Azrael has come through yet again with a complete translation of the latest Japanese Super Street Fighter 4 blog.

This entry was a gigantic Q&A session with Shiozawa, which has been broken up into two parts because of its extreme length.

Q: ... Too cool. The sound Ryu's Metsu Shoryuken makes when it hits their chin, the slow-motion..I've watched it 50 times! I'm content with just this! Thank you so much!
A: Hey! I'm happy you like it that much! That super-close up is really cool. Metsu Hadouken is cool no matter how many times you see it, but personally I think the Metsu Shoryuken is really manly!

Q: Will Evil Ryu be available as a hidden character?
A: Hmm, I wonder... (silence)

Q: Can't you give out a BP penalty for ragequitters?
A: If someone ragequits, it shows up in their Disconnect Ratio. If that number is too high, then people won't want to fight against them. That is their penalty.

Q: I'm an American living in Japan. I have been enjoying SFIV since the loketests. I can't wait for SSFIV! In SSFIV, will the search function be improved? In SFIV, even if you set your options to "Good Connection", the results seemed random. Also, what's going on with the netcode? Some things can't be helped, but not just for fighting people overseas, but for a large country it would be nice if everyone could enjoy a smooth battle.
A: Thank you for coming out to the Kansai Qualifiers! The search function has been improved upon from SFIV! In SFIV, the search gave you people who were "close" to your conditions, but in SSFIV it only gives you exactly what you are looking for! As for the netcode... I don't really know what that means, sorry!

Q: On the video explaining Ultra II... huh? There don't seem to be enough character slots...
A: Heh heh heh.. I mean, if we just showed you the character select as-is, then you'd be able to guess how many characters are being added and from what series.

Q: Viper's "Burning Dance" a.k.a. "Death Penalty Combo" is here! I was waiting for it! Its too sexy and cool! But personally, I would have named it "Titty Thunder!"
A: What kind of crazy name... Death Penalty Combo is already plenty cool enough!

Q: I believe the Death Penalty Combo is based on an illustration. But during the cross-chop part, the characters are too far away so its not really as intense as it could be. It would be nice if we could get a closer look at Viper's crossed arms and the opponent's face.
A: To be honest, we tried that out! But at a close angle, the lightning effects really go off in your eyes, so we had to find a good balance between coolness and safety!

Q: Will there be a character model viewing mode? If there isn't, tell me now so I can minimize the shock.
A: We don't have any character model viewing modes... Sorry we couldn't fulfill your expectations here!

Q: I've been concerned about this for a little while now, but all the "I want this and that" in SSFIV comments and advice... are they really being taken into consideration by the developers?
A: Plenty are! We aren't depending on them, but as we want to make our players happy, that also means responding to requests. That's the development plan, so we are not missing out on your voices.

Q: To what extent are you making adjustments - when this becomes clear, please tell us players.
A: We always welcome your opinions and requests! We can't respond to everything of course, but if we have the chance we do take things into consideration, so please keep em coming!

Q: I think if the developers look at the comments from everyone from here on out, they're sure to get disappointed. But please just think of it as everyone who loves SFIV giving it their all to have the next installment be even better.
A: Yes, the developers understand that everyone's comments here means that you haven't given up on us! That's why we get a lot of different opinions. But... yeah... sometimes it does get us down (laughs).

Q: Are Ryu and Chun-Li dating?
A: What?! I don't think so! I don't think Chun would pick Ryu (I have no basis for this...).

Q: Wha...! Nakky, are you okay? SSFIV and work, yeah sure, but take care of your body. Don't be like Abel's "Karada ga....!" There are a lot of requests being submitted here, and taking care of them all must be a lot of work, so please hang in there this year as well!
A: Everyone, thank you for such kindhearted comments. It wasn't a very difficult or major surgery, so I was out of the hospital in a week. Now I'm all better and eating a lot everyday! It wasn't because of work, so while I was in the hospital I was just itching to come back!

Q: As a new character, I'd like an old lady fighter.
A: A fighting granny! Yeah, we have fighting old guys, but we haven't seen any old ladies in fighting games, so it would be something new!

Q: Don't you think that Lil' Ono's hair looks like Fei Long's? ... And if this gets posted in the Q&A, please start calling him Fei Long.
A: That's no good! If he becomes as strong as Fei Long, then I'll call him Fei Long.

