While the retail chains haven't warmed up to the idea of a collector's edition of Super Street Fighter 4, it looks like Capcom might be cooking up something good for fans who order the game directly through their store.Is there a collector's edition in the works for Super Street Fighter 4?
Sven: Retail has not been terribly supportive of the concept so far.
I've been speaking to our licensing team about doing something "Special" on the Capcom store for fans. We'll see what they cook up.
Seth: We had a meeting about some ideas with Ono-san, and we're going to see what's possible for the true believers. Retailers might think there's not interest in a collectors edition, but I think they [don't know] Street Fighter fans quite as well as we do :)

I got sfiv for £40
I got SE stick for £70 (well, They actually delivered two to me by accident! so I sold it n got my money back lol)
I got fightpad for £50
Im guna buy the new TE stick, prob will sell for £150

After getting shafted on the last CE I'm not so sure. The last CE for sf4 was worth it ?? The ryu doll was crappier then the gasaphon dolls. Movie was horrible, Music didn't even have the 'industructible' song. and the DLC ..well ..we all know about that crap. talk about rip off. man and that mini strategy guide... mini is exagerating. can't fool me twice capcom, unless you really do something good you ain't getting my extra 'fight money'

Who cares if some don't want it or cry about it being a rip-off? They should make em for the rest of us who would absolutely love one and make the content well worth it. I dont understand why they expect ssf4 to sell like crap. Everybody that plays sf4 is going to buy it, and I know at least 4 people who are getting ssf4 that haven't even bought sf4 yet. Theres a large group of people who have heard about how good sf4 is, they've heard about the awesome events held, and are looking to jump into the game. The release of ssf4 is the starting point they are looking for.

if you only knew what goes into making a game, with all the time it takes to come up with all the ideas, then translate that into concept, make it, test it, tweak it, market it.... all that crap cost money. Get a job and feel good about paying for something that you are still playing solid for a year. so many games came out this year that i really enjoy, but i always come back to sf4. Ive been playing since snes ssf2. hiatus from then to sf4, but i absolutely LOVE SF4. I will gladly pay $60 for a special edition(normal price of a brand new retail standard edition game)

It could include the characters beginning anime and ending animes lined up in chrono order to develop the story properly, and have filler material added that is not on the game to transition between the pieces.
BTW for the last time, the headband was a Gamestop pre-order bonus. IT WAS NOT PART OF THE SPECIAL EDITION PACKAGE! Why does this idiotic BS get proppogated so much?

Here are some ideas:
1. More alternative costumes option
2. 2 Extra colors (one extreme and the other something bright)
3. A special Guile Alt. costume to make him look like Charlie
4. Soundtrack with all game music
5. A movie that is wayyyyyyy better than the previous movie (more action please)
6. Like someone else said, a Vega mask would be sweet!
7. A special t-shirt with a cool design (black preferably)
8. A special ending for beating it a certain way (regular with a bonus)
9. More personal actions!
10. An option to turn on "full" revenge gage and super gage when playing against the CPU or fighting local (2 players)
11. Custom colors!

i just want to know if the anime is planned to come out at the same time as ssf4 or what. also, no more headbands..for the love of me, no more headbands capcom. not that this has anything to do with the limited edition(if there is one of ssf4) but they should have minigames in ssf4, for instance..multiplayer barrels/car breaking thing like they used to in the old arcade games..maybe a multiplayer training room session, where you can work out situations with your friends online..test out the new engine(and not just with the restraints of cpu, or controller controlled player) ..i suggested this for the original sf4, but capcom dismissed it as usual..lol jk. also, on the note of minigames, how bout rosebowl..i saw that in a tournament in cali..where the players both use rose and hit around her projectile like a game of tennis or volleyball to someone gets hit..the damage was a 1 hit death though, that was the catch. that would be a pretty good minigame..i think that may have been overlooked by capcom. as for limited edition stuff, i hope they try a new route this time around, they've gotten the support from the fans, it's only right that they give something back(perhaps something worth giving back this time) ;) that's not a bad idea though, gootecks idea about it coming with a te stick, maybe bundled for a discounted price or what not, though i'm sure most players already have one already

i like #50's idea btw, an option to turn off revenge meter, to just play like good ol' days..if you'd like, most people wouldn't though i'm sure..but it's an added bonus. also, make sure dudley can throw the rose as a taunt, and have it give him some setups for crying out loud..lmao. i think ssf4 should have better intro's to each fight..esp against rivals/allies..kind of like alpha did, with those cinematic intros..ie..akuma/gen, ryu/ken, or like a ryu/ken from 3rd strike with the pounding of the fist. that would be nice..give the game a bit more flare, doubt it'll happen though.

