on both shores before development, those legal issues might go smoother this time around.
Whatever the next Vs. game is, at long as it isn't another Capcom Fighting Jam, I'm sure it will be fun.

Shonen Jump vs. Capcom is not really far fetched. namco bandai has the licenses for DBZ, Naruto, and One Piece. The only popular and applicable franchise I don' tthink they have is Bleach. Not to mention they have the license for Gundam, which wouldn't be a bad addition either.

damn. first they threaten that they may not make wii games (which cancels out any hope for a re5 or 6 wii edition), now they want to add the vs. games on that list. thats a punk move.

With the Quick menu equip system still the same, on the Wii, that is not a good idea.
You're getting a VS game right in front of you, on a system you own, and because they say "Yes we will consider making more VS games if we see people still like and support them with buying our newest one, we can even hurry up and get it rolling by the end of the year,"

How can they know you're going to buy a game they haven't even started making yet? This magical not TvC, VS game you're holding out for. You say you like the VS series but won't try the newest one, didn't seem like you liked it at all.
Misconstrue every message gamers becomes a reason not to buy, gotta love the dedication to their craft. No juice to get their friends to play, meet others in their area and compete and level up their games - have fun with a VS game, and support a scene, their own scene.

im sorry 141, i do support capcom, but i cant buy a game that just dont wow me. i seen alot of trailers of it, but im just not feelin it.
re4 was awesome for the wii. i would rather buy it for the wii instead of 360 or ps3. gets me more into the game using the wiimote as a gun instead of using regular controllers.

Yes RE4 controls pretty good on Wii, but with RE5 Co-op, even when playing 1 player, swapping items while holding the Wiimote and nuchuck, you can only hit so many buttons, facing the Wiimote at the screen.
The quick menu - that doesn't pause the game, in RE5, will need some button to open then move around and select items, maybe removing your ability to shoot - because its using the same buttons and you're in a menu. Fumbling around with buttons or DPAD when you're facing mobs, not the same as RE4 on Wii, where you can pause and change guns, reload, select sub weapons like grenades.
Karin, who's only in one game so far, Alpha 3, if she was in you prob would have bought it B. Bet.

your right, re5 would be harder cause of that. ther were alot of monsters on that one, but there are ways around those.
as far as karin goes, i still couldnt buy it. its not because of that. even if she dont make it in ssf4, im still buying it. i just want a true rival fight. the gameplay in tvc dont interest me, plus a good few characters shouldnt even be in these kind of games. it takes em out of their environment of what they actually do. its like turning sf into a racing game.

if they make a marvel vs capcom 3 make it f**kin balanced, like cable magneto sentinel and storm aare so annoying, no one has any origionality every person uses them three characters, make the game balanced. and there should be well over 100 characters when u make this game, from capcom add every street fighter character that there is, from mega man add, the new mega man, zero protoman and gutman, from devilmay cry add dante virgil and nero. from resident evil add, jill chris and leon, from, dark stalkers add everyone, add beyonetta lol,from marvel well u know who to add that wasent on there before, and dont take off any characters that were on mvc2 and make character actuall size like the sentinel should be like how they are on tvc.