Q: Can everyone in the development department get the moves out using a Playstation controller?
A: More or less. It takes some work though!

Q: Does Abel's fighting style include Savate? Its a French style, and when I look at the front kicks and space-controlling movements of the fighters, I'm reminded of Abel.
A: Oh... yeah! It seems very close. Our setting for him is with judo at the base, but he is a mixed-martial arts fighter, so it makes sense that a fighting style from his home country would also be in there!

Q: I'm looking forward to the 26th. In the picture on the last blog, it looks like there's some sort of silver book... if that's a strategy guide, I'd be thrilled.
A: Too bad! Its not a strategy guide, but the Artbook that's included with the Collectors Package! But that picture is from our test runs!

Q: I've been wondering about this, but Sagat's listed weight of 78kg is too light, isn't it?
A: Yes! I'm going to spill the beans here, but when making SSFIV, we thought about updating the profiles of Sagat and a few others. As you said, he certainly does look a lot heavier than what's listed. But as the whole theme of SFIV has been SFII as the base, we decided to keep the profiles as-is. But Sagat looks like he should be over 100kg doesn't he?

Q: I want to see Charlie in the game! If he's not I'm going to be sad...
A: Hmm... well, Guile hasn't given up on him, so maybe we might run into him sometime in the future. It seems there's some sort of connection between Abel and Charlie as well. When the truth is revealed, Charlie is...?!

Q: When thinking about Ultras, I lose sleep at night. Are they really going to stay the way they are now?
A: You're talking about selecting your ultra, right? Yes, it is the selectable system, and you choose at the character select screen.

Q: Only two new alt costumes for the new characters?
A: For the new characters such as Guy and Cody, they have their default costume plus the alternate, for a total of 2 costumes. For the 25 characters who's returning from SFIV, they get a third costume!

Q: All the ultras are really nice! Balrog's Dirty Bull and Cody's Last Dread Dust really showcase their individuality! And I personally like Guy's "Bushin Musou Renka" and Abel's "Soulless"! At first I thought some were too long, but I don't know if you adjusted them or I just got used to them, but now I have no problem with them!
A: Oh, that's great! They really are cool! They aren't just useful in battle, but they also show off the character's personality, so I'm glad you like them. Even for those with a bit longer ultras, we're thinking of ways to not disturb the tempo of the match. Please keep on pounding out those Ultras!

Q: Is there a time limit for picking the ultra?
A: You pick your ultra at the same time you pick your character, so no time limit!

Q: I've been playing ever since my first year in elementary school, and for the game to come back in this wonderful form, I could cry tears of joy. Back in the first grade, I thought that people could throw hadoukens in real life!
A: From the first grade! Thinking you could throw fireballs in real life while playing, what a lovely story! When trying to hit on a girl who knows about SFII, you should use this story!

Q: The Ultra II's I like now are Ryu's Metsu Shoryuken, Ken's Guren Senpyu Kyaku, Cody's Last Dread Dust, and El Fuerte's El Fuerte Ultra Spark.
A: Those are really close to the ones I like! There are still some characters and ultras we haven't revealed on the public site, and I think you'll like them, so be sure to keep checking.

Q: Just as I finish with my exams, I'll be sure to buy it!
A: SFIV went on sale 2/12, and there were a lot of people who cried out "that's right before tests!" Sorry about that! This time, right as spring comes and the cherry blossoms bloom, you can finish your tests in peace, and enjoy SSFIV on the sunny days!

Q: The demo being shown on 4/4 (National Tournament)... you won't be taking any feedback from that right?
A: Yes, at that time we won't be able to make any changes! If we did that'd be a lot of trouble!

Q: This price is just too cheap! I'm happy about that, but you sure you guys don't want to earn more money? 4990 yen? That's just too cheap! What a great price for this economic depression. Seriously, 4990 yen? I was prepared to pay 20,000 yen.
A: Its good we could give you a price that everyone enjoys (and is surprised by)! This is pretty much a new title we're making, and honestly getting a value this good is pretty rare!

Q: I want the anime for the PS3 as well. I was really looking forward to it, and to think that I can't see it... Why is it only for Xbox? (tears)
A: Yes, I really am sorry to all those planning to buy it on Playstation 3...

