Pretty crappy editing. DREADFUL music. Some ove the best 3s gameplay I've ever seen. Just another example of how superior 3s is to any other fighting game......
Posted by EX Ein on January 5, 2010 at 5:17 p.m. #6
bring me to life(last song) drained ALL awesome out of this. the editing beside a few things was meh . lots of super techs which was skill. hated all the Aegis Reflecter use (I use urien but pick Jupiter) overall a B because of editing but here skills are solid
Posted by Manicman on January 5, 2010 at 5:18 p.m. #7
These are some great clips. I bet theses were exciting matches to watch.

@ Jem how so?
Posted by Jem @ EX Ein on January 5, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. #9
Did you not watch the video?
Look at some of those set ups and combos! The skill required to be this good at the game is huge. There us no room for DP mashing, projectile spamming. Cross-up spamming etc. Name a fighting game that is better and give me reasons why. Then give me reasons why 3s isn't the best fighting game of all time. I'll even go a step further and tell you that all the reasons you will say are garbage because you just don't know how to play it properly......
Posted by Bleh on January 5, 2010 at 5:33 p.m. #10
The only editing part that was cool was during Necro beating Ryu, where the victory stance with the girl synced with the song.
Other than that, I actually agree with Jem (minus the best fighting game thing). Crappy editing, crappy music, really awesome gameplay.

Sick, vid. I'm more of a hip hop guy, but the music was pretty good. I thought the editing was great and I appreciate the time it took to make this great vid, gotta love 3S.

lol a clip of a CS deagle Headshot in there 0_o

Guano Apes - Open Your Eyes
Il NiƱo - What You Deserve
Evanescence - Bring Me To Life
Some neat tricks in this video I just hated the editing and what the fudge at the deagle headshot on aztec? Too much Counterstrike, the editing and the music made it look nothing like a combo video. Geez, do I sound bitter or what.
Posted by Sam on January 5, 2010 at 6:38 p.m. #14
first song is "open your eyes" by "guano apes" - a german band, been a big fan in the early days ;)

Are pure garbage like these players. USA players are on top.
Posted by Ein @ Jem on January 5, 2010 at 6:54 p.m. #16
look i could say alot but like how a set up come from a possibly accidently parry, to how this game has been out for 10 years and pros have nearly picked the characters by frames, but nothing I'll probably say will change your mind even if i do go into depth. the thing is you speak of DP, FB and cross up spamming like you haven't seen it on low level play of third strike. SSF4 will mature from SF4 just like 3s did from SF3 and SI you'll see more serious play offline pull away from SF2 type play just like 3s did you'll see scrubs not be able to win by spamming just like 3s. if you're just looking at SF4 online play of course you'll find spamming like that however if you warch denjin arcade arcade infiniy rambats you don't see scrubs win by spamming. if you look at Frame advantage vids you'll see no body winning by spamming.

that was godlike. I have never heard of Chinese people playing besides Wong of course... but wow... they have prove they can be expert at SF3!!
Posted by Oh noes! on January 5, 2010 at 7:16 p.m. #18
"and the way these are edited together"
Oh you mean the cheesy transitions, crappy effects, wrong AR at moments, bad typography and overused music?
Posted by TheMuffinMan on January 5, 2010 at 7:26 p.m. #19
This would be an awesome "This is 3rd Strike" promotional video. Very entertaining!

Wong ain't Chinese. He is a white washed abc. Big difference. Even people in Japan call him gaijin (white guy).

And these were all done in game... maybe i suck...
I love sf4, but i have to admit, 3s is a much more deep and interesting game. Going to have to side with Jem on this one...
Posted by damn on January 6, 2010 at 8:45 a.m. #38
that musta taken a lot of hours to edit together even if most of the transitions look kinda crappy. music blows too but you can't argue they got the game down.
Posted by Snow on January 6, 2010 at 9:10 a.m. #39
Chinese players are no joke, they often get forgotten since they don't travel as much outside King of Fighters games.
Posted by Whoa on January 6, 2010 at 1:36 p.m. #40
I recongnize the deagle headshot clip from a different video. Was a great CS vid called N1 or Nice one something like that.
Posted by Harima on January 6, 2010 at 3:46 p.m. #41
This is pretty badass (the matches at least), and I wish all of 3s was like this, but it isn't. Don't get me wrong 3s is my fav. SF and I love it, but alot of it is dancing around and poke-into-super. There are those moments though when you see a Akuma or Makoto go into the offensive though, and man is it awesome.
Posted by brian on January 7, 2010 at 1:31 a.m. #42
dude best SF3s gameplay ever... BUT WORST VIDEO EDITING EVERRRR. i mean STORYBOOK MOTIF??? it hurt to sit through the whole thing but it was worth watching only for the gameplay.
Posted by Hamster on January 7, 2010 at 9:11 a.m. #43
If you played at any 3rd Strike hot spot you'll see most of this being done given enough time (don't forget this game has been out for more than a decade). There were some impressive/funny moments (mostly involving Akuma) the rest... meh.
Perfect example, they put Ken linking low strong to super. Come on guys, really? Is that supposed to be impressive? Cut out the mundane and the video's no longer than 1 minute.
It's TOSF part 2. A group puts together a video to show how good they are but then never go to tournaments to prove it. (The only TOSF people I know that ended up going to a tournament got caught screwing with game setting data on memory cards in order to cheat and nearly started a riot).
Posted by What I Think. on January 7, 2010 at 10:45 a.m. #44
Keeping it short.
SF3s-most of the characters aren't interesting, yet it has great depth and its very exicting. Seeing it being played at high level is truly a sight to see.
SF4+SSF4-Alot of faves return, fun new characters, the focus attack system is pretty awesome, and due to SSFIV balancing every single character out its clear which is game is superior. SF4 puts every fighting game that came out this year to sleep.
Not hating on SF3 but, the first two versions were good not great it became great when they released 3s.
Side Note-3s is better than 90% of all fighting games ever made it was just outdone by its successor SF4.
Done take it seriously its my opinion.
Posted by What I Think. on January 7, 2010 at 10:46 a.m. #45
Side Note-(exciting) Can't believe I spelled that wrong.
Posted by Hamster on January 11, 2010 at 10:04 a.m. #46
Street Fighter 4 is not better than 3S. People play 4 because its new. I don't have high hopes for S4 because it's still based upon the flawed engine of 4.
Many people feel this same way deep down. It's like when CVS 1 came out. People were excited about it and played it a lot, but deep down, everyone could sense that there was something wrong with it. When CVS 2 came out, the problems became clear.
The reason I feel Super 4 won't create a night and day change as opposed to transition from CVS 1 to CVS 2 is that CVS 2's engine was completely redone, Super 4 is not.
Daigo has probably played more SF4 than anyone in the world, and even he feels the game is incomplete. That's saying something.
Ask yourself this, do you feel that when Super 4 comes out, if it is similar to SF4, will the game have it's own healthy following when SF5 comes out? 3S does have this, but my feeling is the SF4 series will not if it continues down the same clueless direction that Ono has directed it towards.