I agree with the character intro bit, I think that was a big mistake in SF4 and I was sad to see it continued to Super.
In SF4, pre-match intros are always just something that you mash to skip past, no one ever looks at them and even if you did, they're not really interesting enough to be worthwhile of attention.
They're too long to be worth looking at, they're always the same, and they focus just on one character so you'll never have those special character matchup intros that can increase the flavor of the game.
Yeah, there's still the animations when someone wins a round, which are the one good point, but you don't get to see those as often because the zoomed-in ending character animation shows up instead at the end of the match.
I feel like the "character" of the characters is mostly lost because most of the quotes and special animations are regulated to the taunts and rival battles which no one will ever see. Instead of multiple intros and victory poses, you get one static always-skipped canned animation at the start of the round and one static end-of-match animation which just ends up getting annoying because you can't skip it and the models aren't really meant to be looked at up-close for a long period of time.

Who cares what they cost Capcom? I only care how much enjoyment I will get out of them. The value of something like a costume pack has nothing to do with what it cost Capcom to make; it is only meaningful to a certain kind of fan, and those fans bought many of them. I don't understand how anyone can consider a totally optional transaction with all details announced up front a form of being "ripped off."
It seems like only poor people who can't afford stuff like the Special Editions or DLC extras object to the existence of those things, and instead of stating that they are poor, they pretend like they are smarter than the people who can afford them and have "figured out" something others haven't. Why don't they "figure out" that some of us have a few dollars to spare and might want to spend it on a special edition of a game?

I find your near-brainwashed support for capcom amusing, resorting to insults such as "you must be poor". Please, even someone on the minimum wage could afford these extras if they wanted them. Capcom is a corporation, it doesn't care about you, it only cares about making money so you don't need to take insults about the company to heart and defend it as though someone insulted your mother.

They should have limited alternate costumes that you only get if you get the Special Edition, based on other Capcom characters.
Dante or Nero-based Ken,
Viewtiful Joe or Zero-based El Fuerte,
Jill Valentine-based Cammy,
Morrigan-based Chun-Li or Rose
They could even do console exclusive ones, Sagat would make a great Kratos for PS3, but I don't know about 360 or PC. Master Chief Guile?

okay okay yes make the Collectors edition. I wanna see part two of the movie that came with the last one. I wanna see an Thick character art book with bios and a command list IN COLOR with at least 5 pics of each character. dont forget the NICE FEMALE PICS!!!!(im an artist lol)have them like posing and doing some of there signiture moves i think that would be cool and oh hanging out and some concept art thats not in the game gallery. If you do the ties that bind part two or another movie dont make ken look like such a wuss lol. MAKE THE FIGHTS MORE INTENSE LIKE IN THE ONLY ANIMATED AND ALPHA MOVIES. A fight stick could be to much so Im not askin for that. But I wanna see another accessory from a character dont know which one but i never got the ryu headband n still plan on getting one. will be getting a fight stick someone how but I think retailers should reconsider. I agree with Kellm 150% and you should make Special costumes that show more about the characters like kens get another alternitive outfit where he has on the outfit he had on in the alpha movie when he had on along sleeve dress shirt with dress pants on but his shirt sleeves where pull to his elbos that was so awsome when they fought on the beach in the alpha movie. oh let kens hair be long in the fit if you add it that would be cool like on alpha. Oh sakura would look cool in a sports bra and some jeans with cuts n in them with cool patch designs (no skulls).make chun li the old alpha alternative fit she uses to have in the alpha games. those some idea's but yeah another set of alternaative fits with cool colors would be really cool to add with the new editions. I also would love to see karin make an apearance in the game. that would be awsome.

you know something you could add a mini fights stick that should be really cheap to create just use sanwa the buttons and stick when you make it. But um yeah make it really small but durable that could come with the collectors Edition. Im just sayin it can play just as good and still keep the price of the add on low. But of course it will have on beautiful art on it with yuri bison and rose on it. lol. or ken ryu and sakura. Kellm had a good idea an art book would be great to have as a fellow collector.

oh dramatic battles would be great for versus mode if you can add them. where the fighters say certain things against certain characters as the fight or do supers and ultras. like how they say there move and say on the finishing hit or start up of the super or ultra to certain characters. what they say before the match and different poses. please add something like 2 controller cover with ssf4 art on it of characters or a certain character or what not.
oh how about the video style filter such as ink style or what not water color style or what not.

other than the 4 that remain i'd like to see another 2 characters or at least one more even though it's unlikely. I'd wait longer for it but everyones fed up of waiting already. They should add figurines again too because the character difference between normal and CE edition of SF4 was 8 chars but this time we would already have a lot of chars plus bonus stages, more online features plus everyone has their own BGM which I was happy about because SF4 didn't have that. I'd like a special ending if you finish it on hard level like SF2 but that would prob take too long so maybe a book or something just talking about characters or showing some good art/posters.

Ye I want a clone of Justin Wong to come in the SSFIV collectors edition so I can fight him whenever I like and upload the videos to YouTube. It would also be awsome to get a mug with a picture of Seth Killian talking about what the Capcom team will put in the collectors edition. Actually thinking about it wouldn't it be special if actual hado whatever power came in a jar!!