Q: Is the new anime featuring Juri a first-run production only thing?
A: Yes, that's right.

Q: Does the new anime come in a DVD separate from the game disk?
A: No, you'll get a token which has a product code on it, and with that code you'll be able to download the whole thing from the Marketplace!

Q: Why is the special anime Japan only?
A: When we say "Japan only", what that means is that the token for downloading it is included only in the first version, and that's only in Japan. It doesn't mean that people from other regions will never be able to see it. It is possible that other regions will also be able to have the anime special feature included.

Q: Whoa, I want the Collectors Package bad! Its way too good! I'm definitely buying it!
A: I know, right? Its full of things that both Lil Ono and myself would want more than anything else, so we can recommend it with a lot of confidence!

Q: You said that the last SSFIV promotional video wouldn't be included (on the DVD in the Collectors Edition), but there's 3 months left... was this a corporate decision?
A: It's not the suits. We're still making them, even now they're not finished! So we just couldn't meet the DVD's production schedule, unfortunately.

Q: At long last, the sale date has been released! P.S. - I'm a foreigner, so excuse my terrible Japanese.
A: You're a foreigner, but you used 2ch slang... you're pretty good!

Q: If the sountrack is included in the deluxe edition, does that mean that it won't be sold separately? In that case, seems like it'll be pretty hard to reserve a copy. Will plenty be available?
A: Yes, at this time there are no plans to sell the soundtrack separately. We want to get the Collectors Package to as many people as possible, but we do definitely recommend you reserve your copy as soon as possible! (I've got mine reserved!)

Q: About the first-run special features, these will be included together in the Collectors Package, right? Last time I reserved my copy the day after the sale date was announced, but I still didn't get the anime DVD and I was pretty disappointed over that.
A: Yes, a lot of people who reserved their copy of SFIV or even were the first at the store to buy it didn't get a copy of the anime... sorry for causing you trouble! This time everything is included together in the first-run production, so if you reserve your copy early you'll be sure to get it!

Q: The commercials for SFIV were kinda weak! In order to get Japan riled up and spread the name of Street FIghter, please make one hell of a commerical!
A: Sorry, but we're not making any TV commercials for SSFIV...

Q: When Dan does his Ultra II Haoh Gadouken, what does he say at the beginning and the end? I can't really hear...
A: I gave it a try in gameplay... and I have no idea. The narration gets in the way, and you also have the sound effects and BGM... So I tried taking out everything but the voice. It sounds like "Fu, Ho, Fuu... Haoh Gadouken guwa!" (just how I heard it). I asked the sound staff as well, and listening 10 times we still didn't really know.

Q: I made my reservation through e-Capcom? I'm all good... right?!
A: You are!

Q: What about your alternatine costume, Ms. Shiozawa? I've been waiting...
A: And just what are you waiting for? If I have an alternate costume, it's going to be a Chocobo suit (seriously).

Q: Is there some kind of meaning behind Guile not being on the SSFIV character page on the official site?
A: Not at all, we're just doing them in order. Please wait!

Q: What about Mika? Is Mika gonna be in the game?!
A: Hmm, Rainbow Mika is pretty popular! I can just imagine her in SSFIV. ... She'd be like the female version of Fuerte?

Q: The special DVD and soundtrack aren't included in the e-Capcom Limited Edition? Then please sell a set featuring the Collectors Package and the e-Capcom Limited Edition. I want the special features of both, of course!
A: I understand completely! That's why we're offering a Super Deluxe set featuring both!

Q: I have a question. Are Cammy's tits big? (Sorry for the weird question.)
A: This is a weird question. Chun and Juri are pretty consistant with their sizes, so in the world of SSFIV I guess we can say "average". But, Cammy is all about the backside! Chun's about the thighs! And Juri is all about the exposed boob!

Q: Will there be another restaurant collaboration this time around?
A: Goooooooooooood question! We'll be doing a collaboration with 2 restaurants! The planned start date is the beginning of April, and now we're eagerly making the collaboration items!

Q: This is going back a little bit, but the Artwork Book is really good. Its one of my treasures (laughs).
A: Isn't it! Everyone who's bought it has said that its really good and its what they wanted. This is a must-have for Street Fighter fans, so if you haven't got yours yet, by all means!

