On
Spong.com, the Director General of Capcom France, Antoine Seux, stated that the company is going to focus more on PlayStation 3 and XBox 360 development following the disappointing sales of Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles on the Wii.
This comment was geared towards 'hardcore' or 'mature' games not selling well on Nintendo's platform.
Backtracking a little ways soon after, Capcom Europe issued the statement that they're committed to being "a multi-platform developer and publisher of interactive software."
It's hard to see exactly how Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars fits into this scenario, but considering the success their fighting games have had on the other two platforms, if sales are poor here too, it doesn't take a genius to figure out the Wii might not be seeing much action from Capcom in the future — at least when it comes to games that appeal to hardcore gamers.
So if you want to see more fighting games from Capcom on the Wii, make sure you get out there and pick up Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: UAS when it's released later this month.