Q: In the opening (ending?) of SF1, who is the blond-haired guy who punches a hole through the wall?
A: ... No idea. Sorry I couldn't answer your question.

Q: SFIV on the PSP would be great.
A: I want that as well. Not just PSP, but I want to play SFIV on the go! A lot of people within Capcom feel the same! It would be nice if we had something like this...

Q: Who was the hardest character to tweak in SSFIV? Which systems and characters did you want to add the most? And this question might be difficult to answer, but what's the relationship with overseas...? Seems like you guys are whipped (laughs).
A: For the first 2 questions, these would be better answered by the developers, so I put them on my list of things geared towards the dev staff! Please take a look at the dev blog next week. And for the last question... it does seem a bit difficult to answer, but the copyright for the Street Fighter series is held not by Capcom Japan, but Capcom USA. So while coordinating between Japan and USA, we decide on which characters to add! We're not whipped at all.

Q: Could it be that if we were to take a closer look at Rose's eyes when she's using Soul Power, that the pupils change?
A: We don't have any official settings like that, but when Rose uses Soul Power it flows through her body, and its strong enough that even Bison would want it, so its not out of the question. The proof is if you look at Rose's face after she wins - its so gentle and beautiful.

Q: It's almost Valentines Day - will you be giving chocolate to a special someone?
A: Ah, what to do... I haven't decided yet! But, I went to an all-girls school, so rather than giving I always just got them.

Q: Please, Ms. Shiozawa. Use your power, light up your left eye, and tell the development staff "Answer the requests of the fans!" That'll get them moving, right?
A: Well, I can't deny it... I often have fights with the engineer Taguchi, not verbal but with our eyes. And with the line manager Aoki, sometimes we have real fights.

Q: Is the story of SSFIV the same as SFIV? And why is the price so cheap?
A: The timeline is the same, just a different story! And why is it so cheap... that's thanks to the efforts of our business team!

Q: Hello! I'm a PS3 player! I ran through Challenge Mode, Time Attack, Survival, and Trial Mode, and managed to get 100% of the trophies!
A: Wow! That's really great! Congratulations! Even among the developers, only a few people have managed to get 100%.

Q: What's the price for the regular version of the game + e-Capcom Special Features?
A: Okay, I checked. It's 6,490 yen (tax included)!

Q: Will the e-Capcom version arrive on the sale date?
A: Yes! I checked this as well. If you place your order 8 days before the sale date, excluding some regions, you'll get the same on the sale date! But if you place your order only 7 days or less before the sale date, then you'll get it the day after or later, so be careful!

Q: Man, I thought you'd accidentally spill out more info on the characters, but you're more tight-lipped than I thought! (laughs)
A: Heh heh heh, of course I'm not gonna spill. If I something as silly as that, I'd get punched by Lil' Ono!

Q: When pronouncing the names, should we inflect the end of Cody? Do I have to stretch it out? Also, what about Dee Jay? Should the Y in Cody be more pronounced than the Y in Cammy?
A: Yes, I thought the same! In materials circulated around the development staff, many people wrote it without the elongation sound. That's the most natural, isn't it? While its displayed with an elongation sound, without it is just OK! Also, the elongation in Dee Jay comes in the "Dee" part!

Q: Is Sakura flunking high school?
A: Ah, Sakura setting! In SFIV, Chun-Li called her "The Eternal High School Girl" and reporters asked her if she was really a high school student to which she replied "No comment..." The truth hasn't been revealed yet, so I'll also go the no comment route!

Q: Will the titles and colors we earned in SFIV carry over to SSFIV? The things I earned in my online fights, and busting my butt in the Trial Mode... if you tell me I gotta do that again, I can't. (laughs)
A: Sorry, but titles and colors don't carry over from SFIV. But you can rekindle the effort you put into getting the titles in SFIV into SSFIV's trials! We're making this game for those who played SFIV, so its not a Trial Menu that makes all your efforts go to waste!

Q: What's going on at the National Tournament!
A: Whoops... and here is where I zip my lip shut. At any rate, please come and see for yourself!

Q: What the deal with the kunai you keep teasing us with? How long do you intend to drag this out? Please show us the new characters! I can't wait anymore! C'mon, tell us about the new characters as quickly, quickly, QUICKLY as possible. "No information about the new characters?"
A: A lot of players have been hunting me down about this! Seems like I can't run away any longer. Okay, I got you. Let's do it! I'll be updating on 2/18 (Thurs) next week, so be sure not to miss it!

I'm hoping for Elena, Ibuki, and Dudley. I believe Ibuki and Dudley, and I'm hoping and praying for my girl, ELENA!!!!! The last character can be whoever at this point. Hakan, Karin, R. Mika, etc... I don't care. I'm wanting Elena, Ibuki, and Dudley. Come on Capcom bring us the characters

Not to bring you down but we got Alpha characters,there'll be SF3-characters and SSF4 will get 2 new characters.
So that would count as series.

The Charlie question made me wonder if we're gonna see him in SSF4.

But I guess he'll show up in the 3rd version,Guile will find peace and they both quit the fighting-business (explainin why they were absent in SF 3's story).
Abel will copy the sonic boom and in the meantime and got a son named Remy who he abandoned because he loves dogs :P.

Q: I'm an American living in Japan. I have been enjoying SFIV since the loketests. I can't wait for SSFIV! In SSFIV, will the search function be improved? In SFIV, even if you set your options to "Good Connection", the results seemed random. Also, what's going on with the netcode? Some things can't be helped, but not just for fighting people overseas, but for a large country it would be nice if everyone could enjoy a smooth battle.
A: Thank you for coming out to the Kansai Qualifiers! The search function has been improved upon from SFIV! In SFIV, the search gave you people who were "close" to your conditions, but in SSFIV it only gives you exactly what you are looking for! As for the netcode... I don't really know what that means, sorry!

The alpha characters are done already. Their not going to add any more alpha characters, just look at how the character selection screen is organized, it is OBVIOUS that the last 3 spots are grouped together to be the "SF3" section.

The last character will be a completely new character because Juri is located on the far center left, and the far center right is blank. Its most likely going to be Hakan from the rumors.

Asking for any other characters like Karin/Sodom/Rolento are not planned so its time to give up people.

So I heard rumors that the spoiler list isn't as accurate as it seems to be. So far it's been pretty spot on if you ask me. I think there might be a special surprise, from what I'm hearing. Makoto might be the only character that might not make it into the game. And please people don't flame, all speculation. Lets say they decide not to add Makoto into the game due to game mechanic reasons. Who would be best suited to fill her spot in SSF4? Remember their play style must be suited for SSF4 so someone like Yun, Urien, Twelve probably wouldn't make the cut.

we can all speculate who's gonna appear in SSF4. we can also insult each other or the company for not sayin somethin right or just voicing their hope of a certain character makin an appearence. my hope is elena makin a comeback. will she come that remains to be seen. either way im still buyin the game. at $40 (or$50) its not a bad buy. i have 2 admit im not lookin foward to re-earnin all the stuff i've accumilated in SF4, but i'll forget about that while i play the game lol. once again there's no point in havin evil ryu or shin akuma since their original forms are currently present. like i said before i hope they dont mess up gouken he's the man lol. if elena comes...awesome. if not...oh well. lets just wait till the game comes out

The fact that they said the most popular characters will be in the game should tell people who is in it. There is a poll (somewhere....I saw it while ago) where they asked who would they want to see from various street fighter games, and from 3rd strike the top three were Ibuki, Dudley, and Makoto(not sure if I switched the order up) but I clearly remember those three being up there. My only issue is Makoto.... I granted... if she is in the game I would main her considering she was the only person I used in 3rd strike. Her age would be a problem, but seeing how capcom does things story wise. So if she is in it.... I'm not worried that she wont fit in.

well it seems that dudley, makoto & ibiki are officially in. a match between dudley & boxer (balrog) should be very interesting to say the least. unfortunately (for me at least) it seems elena wont b comin back. still i look foward to the day i pick up d game. all the new additional characters look very impressive. i do agree with d people who want d option of havin d shorcuts on or off. not a bad idea at all. just because the background looks like a Kenyan lanscape (assumin its actually Kenyan) doesnt mean elena's comin unfortunately. i'd like 2 believe she'll make a comeback but it's still up in d air. d best way 2 deal with gief is not to be close 2 him all the time. of course that depends on who you use. just be careful. once he knocks u down d gief player will most likely do that dangerous cross up attack in2 his lariat, combo or piledriver. gotta use with what u got.
